Abstract

The objectives of this study include: to find out whether Tangram Media Against Children’s Cognitive Ability to Recognize Geometry Shapes. The research method that researchers use is a quantitative method. This research is included in the regression research. From the results of the research conducted, the following results were obtained: Tangram media had an effect on the ability to recognize geometric shapes. Which is marked by the increase in the result of childrens’s learning tests in stage 2, namely at the post test stage, as well as the results obtained from the coefficient table which shows Y = 57,725 + 1,121. A cobstant of 57,725 states that if there is not tangram media the ability to recognize children’s geometric shapes of 57,725 states that if there is no tagram media has a positive positive effect on the ability to recognize geometric shapes, meaning that the better the learning media, the greater or better the ability to recognize geometric shapes. The independent variable (Vx) has an effect of 0.585 or 58.5 % on the dependent variable (Vy) and the rest is influenced by other variables not discussed in this study. What can be interpreted also that the tangram media has an effect of 0.585 or 58.5% on the ability to recognize geometric shapes.

Abstract

Parents are responsible for directing their children's education from an early age. Such opinion becomes the reason how parents perceive PAUD institution and influences their motivation to send their children to school. This research, which was conducted for 6 months, aimed to examine whether there is a correlation between perception of PAUD institution and the motivation of parents to send their children to school. The hypothesis proposed in research was there is a correlation between perceptions of PAUD institution with motivation of parents to send their children to school. The data were collected using online questionnaire of Google form, by sending the link to 255 respondents in Kupang City. The data were then analyzed using the Correlational Product Moment (Spearman's rho) formula. The research results showed that there is a significant correlation between perception of PAUD institution and motivation of parents to send their children to school. This is evidenced by the calculated r value of 0.968 with r product moment value of 0.138 (0.968> 0.138), so it can be concluded that when the perception of PAUD institution is positive, the motivation of parents to send their children to school would increase. This finding needs to be reviewed qualitatively to produce more in-depth data.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop learning media in the form of a pyramid of numbers to develop the cognitive aspects of children aged 5-6 years. The development model used is Borg and Gall which consists of six stages. Products developed will be validated by a team of experts. The small scale subjects are 5 children and the large scale subjects are 15 children. The instrument used to collect data is an observation sheet. The results showed that the validation results of material experts obtained a score of 24 with an average value of 3.4 in the "good" category, the results of the media expert validation obtained a score of 31 with an average value of 3.8 in the "good" category. The results of the observations obtained that the percentage of pretest success was 46% (MB) and posttest 80% (BSB) and the results of hypothesis testing between pretest and posttest using the t-test was 1 < 2,048. From these results, it can be concluded that the number pyramid learning media is feasible to use to develop the cognitive aspects of children aged 5-6 years.
