GEMASSIKA: jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat diharapkan dapat menjadi media untuk menyampaikan temuan, inovasi dan penerapan teknologi ilmiah dibidang kesehatan yang didukung oleh para praktisi di bidang kesehatan. GEMASSIKA: jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat diterbitkan 2 kali dalam setahun ( Mei dan Nopember ) oleh Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Aisyiyah Surakarta. Abstract

The implementation integrated health center of adolences begins in 2018 at Aur Duri Primary Health Care, the number of adolescent visits has decreased due to one of them being established and there is no specific method in providing information and education communication (IEC) reproductive health. The target activities are 30 adolescents in Penyengat Rendah from April to June 2019. These community service activities through 3 stages of activity: the pre-implementation stage determining and obtaining a response letter from partners, arranging cooperation and determining goals activities, determine fun and flexible methods, determine activities which include lectures, discussion of Buzz Group methods and IEC practices. The implementation phase includes the provision of information about IEC through discussions using the Buzz Group and IEC practices. The post-implementation phase evaluates the knowledge and skills in providing IEC. The results of knowledge tests showed differences in the mean knowledge before and after using the Buzz Group of 3.133. The conclusion was level of achievement the target good, and adolescents feel the many benefits received increasing knowledge and skills of giving IEC to their peers. It is recommended for Primary Health care can develop this activity in other integrated health center of adolescent

Abstract

The irregular antenatal care (ANC) visit during pregnancy can cause problems on pregnancy, childbirth, puerperal, lactation, and infant mortality. The ANC examination in Bantul for pregnant women K4 in 2005 was below target. In Trukan, there were several pregnant women who did not do routine ANC visit, faced problems during pregnancy, and low birth weight infants. People have not received health education about ANC. The target of the output of community service activities is to improve knowledge pregnant women and women in their reproductive age about ANC and publication to national journals. Method used was health education by mass lecturing and discussion using power point and leaflets. Community service is carried out in Trukan, Segoroyoso, Pleret, Bantul in November 2019 in one meeting. The target were 40 pregnant women and women in their reproductive age. There were pre-test and post-test on ANC to find the knowledge level of the participants. The conducted health education is able to improve the average value of knowledge about ANC of pregnant women and women in their reproductive age in Trukan is 16 point. The knowledge level of pregnant women and women in their reproductive age does not entirely affect the regularity of ANC visit.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe task of a child's independence in carrying out activities for himself is increasingly developing at preschool age, so parents need to know the development and achievement of children's abilities according to their age. This knowledge is needed so that parents can train children in achieving developmental tasks such as self-care and become a role model for children to practice good health behaviors, one of which is to maintain dental hygiene. The results of this educational package include 2 things. From the child's side, the results of education and demonstration about brushing teeth are that the child is able to mention the frequency and the right time to brush teeth, the impact if irregularly brushing teeth, the right time to replace the old toothbrush with a new one, and be able to show how to brush teeth as has been exemplified before. While in terms of parents, there was an increase in the average knowledge of parents before and after the provision of education by 27.68%. At the end of the activity, the parent participant expressed his desire to begin to recognize the child's developmental achievements according to his age. The conclusion of the health education activities provided is the increased ability of children to information about dental health and the willingness to perform self-care optimally according to their age stages. Furthermore, it is important to hold continuing education to realize the importance of monitoring the development of preschool children which includes language, psychosocial, psychosexual, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual development.

Abstract

Stunting was a disruption growth problems because of deficiency nutritional intake in a long periode and unappropriate feeding practice. Riskesdas stated that Bondowoso’s stunting rate  was still the third highest in East Java. The stunting rate in Bondowoso was 38% of total childrens under five, meanwhile the threshold determined by WHO was 20%. This activity aimed to increase the knowledge about stunting and skills to determine the toddler’s nutritional status of the mother in TK Kartika IX-37 Bondowoso. This activity was conducted among 35 toddler’s mother in TK Kartika IX-37 Bondowoso. The details of the activity were (1) education about stunting;(2) demonstration about anthropometry measurement and read the Z score curve; (3) education about determined the appropriate source of protein. The results of this activity showed an increased in knowledge related to stunting and appropriate protein source for children growth, evidenced by the mothers were able to answer and demonstrated anthropometry measurement correctly.

Abstract

Adolescents who get information about reproductive health are only about 59% in young women and 55% in young men. As many as 12% of pregnancies occur in adolescent girls and 7% of adolescent boys are forced to have a partner resulting from an unexpected pregnancy. At SMPN6 Ruteng-Rentung, every year there are two or more students who drop out of school by reason of pregnancy outside marriage and that marriage and the students have not received counseling about reproductive health. Targets and outcomes which are the main objectives of increasing adolescent knowledge about reproductive health so as to reduce the number of pregnancy events outside of marriage. The method of implementation includes a pretest with a questionnaire continuing counseling about adolescent reproductive health and ending with a post-test using the same questions at the pre-test. The results obtained from 95 adolescents, before giving counseling there were 11 adolescents (11.5%) with good knowledge and 84 adolescents (88.5%) with less knowledge. After being given counseling about reproductive health, as many as 73 adolescents (76.8%) had good knowledge and 22 adolescents (23.2%) with less knowledge. Counseling about reproductive health activities are proven to increase knowledge of adolescents about reproductive health.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a problem of health in both urban and semi-urban areas. DHF disease has been a deadly disease since the year 2013. In the health profile of the city of Semarang 2017 Gedawang area is included in the red zone area with the high number of events DHF. Through the DHF Health Care Village program is expected to increase the knowledge and the role of society in realizing a healthy village DHF response. The method of implementing the program is done by providing counseling and simulation. At the end of this activity resulted in an increase in knowledge and community participation in the realization of a healthy village DHF response and when the evaluation is done already formed a report of the Free Numbers Mosquito Repellent each week pasted on the board in each neighbourhood, routine inspection of the Mosquito Repellent, lavender and lemongrass garden and signing of DHF response Village commitment

Abstract

Vertigo is a sensation of movement from the body like turning without actual rotation. Vertigo is not always caused by a dangerous disease, but in the long term and if not treated immediately vertigo will cause some adverse effects on quality of life to death. This counseling activity aims to introduce the concept of vertigo, signs and symptoms and practice ways to recognize and eliminate the symptoms of vertigo to the Aisyiyah women's group in Leuwisari sub-district. The outreach activities were carried out by way of explanation and discussion on 65 members of Aisyiyah in the Leuwisari sub-district at the Baiturrahman mosque on October 4, 2019. Before and after the counseling, participants were given a questionnaire to evaluate the activities as a measure of the success of the activity. In this health education activitites the participants of the activity gained increased knowledge compared to before the implementation of health education was given. The results of this activity showed that 62% of participants gave a very good assessment and 21% gave a good level of health education activities about vertigo. The author suggests that this activity can be carried out routinely to community groups by the local public health center.

Abstract

The incidence of non communicable disease (NCD) such as heart disease, diabetes mellitus, stroke, chronic kidney desease, and obesity in Gorontalo tends to be increase, which is above the national prevalence. The predisposition of NCD generally identified from the incidence of metabolic syndrome which is characterized by obesity, increased triglycerides and blood glucose, low high density lipoprotein (HDL) and hypertension. Metabolic syndrom can increase the incidence of morbidity and mortality due to vascular disease. Early detection the risk of metabolic syndrome can be done through empowering health cadres in carrying out a family based approach in the community. So that the progression of metabolic syndrome can be prevent towards NCD disease. The aim of training health cadres is (1) increasing the role of health cadres in improving health status (2) increasing the abilities and skills of health cadres in identifying risk factors for metabolic syndrome. Implementation of activities in the form of delivering material with lecture methods, interactive discussions and direct practice. The media used in this training was power points, modules and a few materials to support the practice of measuring blood pressure, nutritional status base on body mass index, blood glucose and cholesterol profile. Evaluation of activities using a questionnaire before and after training. The results was indicated an increase in the knowledge and skills of health cadres after attending the training.

Abstract

There were 90 AIDS sufferers in Surakarta City in 2015 and continued to increase in the following years in line with the increase in sexual behavior outside of marriage. Most of the children who are related to HIV AIDS sufferers are ostracized by their families and the surrounding community and even neglect by their biological families. This causes many problems such as caregivers who are irritable, uncomfortable, depressed, feeling bored, leaving the home, and so on. This community service aims to reduce depression in foster children and caregivers in shelters for AIDS sufferers. The methods used are 1). Program socialization and shared perceptions. 2). Pre test depression score. 3). Spiritual counseling and mentoring with a Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) approach. 4) Post test for depression score. Twenty HIV / AIDS sufferers are willing to take part in this activity. The result was that the mean score of depression before mentoring was 21.05 (depression) and 17.1 (not depression) after mentoring. Thirteen participants managed to lower their depression score, six participants remained and one person increased. This assistance has an impact on participants to be more enthusiastic in living life.

Abstract

Adolescent pregnancy remains a major issue in terms of health and social as it relates to morbidity and mortality of mothers and children. Therefore, a more holistic approach is required to support adolescent mothers to have a better quality of life. This empowering project, conducted in Oelasin Village, Southwest Rote, NTT was to empower psychologically and economically 20 adolescent mothers to have a normal life again and a chance of having equal position in household. Three days of an intensive self-esteem building program was undertaken to restore the self- esteem of the 20 participants and to improve their ability to cope with stigma and motherhood. The training consisted of three main activities, such as self-esteem materials and exercises, interpersonal counseling, and sharing experiences. The training was then followed with shredded fish (abon ikan) making training as an economic empowerment training that provided a sustainable relevant skill for the participants to generate income.  At the final stage, participants joined in eight months of mentoring on shredded fish production and promotion activities. Through the participation in this project, the 20 teenage mothers are empowered to build a better quality of life for themselves and their families, and their environment in general.
