Abstract

This article examines the issue of how various religious and legal systems cope with current developments that weaken the binary opposition of men and women including their definitions of sexual identity and culture. More concretely, this book tries to explain how society and concrete laws deal with claims of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual (LGBT) who claim wider recognition. This explains the difference between the Western provisions and the policies of relevant legal bodies such as the General Assembly of the United Nations, the European Court of Human Rights, and the Supreme Court regarding this matter. This also shows the nature and real impact of international civil society forces such as the Yogyakarta principle which formulates the expansion of rights regarding lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexuals. Based on a comparison of various legal and religious discourses, he describes the current practice of direct and indirect discrimination and in some non-European national systems even extrajudicial killings, torture and ill-treatment, sexual assault, rape, and other human rights violations. While emphasizing the substantial differences between current European countries and non-European countries regarding policies towards lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT), it points to the current trend of progress in the field by the general policy of the European Council, the most recent assessment issued by the European Court of Human Rights as well as civil society efforts such as the Yogyakarta principle. Swedish standards have been introduced to emphasize existing progressive attitudes towards LGBT people regarding gay marriage and adoption procedures.

Abstract

Since long ago, international scholars have predicted that China will rise as one of the great powers in the international political economy. Based on China's potential to rise as the world’s number two power, this paper will discuss the forms of China's potential threats through economic and military means that can threaten the security of the Asia Pacific region. The main objective of this study is to examine the factors behind China's rise as a new power in the world economy and to identify the potential threat of China's military to the security of the Asia Pacific region. This study uses the concept of human security and security dilemma. The results of the study show that China has indeed succeeded in becoming a major power in the world economy after joining the WTO. However, the development of the international political economy today, shows that China has not fully challenged the existing international order through its military. China is seen to have worked hard to establish cooperation based on the spirit of the neighborhood and sustainable economic relations with countries in the Asia Pacific region and the United States.

Abstract

In recent decades, sustainable economic growth has caused an increase in energy consumption in North Asia, especially in China, Japan and South Korea. However, internal supply cannot meet energy demand, bringing two related consequences: First, the enlargement of the gap between production and consumption leads to dependence on external energy sources. Second, forcing the government to map its energy policy. However, unlike other regions such as the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian nations, the dependence of the Energy of Northeast Asia has not caused the closest intra-regional cooperation. Conversely, in some cases, it damages cooperation and worsens non -constructive competition. Therefore, in this study, we aim to highlight the problematic relationship between energy securitization and regional energy cooperation in Northeast Asia and provide an analysis of the reasons, mechanisms and challenges for regional cooperation led by energy. In this case, we think that, by exploiting regional compatibility in the generation of renewable energy and in the consumer model, building a mechanism of integration and multimodal communication will promote greater integration and contribute to filling the gap between securitization and energy cooperation in the east and work the same in the east and working with Asia.

Abstract

The colonialism and tyranny of the Palestinian people after the silence of the large-scale countries and the limited support of the Palestinian National Authority or the rather westernized capacity of the people, the presence of various types of non-governmental organizations or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) carries out humanitarian assistance activities for vulnerable groups. This. The main objective of this research is to recognize the nature of humanity and the contribution of Malaysian Humanitarian NGOs to the Palestinian Humanitarian issue. Based on a qualitative approach, a virtual meeting was held with three members of the Safe Palestine NGO. The selection of this NGO was based on special assistance to the Palestinians and active involvement since the establishment of the organization. The study shows that there are various forms of assistance for humanity, Safe Palestine, through projects involving the economic, educational, social, health, agricultural, and infrastructure sectors that have successfully contributed to the health of people in the world. Active involvement through activities in Malaysia has made awareness of the Palestinian issue among the Malaysian community. However, Safe Palestine projects and activities are considered to be religious. The essence of the Palestinian issue is equated as humanism and not religion solely so that all ethnic groups, regardless of religious background, can go hand in hand in refuting Israel's misanthropy.

Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive sex industry typology based on primary data collected between 2020 and 2022. Contemporary sex industry typologies in Europe tend to be sector-specific or have been developed from specific disciplinary perspectives or themes (e.g. sexual health programs, income). Set within the typological context of the international sex industry, this paper seeks to address this gap. Data was obtained from online surveys, questionnaires and consultations with stakeholders including individuals currently or previously involved in selling sex, service providers/NGOs, police, local government representatives and others. The data is complemented by insights from a systematic literature search. This work aims to assist program and policy planning in the Europe context. Our method can help develop typologies in other contexts.

Abstract

Security comes from the Latin word secure, significantly different from the dangers, fears, and threats associated with traditional and non-traditional security methods. Meanwhile, defense is defined as the most vital technology for the state in carrying out its national security function. National security is defined as the dynamic state of a country which covers all aspects of the nation's life in facing threats. National security includes protection for the state, society, and individuals. Until now, experts have provided several different definitions of the terms security and defense. This article analyzes the current digital information security threats in national security strategies and the implementation of adequate legal protections. This article applies a descriptive qualitative research approach by conducting document analysis. This article describes various information security threats in Indonesia, including disinformation, privilege escalation, and protection against phishing threats, data forgery, and card crime. The similarities and differences between the concepts of defense and security can be observed through regulations, the terminology used, institutions, and constitutions. This article shows that national information security is closely related to policy and closely relates to security, especially ITE policies. It cannot be separated that the security situation of a country depends on security and defense but synergistically with other factors, namely economic, political, legal, socio-cultural, ideological, geographical, and demographic.

Abstract

This paper aims at providing information on how the implementation of Merdeka Belajar policy in Schools is, with a focus on describing the constraints encountered in the Pancasila students profile strengthening project (P5). This project is a learning innovation in the Kurikulum Merdeka. P5 intends to produce education that is more independent and innovative, so that students have competence, Pancasila character and are able to compete globally. In fact, there are still a number of important issues to be studied. This research was conducted at SMAN 1 Tomohon which implements the Kurikulum merdeka independently for the 2022-2023 school year. This qualitative research was designed using the Case Study method which aims at observing what the constraints that exist in the implementation of P5 at SMAN 1 Tomohon are. Data collection was based on questionnaires given to 25 teachers teaching in Grade X. There were 14 study groups and 15 subjects in the Kurikulum Merdeka. The data collected through observation, interviews and document studies is verified and presented as a conclusion. Based on this research, it was found that there were obstacles to educators, schools and students in implementing P5. The Kurikulum Merdeka is designed as an effort to restore Indonesian education and transform learning to a higher quality. Therefore, the constraints in one Content of the Merdeka Belajar Policy, namely the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka P5 which is at this early stage, may be used as evaluation material, so that a strategic solution plan can be prepared.

Abstract

Stevia (Rebaudiana bertoni) leave, is an ancient perennial shrub mostly found in South America in countries like Paraguay and Brazil. It contains a low-calorie sweetener, which is about 300 times sweeter than sucrose. Diabetes mellitus is among the common metabolic disorders affecting about 2.8% of the world’s population and is reported to reach 5.4% by the year 2025. In this work, insulin was successfully extracted from Rebaudiana bertoni to serve as an alternative to bovine insulin extracted from animals which is devoid of the risk of transferring infectious diseases from the animals to the diabetic patient as is the case with convectional animal-based insulin. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) and Fourier Transform InfraRed (FTIR) analysis were used to analyze and determine the functional groups available in the isolated compound and the results shows that it has retention time of 14.11 min; abundance/peak area (% PA) of 86.613 %; mass number (m/z) of 413 g/mol; molecular peak ion of 149; fragmentation patterns of 7; and C20H29BrO4 as molecular formula and phthalic acid, 8-bromoctyl butyl ester as IUPAC name. The insulin was tested on three groups of rats (Rattus norvegicus) whereby the glucose level was monitored, and the result shows that the extracted insulin was found to be effective in addition to having antidiabetic effect.
