Abstract

The cryptocurrencies are digital currencies that were initially designated to replace the old ones. However, they act as investment assets and many treat them like stocks. The market for cryptocurrencies counts more than 1600 types and the Bitcoin is the first and foremost of all of them. In one year the price of Bitcoin grew staggering 2000 percent. Other currencies have not seen this type of rising. This study investigates the period of over 4 years of data for 5 cryptocurrencies, the three years before and the last year of hyper-growth of the Bitcoin. We used GARCH model to see if two periods of data may offer some incites for patterns. The findings of this paper show that the Bitcoin in the period of high volatility is more diverged from its counterparts. According to results in the period of high volatility, the factors that influence the price formation of cryptocurrencies may not be the same for all of them. Using the price of the Bitcoin of one day earlier and the price of altcoins today we find spillover effect. Spillover effect is less prominent in the second period of high volatility. It may indicate of relatively independent nature of altcoins during the periods of high volatility.

Abstract

Growth and development of SMEs in Indonesia is the responsibility of all parties. This research was conducted as an effort to increase the productivity of micro enterprises Tempe manufacturer in Pasuruan, East Java. The method used is the American Productivity Center. The advantage of this method is to produce three measures of productivity, the index of productivity, profitability index and the index of price improvement. After the measurement, analysis and improvement efforts showed the proposed implementation of the improvements made in the period May managed to increase the productivity index and the index of profitability compared with the period before the implementation of the April. Input materials, labor, energy and total input increased by (6.21%); (3.67%); (8.60%) and (0.0385%), while capital decreased by (-6.34%). The profitability index of material inputs, labor, energy and total input increased by (7.54%) (3.52%), (8.26) and (0.04), while capital input declined by (-8 , 67%). Price improvement index showed a decrease in labor input of energy and capital by (0.02%) (0.02%) and (2.08%). Material inputs increased by (1.55%), while the total input unchanged.

Abstract

This paper presents a preliminary review of dimensions school furniture which was issued by National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (NSAI) through SNI 7555.4.2009 and SNI 7555.19.2011. The dimensions of seat height of chair and desk height of desk were assessed by using students’ anthropometry i.e. popliteal height and elbow rest height. Anthropometric data of 64 elementary school students of grade 1 were taken. Results showed that 97.1% boys and 96.7% girls did not match with lower level of seat height. Meanwhile, none of students in Grade 1 matched with the higher level of seat height. Similarly, 100% mismatch was found for desk height either for lower or upper level. This findings could lead to a broader study involving more samples, age group and geographical areas.

Abstract

Quality is an important factor for people in selecting and enjoying a product or service in addition to competitive prices. Therefore, for companies to survive and maintain its existence, it is required to remain continuously maintain and improve the quality of the products or services they offer. PT. X is a company engaged in the steel plating with Hot Dip Galvanize method. In the implementation of quality control in PT. X, after analysis on coating processes steel material elbow 50 x 50 x 5 (mm) in length 2000 mm Type SS540 processed vertically in the period January - December 2014. By using SPC method, that is especially by calculation using the map control x̅, R and S is still a point of being out of control that indicates the thickness of the coating out of provisions. However, the number of points out of the control limits is still relatively small. However, PT. X must remain continuously maintain and improve the quality of their products and services by taking into account four factors that influence the final armor plating that is the human factor, the factor labor process, machine factors and material factor.

Abstract

This research was conducted on restaurant business in North Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. To improve the performance of service innovation, companies need knowledge gained from knowledge sharing activities. A number of 150 employees working in the restaurant businesses in North Kalimantan participated in this study. The data were collected using survey method with questionnaire. The survey responses submitted by respondents in this study indicated that the influence of knowledge sharing on the performance of service innovation showed significant results. Knowledge sharing activities in this study have a positive effect on innovation performance of restaurant business services in North Kalimantan.

Abstract

The development of a company is always related to its supporting facilities’ location, for instance, warehouse location. Usually, company choose the most strategic one to minimize its transportation cost, distribution route and time. As the result, it is clear that warehouse location determination is the key to company’s success in delivering consumer needs. Location determination is not only used in manufacturing problem, but it is also can be used in national defense problem, which is the case study of this research: Western Sea Sector Indonesian Navy. In national defense, national and regional development are important factors for maximizing Indonesian Navy’s strength. As an example, logistics capability improvement. Logistics is one of the most important parts to support warships in doing their maritime operations. So, strategy of determinating the best warehouse location is very crucial to make sure the distribution of goods went smoothly. This research uses Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) as a method to solve location determination problem. Using a study case from main literature by Gunawan et al (2018), this research does another two methods for problem solving, they are Fuzzy Simple Additive Weighting (F-SAW) and Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (F-AHP). The main purpose of this research is to compare Fuzzy MCDM method, which is used by Gunawan et al (2018), with F-SAW and F-AHP which is calculated in this research. Result shows that Naval Base III is the best location from Fuzzy MCDM and F-AHP, but the best location from F-SAW method is Naval Base I.

Abstract

The issue of the environment has been a worldwide concerns. As an effort to solve this problem, then the development began to direct to sustainable development. In the education sector, these efforts have been implemented with the eco campus program. Therefore, experiment to engineer the new report writing format that can minimize paper usage is necessary. This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of factors of font size, leading, line length, and interaction between factors. In addition, it is performed to determine which treatment can produce the fastest reading speed response, but with the most efficient use of paper. In this experiment, the respondents were randomly assigned to one of the eight different combination of the level and factor with 12 pt or 10 pt (font size), 1 or 1.5 (leading), and A4 or A5 (line length). Then do the analysis of variance by using randomized block design to know the effect of the factors. Factors that significantly affect reading speed are the factor of font size as well as the interaction between the leading factor and the line length factor. This conclusion is reliable because the value of coefficient varience in this experiments is 18.22%.

Abstract

In the period of 2014-2019, the implementation of infrastructure projects was encouraged everywhere with the aim of national connectivity and the smooth flow of national goods. This initiative has an impact on the welfare of the community in the form of poverty alleviation, reducing inequality in the development of Western and Eastern Indonesia, job creation and national competitiveness. Evaluation of the implementation of infrastructure projects shows in general the green report cards for project accomplishments, but on the other hand there are still inherent problems in the implementation in the field, especially regarding land acquisition, overlapping regulations, financing and conflicts of interest. Management of infrastructure projects requires a project management system that is different from conventional project management. In the framework of program management, this national program is managed in coordination across ministries, institutions with the aim of accelerating completion. The purpose of this paper is to describe the Meutic Machine approach as an alternative way of working in program management in the context of accelerating the achievement of national strategic projects in the 2014-2019 RPJMN. The Maeutic Machine Approach aims to question the potential risks to the achievement of a project with a procedural cycle. With this analytical engine coupled with coordination, monitoring and evaluation, it is expected that the implementation of portfolio projects can run well. The Meutic Machine approach is focused on questioning the possibilities systematically, and this is an advantage of the Maeutic Machine.
