GEMASSIKA: jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat diharapkan dapat menjadi media untuk menyampaikan temuan, inovasi dan penerapan teknologi ilmiah dibidang kesehatan yang didukung oleh para praktisi di bidang kesehatan. GEMASSIKA: jurnal pengabdian kepada masyarakat diterbitkan 2 kali dalam setahun ( Mei dan Nopember ) oleh Pusat Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Aisyiyah Surakarta. Redaksi mengundang para pemerhati kesehatan untuk menuangkan gagasan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis research dalam rangka meningkatkan profesional diri dan tanggung jawab terhadap pendidikan bangsa. Jurnal ini terbit pertama bulan November tahun 2017 dengan identitas terbitan Vol 1 No 2 (2017) sebagai syarat pengajuan E-ISSN. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Difteri merupakan penyakit bakteri akut yang menyerang faring, laring, tonsil, hidung, terkadang menyerang selaput lendir atau kulit, konjungtiva, dan vagina. Difteri merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kejadian luar biasa (KLB). Edukasi mengenai imunisasi harus senantiasa diberikan oleh setiap petugas kesehatan pada setiap kesempatan bertemu orang tua pasien. Pelaksanaan tindakan preventif dan kuratif terhadap difteri dengan memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat melalui media lokal seperti radio, TV, surat kabar, atau majalah, serta menyebarkan leaflet berisi penjelasan tentang penyakit, penanggulangan serta pencegahannya.  Metode Pelaksanaan: Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan cara penyuluhan kesehatan tentang difteri dan tindakan pencegahannya dengan gerakan sadar imunisasi “GESAMUN”. Hasil dari kegiatan ini peserta aktif dalam mengkuti kegiatan dan mampu berperan serta dalam meningkatkan gerakan sadar imunisasi bagi masyarakat.. Kesimpulan:. Pemberdayaaan kader melalui penyuluhan kesehatan tentang difteri dan tindakan pencegahannya dengan gerakan sadar imunisasi “GESAMUN mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang penyakit difteri dan imunisasinya pada kader kesehatan untuk menggerakkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam partisipasi keikutsertaan imunisasi.

Abstract

 Background: Cervical cancer in Indonesia occupies the top position as a malignancy that causes death in women. Cervical cancer that infects women can actually be detected in various ways. One of them is through IVA examination. IVA examination is easy and inexpensive. But there are many obstacles that occur, so the majority of women are reluctant to do so. Embarrassed, feeling that there are no complaints and lack of knowledge dominates many women who are not willing to do an IVA examination. Objective: Community service is to increase knowledge about early detection of cervical cancer through IVA examination. Method: This activity was conducted one day in the form of an interactive discussion with material about early detection of cervical cancer. Based on observations during community service activities, several positive results were obtained, such as: 1). Participants consisting of 45 participants consisting of student guardians and teachers 2). The participants were active in the question and answer session. Results: Increased knowledge regarding methods of early detection of cervical cancer. The post-test results found 35 participants or 78% of participants answered correctly. Abstract

Midwives who are at the forefront of maternal and child health services, must have knowledge, skills and attitudes to be continuous and increasing.  One of the innovations that can be applied in antenatal class is pregnancy exercises  use of  birth ball. Pregnancy exercises  use of  birth ball is physical exercise therapy for pregnant women use of birth ball as a tool to improve comfort and fitness during pregnancy. Socialization of pregnancy exercises  use of  birth ball for midwife purpose  to increase the knowledge of midwives about the benefits of birth ball and improve the skills of midwifes in providing maternity care to pregnant women so that midwives can teach pregnant women pregnancy exercises  use of  birth ball . The obvective of this activity is midwives who are directly involved in maternal and child health services and pregnant womenz. The conclusion is socialization of pregnancy exercises  use of  birth in antenatal class for midwifes is well. Midwifes understand about benefit use of birth ball and can teach pregnant women pregnancy exercises  use of  birth ball.

Abstract

Some companies, including Google and Apple allow their employees to take a nap at work, and science proves that this is a very good idea. Studies show that short nap for 10 to 15 minutes increase mental efficiency and productivity, which is a small investment in time for big results in corporate morale and production. The purpose of this community service activity is to identify the benefits of napping for employees of the Department of Midwifery at the Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health in Padang. If they feel the benefits, of course they can apply it on a daily basis during office breaks in addition to prayer and lunch. This Community Service Activity is carried out on September 19 to November 1, 2019. Community Service Activity is carried out every day if employees have time for a nap. Most of the employees consisting of lecturers and education staff feel that taking a naps provides benefits, eliminates fatigue, and makes the body work more enthusiastic because it feels fresher. It is expected that the Department of Midwifery or the Poltekkes of the Ministry of Health in Padang can implement the Naps method or make a nap program in its office.

Abstract

The quality of a child can be assessed from the process of growth and development. The process of growth and development is the result of the interaction of genetic factors and environmental factors. Genetic factors are factors related to genes originating from father and mother, while environmental factors include biological, physical, psychological, and social environments. Children under five are one of the populations most at risk from various health problems. The mother is the closest person to the child who provides care. Mothers must be equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills to stimulate child growth and development. The quality of growth and development of children is determined by the care of the family, especially parents. Mothers are very instrumental in the stimulation and early detection of developmental deviations. Toddler Mother Class is a class where mothers who have children aged between 0 to 5 years jointly discuss, exchange opinions, exchange experiences of fulfilling health services, nutrition and stimulation of growth and development. The empowering mother of children under five in the class of mother of children under five to increase the ability to monitor growth and development of infants aims to improve the ability to monitor growth and development of child.

Abstract

The traditional fisherman dive to get a lot of fish, they called traditional divers. The majority of traditional divers do not use equalization techniques while diving, because they have an assume that equalization techniques is not important. The traditional divers also have some signs of barotrauma symptoms such as headaches, ear pain, feeling full in the ears, chest pain, dizziness after diving. The incidence of barotrauma can be reduced if traditional divers can do equalization technique while diving. The target and output are they have better knowledge, skills and awareness to use equalization techniques while diving to prevent barotrauma independently. The method of activities was a seminar and workshop on day 1, demonstration and role play on day 2. The activity was held on 27-28 July 2019, the subject was 70 traditional divers at Kedung Cowek District Surabaya, and was delivered by lecturers and students of STIKES Hang Tuah Surabaya. They have beenbetter improvement in knowledge, skills and awareness of they standard diving procedures, especially in equalization technique to prevent barotrauma.

Abstract

Acupressure is a technique using touch / contact to balance the energy channels in the body or Qi. Acupressure contests useful for disease prevention, cure, rehabilitation (recovery), relaxation and increase endurance. Acupressure can also be used to treat pain during menstruation (dysmenorrhea). Target and outcome: an increase in knowledge and skills of women, the leaflets about the relaxation of the body and reduce dysmenorrhea, as well as community service articles published. Methods: divided into four sessions, namely working on the pretest, delivery of content and practice of acupressure, question and answer sessions working on the posttest. Submission of material is done by means of lectures and brainstorming as well as the demonstration of acupressure points used. Result: there is an increased knowledge of the pretest and posttest value of the average value before training (pre-test) 32.86 into 71.84 (post-test), in addition to the upgrading of skills seen from acupressure point positioning accuracy. Conclusion: The community service is to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants on acupressure to relax the body and overcome dysmenorrhoea.

Abstract

One of the health problems in Rejosari Hamlet is about clean and healthy living behavior, especially in terms of solid waste management, as evidenced by the absence of a landfill that is equal to 14.04%. The surrounding community is accustomed to littering, either thrown in rivers, empty gardens, or even thrown in the yard of a house. If left unchecked will cause pollution and malaria. To overcome this, promotive and preventive movements are carried out, specifically regarding waste management. The method used is descriptive qualitative research that describes the real condition of the community with direct observation. The sampling technique is the Total Sampling method. Residents of Rejosari Hamlet welcomed positively and hoped that no one would litter. Residents say that the level of knowledge about clean and healthy behavior is increasing. Increased knowledge and awareness of Dusun residents about clean and healthy living behaviors especially in waste management increased by 45% and residents understood good waste management.

Abstract

Background: Preliminary studies found variations in sleep habits, coping mechanism and cavities and dirty teeth on school-age children. Resolving health problems that occur in children requires a family center care approach. Objective: Increasing parental knowledge about sleep health and adaptive coping mechanism of children and increasing children’s knowledge about oral health. Method: This activity is carried out for 3 days. The first day and third day counseling about sleep health and dental and oral health for children through snakes and ladder’s game and video of tooth brush and sleep. Activity on second day was counseling to all parents of school children about adaptive coping mechanism and children's sleep health. Based on observations on these activities, several positive impacts were found including; 1)Children and parents were involved in activities, all children were involved and more than 50% of parents participated in the activity, 2)The child looks enthusastic of the games and videos that were shown, parents looked enthusiastic asking during the counseling. Results: There were significant increasing knowledge in children about oral health and significant increasing knowledge in parents immediately after counseling and decreasing knowledge after 3 months posttest. Conclusion: Counseling to parents and children were increasing knowledge soon after counseling.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy hypertension disorder that significantly affects the morbidity and mortality of mothers worldwide. Preeclampsia occurs in 5-7% of all pregnancies and is the leading cause of maternal mortality in developing countries. The purpose of this community devotion to detect preeclampsia in pregnant women with body mass index, ROT (Rool Over Test) and, MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure). Method of community service by conducting a collection of pregnant mothers at local midwives in PMB Sumarti, SST at Kapor village, Burneh, Bangkalan, after that gathered all pregnant women on the day of the specified and explained the purpose of devotion and counseling about preeclampsia in pregnant women, continued weighing weight, measuring height and measured Body Mass Index (BMI), performing blood pressure measurements in pregnant women through ROT and MAP and performed Interviews with providing questionnaires, giving an explanation of preeclampsia early detection on pregnant women, explaining how to prevent and what to do if preeclampsia, monitoring every month until birth. The results of this community devotion from 16 pregnant mothers who performed preeclampsia detection with BMI, ROT, and MAP were obtained 3 (18.75)% positive preeclampsia because there are 2 positive signs after the examination of the sign seen from MAP ≥ 90 and BMI ≥ 30. The Conclusion that early detection of preeclampsia is necessary to prevent complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.
