Abstract

This study aims to see how the Qur’an memorization program is carried out at Dar El Iman Padang's Integrated Islamic Junior High School. The method used in this research is qualitative with this type of observational research with research data sources obtained from interviews conducted directly with informants who have links with the institutions studied. All interview and observation data were then analyzed thematically using NVivo 12 Software. Based on the results of interviews with informants, it was clear that there were two programs for memorizing the Qur’an at Dar El Iman Padang Islamic Junior High School. The two programs namely; First, tahsin Qur’an for 1 semester, Second, tahfidz Quran 5 juz activities for the next semester. The method applied is the Talaqqi method (direct deposit to the ustadz) in the form of Halaqah half the number of students. With this research, it is hoped that it will become a reference for information for the general public to find out how the Qur’an memorization program is held at the Dar El-Iman Padang Islamic Integrated Junior High School.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the strategy is to increase students' understanding in learning Islamic religious education in elementary schools. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data source was taken through in-depth interviews with ten Islamic religious education teachers in several elementary schools. All data were analyzed thematically with techniquesInteractive Analysis Model Miles & Huberman. Research findings found four strategies for teachers in improving student understanding of the nature of Islamic religious education learning. The four strategies are i) wheezingIntegrate technology as a learning medium so that students can easily understand the material, ii) condition students to study in groups, so that collaboration among students is formed in learning, iii) Provide rest periods in learning sessions to overcome learning saturation, iv) Varying learning methods such as singing and carry out games in conveying subject matter. The research findings also found that the four strategies used by the teacher were implemented well and even succeeded in increasing students' understanding in understanding the subject matter. These four strategies can be used as examples for Islamic religious education teachers in various elementary schools in carrying out learning.

Abstract

The study is aimed at designing and analyzing the product validity of learning media of Ispring Suite used for science class in Junior High School. The study employs the Research & Development method of Borg and Gall consisting of five stages namely; planning, design, validation, revision and final product. Powerpoint and Ispring Suite are used in designing the product. further, the validity of the product is assessed by two experts in media learning for science. Based on the findings it can be concluded that the product is feasible and qualified to be applied in science class in Junior High Schools. Last, the product can be effectively used after it is downloaded in playstore, marketplace or google market. The researcher recommends that future researchers increase the number of studies related to the development of media products for science learning, so that the products that have been produced can be integrated by science teachers in learning.

Abstract

The study of academically gifted students has attracted the attention of many researchers in the world in the last two decades. The existence of gifted students in this category always appears in schools even though it does not have an enormous population like other average students. Gifted students are those with eminent academic abilities, characterized by strong self-resistance, high learning motivation, unlimited academic reasoning and other advantages. However, in Indonesia, the study of academically gifted students has not been widely conducted by academics and studies related to this issue are still limitedly published. This research aims to find out the profile of gifted students in excellent schools that organize international class programs in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data sources are taken through in-depth individual and group interviews with ten informants consisting of the principal, vice principal for curriculum, Islamic religious education teacher and students who study in international classes using Indonesian and English. All data are analyzed thematically using the Miles & Huberman interactive analysis model technique. The research findings found six categories of gifted student profile selection. The six categories are; i) having an IQ above 130, ii) high creativity, iii) critical thinking, iv) eagerness to do challenges, v) good language skills, vi) good language framework. These findings can be used as a reference for schools and teachers in determining gifted students before they are grouped in the international class program at school.

Abstract

The activities of students who live in a wisma are certainly different from students who live in houses, boarding houses, or dormitories. This is of course very influential on the character possessed by students. The aim of this study is to find out how the efforts made in building the character of students living in Wisma. This research uses the method qualitative approach with a case study. The research data was taken from three informants who are students who live in Wisma through in-depth interviews. To strengthen the data, the authors also made direct observations of students living in Wisma. Research result shows that there are seven important themes in the effort to build student character at Wisma. The seven themes are implemented through: i) wisma rules (discipline, responsibility, independence), ii) social activities (tolerance, social care), iii) spiritual activities (religious, curious), iv) joint activities (honest, creative, democratic, appreciate achievement, friendly, loves peace, cares for the environment), v) daily worship practices (religious, hard work), vi) national day commemoration (national spirit, love of country), vii) Channeling interest in reading (likes to read). The results of this study can be used as information for students to be able to build character in everyday life.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges faced by women who wear the veil in society. This research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, research data was taken through direct interviews with ten informants. All interview data was then analyzed thematically using Miles and Huberman qualitative data analysis. Research findings show that there are four challenging factors faced by women who wear the niqab, namely i) maintaining consistency in wearing the niqab, ii) difficulty in carrying out activities, iii) not getting permission from parents, iv) getting ridiculed by society. The results of this research can be used as initial data for subsequent researchers in studying different issues related to this problem as well as various other issues that are relevant to this context.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze student satisfaction in online learning. This research uses quantitative methods. The data source was taken using a questionnaire from 50 active students attending college in a few Universities in Sumatra. All data is then analyzed using software SPSS Windows Version 20 and found 33 students stated that they were not satisfied with the total percentage of 60%, 3 students stated that they were very dissatisfied with the results percentage 5.5% of students, 17 students stated that they were satisfied with a percentage of 30.9 students, then 2 students stated that they were very satisfied with the online learning system with a percentage of 4%. The satisfaction in question is measured through five indicators, namely; i). level of satisfaction, ii) clarity of structure and subject matter of material discussion, iii) suitability of learning material with RPS, iv) consistency of lecturers in online learning, v) liking online learning. The five indicators used as instrument items in this research were used to determine the level of student satisfaction with the online learning system during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This research aims to explore students' assessments of worship facilities in higher education. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, data sources were taken using a questionnaire from one hundred and thirty respondents who were students from twenty-nine universities in Indonesia, and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques using SPSS version 20 software. The results of the analysis show that students agree with the fifteen indicators for assessing worship facilities in higher education, the fifteen assessment indicators are; i) The mosque/prayer room has a comfortable atmosphere for worship; ii) The mosque/prayer room has a sturdy building structure; iii) The design of the mosque/prayer room is good and beautiful; iv) The interior design of the mosque/prayer room is well arranged; v) The lighting in the mosque and its surroundings is good; vi) The mosque room is spacious and can accommodate many people; vii) The prayer equipment provided for mosque congregations is sufficient (for example, mukena and prayer mats); viii) The prayer rows are arranged neatly so that it is easier for the congregation to worship; ix) Cleanliness inside and outside the mosque/prayer room is maintained; x) Cleanliness of prayer equipment (mukena, prayer mat) provided by the mosque/prayer room is maintained; xi) The mosque/prayer room has a clean ablution area; xii) Mosques/prayer rooms have clean toilets; xiii) The security facilities in the mosque/prayer room are adequate; xiv) The safety of the congregation's belongings is guaranteed at the mosque/prayer room; and xv) Mosque/prayer room staff are friendly to the congregation. Overall, students agree with all points of the worship facilities assessment. Worship facilities at universities are considered to be good and can support the congregation in carrying out worship solemnly to Allah.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze student assessments of the use of the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) application for the final semester exam at Padang State University. This research was conducted using quantitative methods with a survey approach. The data source was taken using a questionnaire from seventy-five respondents who took general courses, all data was then analyzed descriptively. There are thirteen points discussed in student assessment. The research results show that the majority of students at Padang State University have experience using the Safe Exam Browser application and it also makes it easier for every student in the exam. Sometimes there are many obstacles in using it, because this is the first time using the Safe Exam Browser application. The results of this research can be used as initial data for subsequent researchers in studying different issues related to this problem as well as various other issues that are relevant to this context.
