Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students experiencing a decline in grades in certain subjects, not understanding the use of learning applications and having difficulty concentrating on learning. This is due to changes in learning situations that were previously face-to-face turned into online learning. This study aims to describe the factors that cause student learning difficulties in participating in online learning and the efforts of counseling teachers to overcome them. This type of research is descriptive using quantitative methods. The study population consisted of 408 students of SMA Negeri 13 Padang who were registered in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 school year, with a sample of 202. The sample selection used a proportional random sampling technique. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that the factors causing student learning difficulties in participating in online learning were generally in the high enough category. And based on indicators (1) the low factor of technology use is in the high enough category with a percentage of 33.17%, (2) the limited factor of facilities and infrastructure is in the very low category with a percentage of 37.13%, (3) the limited internet network factor is in the very high category with a percentage of 28.71% (4) the limited cost factor of many students was in the quite high category, with a percentage of 38.12%. Furthermore, the counseling teacher's efforts in overcoming are in the high enough category and based on the indicators (1) the increase in learning motivation is in the loe category with a percentage of 58.91% (b) the development of attitudes and good learning habits is in the  sufficient category high with a percentage  of 32.67%.

Abstract

Self-confidence plays an important role in the learning process at school because with the emergence of self-confidence in students, all the potential possessed by students can be maximally developed, this is because it is supported by confidence, belief in students' attitudes towards their abilities so that they are able to perform well in the field of education. academic, non-academic and social environment in which they are located. The self-confidence that students have makes them feel capable of achieving achievements in school because students have confidence in their abilities. The research method used is an experimental research method. As for the research design, the researcher used a pre-experimental method with the type used was a one-group pretest-posttest design. Using an experimental quantitative approach. In this study, students of class X had low self-confidence. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that self-confidence can be increased through individual counseling services with a rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT).

Abstract

Today in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic, this study aims to: (1) describe the mindfulness of students in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) describe student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, and (3) test Mindfulness relationship with student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research approach used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational type. The population in this study were students of SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Limau with a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through mindfulness and student life satisfaction questionnaires in learning. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with percentage techniques, and to test for normality, linear test and the relationship between the two variables used statistical analysis using the Pearson product moment technique with the help of SPSS version 20.0 for windows. Based on the results of the study, it was found: (1) students' mindfulness was in the high category with an average percentage of 43%, (2) the life satisfaction of students was in the medium category with an average percentage of 70.3% and (3) there was a relationship between mindfulness and Student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic was 0.632 with a significant level of 99%. The implication of guidance and counseling services is that guidance and counseling teachers provide services to students related to mindfulness problems and student life satisfaction in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Readiness to learn is the overall condition of a person that makes him ready to respond or answer in the learning process. The learning process will run well if it is supported by several things, including: readiness to learn, doing assignments, reading, and so on. This study aims to: (1) describe the level of readiness of students to do assignments, (2) describe the form of student difficulties in doing assignments, and (3) the role of counseling teachers to overcome student difficulties in doing assignments at SMA N 11 Padang. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive research methods. The research subjects were students of SMA N 11 Padang at grade X and XI, totaling 224 people. Collecting data using a Likert scale model questionnaire, data were analyzed using percentage analysis techniques. The results revealed that: (1) the readiness of students to do assignments in the aspect of understanding the task was in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 60.7%, (2) the readiness of students to do assignments in the aspect of providing resources was in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 62, 5%, (3) the readiness of students to do assignments in the task completion aspect is in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 57.6%, (4) the readiness of students to do assignments in the assignment aspect is in the sufficiently ready category with an achievement score of 70%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of students who are slow in learning, for example: slow in accepting or capturing learning, slow in managing lessons, slow reading, slow reading comprehension, slow working, slow doing assignments, slow in solving problems and so on.  Children who are slow to learn are called slow learners. The inability of these students will affect themselves and affect others.  The purpose of this study were (1) To describe the case of slow learner students, (2) to determine the form of slow learner student delay, (3) to determine the case study of slow learner students. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study in the form of a case study.  The subjects in this study were five students at MAN 1 Padang Lawas North Sumatra.  The data collection instruments used in this study were interview, observation, and documentation guidelines.  The data analysis technique used in this research is thematic analysis by conducting transcripts of interviews that have been verbatim. The results of this study reveal the profile of the slow learner students carried out, the five subjects were unable to achieve their learning objectives in the process or their learning activities, the five subjects had difficulty memorizing, counting, and several other obstacles.  Unlike other students in their socialization, the five subjects preferred to be silent and did not play an active role in the class.  Meanwhile, their emotional uncontrollable causes they cannot achieve their goals in learning well.  Based on the research results, it is suggested that guidance and counseling teachers can be used as a guideline in determining the delivery of BK services, especially those related to slow learner students through information services, content mastery services and individual counseling services.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon that occurs in the field where the lack of good cooperation between parents and the school is evident in some parents only fully giving up the responsibility of educating or studying their children to the school, parents are busy working outside the home due to economic limitations. This study aims to reveal the collaboration between parents and teachers in overcoming the difficulties of students learning online during the Covid-19 period. This type of research uses quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects were 81 parents of students of SMA Negeri 2 Tilatang Kamang. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale model using percentile analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the collaboration between parents and teachers is in the good category with an average percentage of 72.84%. Details of each aspect (1) The meeting between parents and teachers during Covid was in the quite good category. (2) School communication with parents is in good category. (3) improving children's learning outcomes is in the good category. (4) Home visits are in the good category. (5) School visits are in good category. (6) Providing data to each other is in the good category. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that counselors increase parent-teacher collaboration by compiling a counseling program related to parent-teacher collaboration in overcoming student learning difficulties online.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are still students who are unsure and confused about themselves in making decisions, especially on career choices. Confusion and uncertainty make it difficult for students to determine careers. This study aims to describe: (1) students' advanced career choices after graduating from high school to choose further education or work, (2) the level of self-efficacy of students who will complete high school to go to further education or work, and (3) find a relationship between self-efficacy with high school student career choices. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlational research type. The population of this study were students of class XII SMAN 14 Padang and the sample was 150 students. The instrument used was a scaled questionnaire which was analyzed using the percentage scale technique and the relationship between the two variables was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation technique. The results showed that (1) the level of self-efficacy of students in the high category with an average percentage achievement score of 78.4%, (2) the career choice ability of students are in the high category with an average percentage score of 79%, (3) there is a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and career choices of students with a correlation value of 0.446 at the 99% significance level. Thus it can be interpreted that the higher the student's self-efficacy, the higher the career choice ability for students and vice versa. Based on the research results, it is suggested that counselors at SMAN 14 Padang can provide assistance to students to increase self-efficacy with provide counseling guidance in the field of career guidance with material on the types of work available in the community, regarding the gradation of positions within the scope of a position, regarding the requirements for the stage and type of education, regarding the position classification system, regarding future prospects related to the real needs of society for types of features or specific job.
