Abstract

Background: Stroke is a disorder caused by dysfunction of the blood supply to the brain which is divided into hemorrhagic subdivisions which are conceptualized as rupture of the cerebral blood vessels, and ischemia which appears in the blood circulation. Stroke can cause muscle weakness or coordination of body movements. Rubber ball grip exercise stimulates an increase in neuromuscular and muscular chemical activity. This will stimulate the limb muscle nerve fibers, especially the parasympathetic nerves to produce acetylcholine, resulting in contractions that can increase muscle strength. Objective: To apply a rubber ball hand-held exercise intervention to the muscle strength of the elderly with stroke. Methods: The method used in writing is a case report with the intervention of holding rubber ball exercises in the elderly with strokes who experience muscle weakness, carried out for 3 days. Results: The results of this case study show that after holding the rubber ball exercise intervention for 3 days, muscle strength can increase from a scale of 2 to 3. Conclusion: Rubber ball grip exercise is effective for increasing muscle strength in elderly patients with stroke

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease which is a problem in the health sector and is often found in primary health care facilities. Based on data from the Gorontalo District Health Office for 2021, hypertension ranks first, with 16,999 cases. Hypertension sufferers in the elderly ?60 years, namely 6,566 people with the highest order being at the Tabongo Health Center with a total number of hypertension sufferers of 1,371 people. This study uses a descriptive quantitative research design with an analytic cross sectional study approach. The population in this study were all elderly people with hypertension in October 2022 with a total of 108 elderly people aged 60-90 years, both men and women at the Tabongo Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. Determination of the sample size was carried out using the Slovin formula, namely as many as 52 respondents. The data obtained were then analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that based on the results of the Chi-Square test, a Sig (2-sided) value of 0.021 was obtained, which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between cholesterol levels in the blood and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at the Tabongo Health Center, Gorontalo Regency.

Abstract

Mental health is a harmony in life that is created between the functions of the soul and the ability to overcome problems. Mental health policies are still limited and not yet integrated. Indonesia is also committed to achieving SDGs and UHC. The purpose of this research is to review mental health policies in Indonesia and evaluate the extent to which these policies support the achievement of the SDGs and UHC. This study uses a literature study to examine different methods. The article search strategy uses an online database, namely Google Scholar and this research uses a literature review methodology. There is a need for comprehensive mental health services to be made part of the SDGs and UHC. The government continues to pursue various mental health policies in order to reduce the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia. However, several mental health programs that have been prepared still have deficiencies in the implementation process. The lack of availability of psychotropic drugs at the puskesmas and the existence of a report format that is not yet uniform and the presence of mental health recording and reporting officers are obstacles in the practice of mental health policy in Indonesia. Therefore, sufficient quality data is needed to formulate effective policies so that efforts to deal with mental health at the primary and secondary health service levels are far more optimal. So that continuous improvement can be carried out to reduce the prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia.
