Abstract

Pneumonia is a form of acute respiratory infection most often caused by viruses or bacteria. It can cause mild to life-threatening illness in people of all ages, but it is the single largest cause of infectious death in children worldwide (1). Pneumonia killed more than 808,000 children under 5 years of age in 2017, accounting for 15% of all deaths of children under 5 years. (1). It is known that the results of Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2013 also showed a high prevalence of pneumonia in toddlers, namely 4.5 per 100 toddlers. This means, 4.5 out of 100 toddlers suffer from pneumonia (2). The lungs are made up of tiny sacs called alveoli, which fill with air when a healthy person breathes. When a person has pneumonia, the alveoli fill with pus and fluid, which makes breathing painful and limits oxygen intake. This infection is generally spread by direct contact with an infected person (1)

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a deadly cancer for women but some medication could be applied, such as chemotherapy. Chemotherapy has some side effects on these patients if they do not obey. This research determined the correlation between the distance coverage and the side effects on the obedience of cervical cancer patients with chemotherapy at DR. Moewardi Surakarta regional hospital. This quantitative research applied a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 102 cervical cancer patients with chemotherapy. The researchers took the sample with purposive sampling. The samples were 49 patients measured with the questionnaire of chemotherapy obedience and chemotherapy side effect; and the observational guideline of distance coverage. The results showed that most respondents had a far category distance, 45 respondents (91.8%) and maladaptive side effect type, 37 respondents (75.5%). The Spearman rank test showed the correlation between the distance coverage and the obedience with a p-value of 0.004, lower than 0.05. The result also showed the correlation between side effects and obedience with a p-value of 0.044, lower than 0.05. The results found a correlation between the distance coverage and side effects toward the obedience of cervical cancer chemotherapy.

Its location can be localized, for example on the elbows, knees or scalp or affect almost 100% of the body area. The prevalence of psoriasis varies from 1 to 12% among different populations worldwide with a male to female ratio of 1:1. The cause of psoriasis until now is still unclear and what is already known are the factors that influence the onset of psoriasis based on epidemiological data, including nation, region, climate, heredity, and other factors.

Abstract

Diabetic retinopathy is the most common cause of blindness found in adults between 20 and 74 years of age, where diabetic patients have a risk of being 25 times more likely to develop complications than nondiabetics. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristic hyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. Chronic hyperglycemia in diabetes is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction or failure of several organs, especially the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels. Treatment for diabetic retinopathy relies almost exclusively on the management of metabolic dysregulation of diabetes mellitus until the severity of vascular lesions required laser surgery

Abstract

Background: One of the causes is abortion with a prevalence of 5%. This study aims to determine the relationship between anemia and maternal disease with the incidence of abortion. Method: This type of research uses observational analytic with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique is total sampling, with a total sample of 46 respondents. Data were taken by retrospective observation of respondents' medical records. The analysis technique uses the Chi-Square test. Results: Statistical test results show a significant relationship between anemia and abortion (pv=0.035), there is a significant relationship between maternal disease and abortion (pv=0.017) Conclusion: Maternal factors inherent in the mother such as hemoglobin status and maternal disease need to be monitored. This monitoring can be done when the mother visits ANC visits, therefore it is recommended that mothers continue to consume iron tablets during pregnancy as much as 90 tablets to meet hemoglobin needs, and also make regular ANC visits.

Abstract

More than 5,000 babies are born suffering  thalassemia (beta thalassemia major and beta thalassemia Hb E) annually from around the world and 80% of births occur in developing countries (Kantharaj & Chandrashekar, 2018). In Indonesia alone, the frequency of beta thalassemia genes ranges from 3-10% with 2,500 babies born each year and there are 10,531 more patients experiencing thalassemia (Kemenkes, 2019). The general objective of this study was to identify the relationship between nutritional status and changes in hemoglobin levels after transfusion in children with thalassemia at RSD Gunungjati Cirebon. This research method uses descriptive correlation by using a cross sectional. The sample of this research is thalassemia in Gunung Jati Hospital, Cirebon City, totaling 35 respondents using  accidental sampling technique. The instrument used is a data and measurement recapitulation sheet. The nutritional status data recapitulation sheet containing components (gender, age, weight, TB) and measurement of Hb before and after blood transfusion using EasyTouch GCHB, as well as data analysis using the Spearman rank, was carried out on July 4-15, 2022. The results of the univariate analysis of the study This is in the category of good nutritional status as many as 18 respondents (51.4%) and an increase in hemoglobin levels of 18 respondents (51.4%) in thalassemia children at Gunungjati Hospital, Cirebon. The results of this study found that there was no relationship between nutritional status and changes in hemoglobin levels in thalassemia children at RSD Gunungjati Cirebon with a value (p = 0.252 > = 0.05).Suggestions for this study are that families and patients should strive to carry out the education provided by nurses and explore more knowledge related to thalassemia, especially nutritional intake.
