Data at the Ranomeeto Health Center showed that there were 155 infants aged 3-6 months with upper respiratory tract infections in 2013. In 2014 (January-July) 50 babies were infected with ARI and 29 of them were undernourished This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in infants aged 3-6 months. This research is a descriptive analytic study with a Cross Sectional Study approach. The population in the study were all infants 3-6 months suffering from upper respiratory tract infections as many as 50 people and a sample of 50 people who were taken by Total Sampling. Data were obtained using a questionnaire and tested using the Chi-Square test. The conclusion in this study is that there is a weak relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in infants aged 3-6 months in the working area of the Ranomeeto Public Health Center, Konawe Selatan Regency with a value of X2 hit = 5.82 < X2 table = 3, 84 and P=0.016. Suggestions for mothers to give colostrum to their babies, for mothers of babies to maintain the nutritional status of their babies by providing proper nutrition. For Educational Institutions so that the results of this study can be a reference for further researchers. For this public health center, it is hoped that it can provide information to the government and related agencies in determining policies and planning programs for overcoming upper respiratory tract infections

Abstract

The growth and development of infants is largely determined by the amount of breast milk obtained, including energy and other nutrients contained in the breast milk. If the mother's health after giving birth is good, breastfeeding is the most ideal way of feeding for the first 4-6 months from birth, because breast milk can meet the nutritional needs of the baby. After breast milk no longer contains enough protein and calories, a baby begins to need complementary drinks/foods. This study aims to determine the relationship between breastfeeding patterns and weaning age with the nutritional status of children under two years old (6-24 months) in Kendari City in 2014. This research is an analytical descriptive with a cross sectional study design and has been carried out from 21 to 28 February 2014 in Kendari City. The population in this study were all mothers who had children under the age of 6-24 months in Kendari City, namely 415 people and a sample of 52 people who were taken by purposive sampling, the data was obtained using a questionnaire and tested using the Chi-Square test. The results of the study were obtained from 33 Baduta whose nutritional status was lacking, most of which were 77.8% of their breastfeeding patterns in the category and from 19 Badutas whose nutritional status was adequate, most of them, namely 68.7% of their breastfeeding patterns, were in the poor category. malnutrition, mostly 76.8% of the weaning age was in the inappropriate category and of the 33 Baduta whose nutritional status was lacking, most of the 76.8% of the weaning age were in the inappropriate category. The conclusion in this study is the relationship between breastfeeding patterns and weaning age with the nutritional status of children under two years old (6-24 months) in Kendari City in 2014, with p = 0.001 for breastfeeding patterns and p = 0.015 for weaning age. Suggestions in this study are for the Kendari City Health Office to be able to determine policies in an effort to overcome the problem of undernutrition status and appropriate weaning efforts. For mothers of toddlers to increase weaning of babies at the age of 6 months. For further researchers, in order to be able to examine the factors causing the inappropriate age of weaning carried out by mothers under two years old and the causes of low nutritional status under two years

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) babies are babies who when born weigh less than 2,500 grams. Many factors influence the incidence of LBW, including maternal pariety, the distance between pregnancy and maternal anemia status. This study aims to determine the risk factors for maternal age, birth spacing and maternal anemia status on the incidence of LBW in the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Southeast Sulawesi Province. This research was conducted on 6 – 12 August 2008 in the midwifery nursery and delivery room at the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Hospital. Sampling was carried out using a total sampling technique with a case control approach with criteria for mothers who gave birth to the second pariety or more so that the total sample was 117 people and control was 117 people. Data were collected using a data collection form. From the results of the study of 117 samples using the ODS ratio (OR), the value of the upper limit (Upper Limit) and the lower limit (lower limit) showed that there was no relationship between maternal age, birth spacing and anemia status of pregnant women on the incidence of LBW, where the OR factor was the risk between maternal age and the incidence of LBW is 1.037, Ul = 1.8 and LL = 0.052, the risk factor between birth spacing and the incidence of LBW is OR = 1, UL = 8.5 and LL = 0.11 and for anemia status of pregnant women shows OR = 1.419, UL = 7.235 and LL = 0.28. From the results of the study concluded that the prevalence of LBW births was 13.74% and the prevalence of LBW births was 83.40%, with mothers aged 18-42 years, both giving birth to LBW and BBLN. Birth spacing is at risk not only for LBW babies but also for LBW babies and the maternal anemia status is in two categories, namely anemia and non-anaemia, both in LBW babies and LBW babies. maternal anemia status on the incidence of LBW. Suggestions to related agencies to provide knowledge in the form of counseling about the influence of age, birth spacing and anemia status to mothers regarding things that can be risk factors for the incidence of LBW so that the incidence of LBW can decrease in the following year.

Abstract

The use of injectable contraceptives, both monthly and quarterly injections, has a major side effect, namely changes in body weight. Factors that influence changes in body weight of injectable contraceptive acceptors are the presence of a strong progesterone hormone that stimulates the appetite hormone in the hypothalamus. The side effect of 3-month injectable contraceptives with the highest frequency is weight gain, the aim is to determine the relationship of 3-month injectable contraceptives with weight gain in the work area of Mokoau Kendari Permai Health Center in 2016. This study used an analytic survey method, with a cross sectional study design approach. The population in this study were acceptors of 3-month injectable contraceptives as many as 105 respondents and the sampling method was simple random sampling technique in the work area of Mokoau Kendari Permai Health Center in 2016. The results of statistical tests using Chi-Square obtained value = 0.000 < = 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means there is a relationship between the use of 3-month injectable contraception with weight gain in the work area of Mokoau Kendari Permai Health Center in 2016. Based on the phi coefficient test, a value of 0.479 was obtained, indicating a moderate relationship between the use of 3-month injectable contraceptives and weight gain in the work area of Mokoau Kendari Permai Health Center in 2016. This research can be used as consideration for further research. Through a larger number of respondents and a number of variables, such as age, food intake, lifestyle, activity, etc., as well as midwives and other health workers, they can provide counseling about the side effects of 3-month injectable contraception, there is no concern for acceptors of 3-month injectable contraception.

The population in this study were patients who smoked and did not smoke which were then selected to be a random sample, namely random sampling and met the specified sample criteria as many as 52 respondents. Collecting data by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of the study were processed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of < 0.05. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between perception and smoking behavior in adolescents in Tangguluri Village, Asera District, North Regency (p = 0.001). There is a need for a review by the government regarding more appropriate policies to create a better perception of the dangers of smoking
