Abstract

The increase in dyslipidemia cases every year requires the Clinical Chemistry laboratory to carry out quality control which is influenced by an assessment of accuracy and accuracy. These measurements were used with control materials. So far, in laboratories, there are still many commercial serum control materials used as controls that are used daily in triglyceride tests, and rarely use pooled sera. In fact, there are several advantages in using pooled sera as a control material. This type of analytic survey research with a comparative study method. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation sheets. Data were processed computerized using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using independent t-tests. The results showed that the average triglyceride examination value with Pooled Sera control material was 94.67 mg/dL with a Standard Deviation of 2.52, a coefficient value variance of 2.66%. While the results of triglyceride examination with Commercial Serum control material were 79.13 mg/dL with a Standard Deviation of 3.57, the coefficient of variance was 4.51%. Abstract

Various studies and observations have been carried out to produce a turbine design that suits the needs and the relatively low flow speed is a challenge that currently still requires further research. ThereforeThe aim of this research is to determine the effect of variations in the width of the bowl blade on the vertical shaft kinetic water turbine power. The research method used is an experimental method with an experimental design on a laboratory scale. Tests were carried out on three variations of blade width, from the results of the study it can be concluded that increasing the water flow rate, turbine rotation, and the ratio of tangential speed to the turbine blade width can increase the kinetic water turbine power. In this study, variations in blade width were 10 cm, 11 cm, and 12 cm. Increasing turbine blade sheets increased turbine power due to the additional mass of the flow hitting the turbine blades thereby affecting the kinetic water turbine power. Analysis of the water flow rate shows that the maximum turbine power occurs at a blade width of 12 cm and a discharge of 0.017 m3/second with a turbine power value of 25.455 Watt. Analysis of turbine rotation, Maximum turbine power occurs at a blade width of 12 cm and rotation of 80 rpm with a turbine power value of 23,864 Watts. Meanwhile, analysis of the tangential speed ratio shows that the maximum turbine power occurs at a blade width of 12 cm and at a tangential speed ratio of 0.5 rad/s2 with a turbine power value of 23,864 Watts. Keywords: Blade width, power, kinetic turbine, vertical shaft.

Abstract

When analysing macroeconomic factors using an econometric approach that attempts to determine the successful economic development of countries, such as in the analysis of poverty and gross domestic product (GDP), problems have been repeatedly encountered in considering the variables involved simultaneously. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to use the two-stage least squares (2SLS) method as the best estimator by applying the simultaneous equation model. The objective of this study is to analyse the simultaneous equation model between poverty and GDP in a developing country such as Indonesia. The macroeconomic data sources used for this study are secondary time series data from 1990 to 2017 obtained from Indonesia Statistics Agency, IMF, UNDP and World Bank. The result shows that there is strong evidence that poverty and GDP act simultaneously or endogenously in the model. From the results, it is recommended that in order to achieve higher GDP in the future, the Indonesian government should pay more attention to alleviating poverty rates, reducing unemployment rates, lowering merchandise imports, and improving economic growth in addressing macroeconomic problems in the country.

Abstract

This article explains the effectiveness of group guidance and discussion techniques and their influence on the level of social interaction among mosque youth. As social beings in the community, teenagers always carry out a process of social interaction with fellow individuals and other groups in community life. However, the ability to interact among adolescents is still low and some even have difficulty adjusting to social interactions. This research is a quantitative study using the pre-experimental design method, type one group pretest-posttest (preliminary test, final test of a single group). The total population was 12 mosque teenagers, because this research was conducted on teenagers from the Nurul Iman Pasirpengaraian mosque. Data were collected using questionnaires and observations and using a total item correlation limit of rix 0.25 as the item selection criterion. Assessment analysis can be obtained from the results of calculating pretest and posttest scores. The acquisition of pretest and posttest scores is carried out in several stages. The initial stage is the pretest activity, and the final stage is the posttest activity. The results of this study indicate that the level of social interaction among adolescents at the Nurul Iman mosque, before being given treatment, is still classified as in the low category which is in the interval range 47 to 56. Then it has increased from 47.58 to 79.25, which means that group guidance and discussion techniques have an effect on adolescent social interactions.

Abstract

The present paper compares the efficiency of irrigated and rain-fed farming in North Sumatra using a household farm survey for the 2022 growing season. The authors use the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, mean difference test, and Tobit regression. Empirical results reveal that irrigated farming is more efficient than rain-fed based on CRS and SE assumptions. However, access to irrigation was found to harm rice farming efficiency. Unequal distribution of water, scarcity of water during the growth period, and excess water during the harvest cause a decrease in the efficiency of irrigated farming. The age of the head of household, education, and access to credit was also found to harm technical efficiency. In contrast, the experience variable in participating in farmer groups because it has a positive impact on the efficiency of rice farming. The results provide valuable insights for transforming water management and strengthening the need for investment in irrigation infrastructure as a poverty alleviation mechanism and means to achieve rice farming sustainability in North Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the interests of Indonesian Khonghucu religious adherents, especially related to business and academia. The people of Khonghucu are known to be very good at doing business, so they are generally financially successful. Since obtaining legality since the time of President K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid, Khonghucu has now continued to develop. Among Khonghucu businessmen, are there those who choose to become academics, pursue religion more, and develop Khonghucu? This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The informan was a Khonghucu adherent who had succeeded in becoming a businessman and academic. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data validation is done by triangulation, both technique triangulation and source triangulation. The results showed that Khonghucu adherents in Indonesia are very interested in becoming entrepreneurs, although some of them prefer academic careers. Both options are influenced by family culture and values, labor market opportunities and demands, the influence of the educational environment and personal aspirations and abilities of individuals. Those in business contribute to Indonesia's economy, while those who choose academia preserve and pass on Confucian religious traditions to future generations. Both those who choose business and academia recognize that pursuing religion is a valuable devotion for Confucians and Indonesian society as a whole.

Abstract

Indonesia continues to struggle with nutritional issues, which seriously affect the caliber of human resources (HR). The prevalence of stunting in children under the age of five is one of the nutritional issues that is currently of great concern. The goal is to analyze the reduction in stunting by promoting exclusive breastfeeding and Early Breastfeeding Initiation in toddlers. A case control study with 33 mothers of stunted toddlers and 33 mothers of non-stunted toddlers was done in the working area of the Sei Panas health center. Non-probability sampling is used for sampling, while the chi square test is used for data analysis. It was discovered that 18 (78.3%) of the 25 toddlers who did not get only breast milk stunted, with a p-value of 0.003 0.05; OR 4,286 (Lower 1,246 - Upper 14,735). meaning that the incidence of stunting and exclusive breastfeeding have a substantial link. In addition, 15 (65.2%) of the 22 children who did not initiate early breastfeeding had stunted growth, with a v-palue of 0.039 0.05; OR 8,229 (Lower 2,175- Upper 31,132). This indicates that the incidence of stunting and early breastfeeding initiation are significantly correlated. The following interventions are included in the framework for specific nutritional intervention activities typically carried out in the health sector and are aimed at breastfeeding mothers and children aged 0–6 months: 1) Encouraging early initiation of breastfeeding (giving breast milk/colostrum); Public health centers are advised to increase education about exclusive breastfeeding for babies 0–6 months in order to reduce the incidence of stunting in their working area.
