Abstract

This study aims to analyze criminal law enforcement that has occurred and has fulfilled the community's sense of justice (victims of criminal acts and the contribution of civil law science in the practice of criminal law enforcement). The research was conducted qualitatively by using a statutory approach and normative juridical research. The results of the research show firstly that the practice of enforcing criminal law based on Law Number 8 of 1981 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code as a formal law still emphasizes "retributive" forms of justice. The form of compensation (restitution), the recovery of losses suffered by the victims, has not been accommodated properly, so that the community, especially victims of crime, feels that they have not fulfilled their sense of justice. Second, the contribution and role of civil law in criminal law enforcement are very relevant. One of them is by filing a claim for payment of restitution, including by filing a civil suit against the convict's family for the payment of restitution. so that there will be legal certainty for victims of criminal acts about the responsibility of the perpetrators in relation to restitution for violations of the rights of victims of criminal acts.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of international trade openness on regional inequality in Indonesia's provinces by using the concept of economic geography. Other factors such as geographic accessibility, labor share in the manufacturing sector, population, and government expenditure are also estimated. This study uses panel econometric analysis. The data used from 33 provinces in Indonesia from 2003-to 2018 was obtained from Statistic Indonesia (BPS). The result shows that international trade openness has a positive effect on increasing inequality between regions. However, openness to international trade hurts increasing inequality between regions if it is supported by geographic accessibility. The economic dispersion causes this due to cost efficiency and competitive forces. In addition, the share of labor in the manufacturing sector has no effect. However, the population and the government expenditure have a positive and significant effect on regional inequality. Positive exports tend to reduce regional inequality. Each province's exports and imports also affect this result.

Abstract

Legally, Indonesia adheres to a preference for religious education with a mono-religious model. Ideally, every adherent of an institutional religion registered in Indonesia has the right to receive religious education according to their respective religions. This is also in accordance with international human rights law. Through this study, it was found that not all religious adherents received religious education according to their religion. Although there are respondents who have experience following religious education in accordance with their religion, view other groups negatively and feel disturbed by the activities of other religious groups, in general this study shows that those who belong to diverse religious groups do not experience difficulties in inter-group contact.

Abstract

Financial accounting, as a branch of science from social science, practically describes the behavior of the presenters of financial statements. This study is confirmatory descriptive research, data obtained from the annual reports of banking companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study constructs a research model using four variables: accounting conservatism, managerial ownership, debt covenants, and political costs. The data is processed using path analysis, and the test is carried out through two stages: testing the direct and indirect effects. The direct effect finding proved that the bonus plan, debt covenant, and political cost hypothesis had been significantly practiced. Another direct influence finding also proved that managerial ownership has a significant effect on debt covenants and that political costs have a significant effect on debt covenants. This research also demonstrated that debt covenants could not mitigate the impact of political costs and managerial ownership on accounting conservatism practice. The board of commissioners, as the highest supervisory body and the supervisory units, has the responsibility to control the opportunistic behavior of managers so that banks can effectively practice a healthy financial statements process and so that public trust in banks increases.
