Abstract

Bandar udara merupakan infrastruktur yang sangat penting dalam suatu negara untuk mendukung konektivitas regional maupun global.Dalam pengoperasiannya, faktor keselamatan menjadi prioritas untuk menjaga keamanan dan kenyamanan semua pihak yang terlibat dalam aktivitas bandar udara. Salah satu risiko yang sering dihadapi adalah ancaman Foreign Object Debris (FOD).Salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan sebagai pengendalian risiko yaitu metode Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC). Hasil pengambilan data pada bandar udara XYZ menggunakan metode FOD didapatkan data diantaranya menimbulkan risiko sedang  yang cenderung menyebabkan incident, accident, kerusakan mesin, dan ban pesawat yang dapat mengganggu akivitas penerbangan.

Abstract

The process of finishing brake shoe products in PT XYZ's die casting department experienced waste using M steel shot 230 sand which reached 4,125 kg throughout 2020 and the amount of sand that fell to the floor was 36 kg per shift. The reason is that the unloading process is still manual by shaking the brake shoe jig for 2 seconds/jig then immediately pouring the brake shoe into the polybox which has holes and does not have a sand container. The use of a sieving machine is expected to reduce lost sand so that productivity can increase. The test parameters are the rotation of the motor which is regulated through an inverter of 5.5 Hz, 6 Hz, and 6.5 Hz for the time of the brake shoe sifting process, as well as the amount of sand scattered and carried by the brake shoe against the cost of purchasing sand. The results showed that productivity increased by 5.56%, the cost down of purchasing sand by up to 75.40%, and environmental cleanliness increased by 92.87%. The increase above based on Pareto analysis is included in the significant category because it meets the 20/80 rule.

Abstract

The study investigates the phenomenon of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) using Large Eddy Simulation (LES) at a Reynolds number of 1000, focusing on transitional flow conditions. LES has proven effective in understanding VIV across Reynolds number regimes, aiding in comprehending flow physics and mechanisms behind VIV. The research aims to contribute data for validating numerical models and informing engineering practices. The study employs the Navier-Stokes equation and the continuity equation to analyze fluid flow, treating it as incompressible due to negligible density changes. The three-dimensional incompressible momentum equation is discretized using the finite volume method within the spatial domain. Resolution of the pressure Poisson equation ensures compliance with free divergence conditions, enhancing computational fluid dynamics simulations' reliability. Validation of the fluid flow solver involves comparing computed drag force coefficients with established benchmarks, showing agreement within small discrepancies. The study delves into vibration behavior induced by cross flow at various reduced velocities (), noting distinct patterns ranging from irregularities at low  to quasi-periodic behavior at higher values. Analysis of maximum cylinder displacement () across different reduced velocities and mass ratios underscores the complex relationship between system parameters and displacement dynamics. A consistent occurrence of y_max at a specific reduced velocity highlights its significance, while varying mass ratios affect displacement patterns, indicating the importance of understanding these dynamics for optimizing fluid-structure interaction systems.

Abstract

Pengeringan merupakan salah satu metode pengawetan yang paling banyak digunakan untuk memperpanjang masa simpan produk pertanian, makanan, dan bahan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun alat pengering skala laboratorium yang inovatif dengan integrasi thermal energy storage (TES) berbasis phase change material (PCM) menggunakan paraffin wax sebagai media penyimpanan energi. Metode yang digunakan meliputi desain alat, perakitan, dan pengujian performa. Paraffin wax dipilih karena sifatnya yang mampu menyimpan dan melepaskan energi panas secara efisien pada rentang suhu pengeringan yang dibutuhkan. Penelitian ini secara khusus mengevaluasi kinerja termal dari alat pengering untuk mendapatkan karakteristik sistem berupa distribusi temperatur di ruang pengering, distribusi temperatur pada media TES, dan distribusi temperatur udara keluar alat pengering melalui cerobong. Hasil investigasi menunjukkan bahwa penambahan TES berbasis PCM paraffin wax mampu menjaga stabilitas temperatur di ruang pengering. Hal ini nantinya akan berdampak positif pada efisisensi sistem secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Instrument equipment is part of the equipment installed on the tool intended to find out and get the desired data from an activity. One of the important instrument equipment in various fields is the measuring instrument. A jaral measuring instrument is basically a tool to find out how much distance or how long the distance is from an object. The need for measuring instruments used and having high accuracy encourages the creation of more measuring instruments. The purpose of this study is the development of a prototype distance measuring instrument based on Arduino uno microcontroller using ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04. This ultrasonic sensor uses the speed of sound to measure the distance with a magnitude of 340 m/s, thus knowing the time between sending the signal and receiving the signal so that the distance between the transmitter and the receiving object can be calculated. The distance measurement data will then be displayed on a 16 x 2 liquid crystal display for easy reading. This design is controlled through the Arduino Uno R3 kit based on ATMEGA 328 P which is implemented in an acrylic plastic plate as a place for the circuit. The test results from the distance measurement instrument research have a measurement error value range of 0% - 0.067%, so it can be said that the distance measuring instrument from this study has a high accuracy value.

Abstract

Proses pemotongan rumput di Bandar Udara ABC adalah bagian penting dalam pengelolaan landscape. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas mesin yang digunakan untuk pemotongan rumput. Hasil analisis ini dapat menjadi tolak ukur bagi perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kinerja mesin yang ada, menambah mesin, atau mengganti mesin sebagai upaya memaksimalkan produktivitas pengelolaan landscape di Bandar Udara ABC. Dalam studi kasus ini, mesin pemotong rumput yang digunakan terdiri dari 2 Mower Kubota L3800 dan 5 Mesin Brush-cutter Tanaka. Efektivitas mesin diukur dengan menggunakan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Masing-masing nilai OEE untuk Mower 1 dan 2 adalah 47.05% dan 42.08%. Sedangkan untuk mesin Brush-cutter 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5 adalah 43.46%, 43.49%, 46.75%, 48.41%, dan 44.72%. Nilai OEE mesin pemotong rumput ini masih belum memenuhi standar kriteria yang ditetapkan JIPM yaitu 85% untuk efektivitas sangat baik dan 60% untuk batas wajar efektivitas mesin. Sehingga hasil dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pertimbangan bagi pengelola bandara dalam melakukan perbaikan maupun perawatan untuk menghindari turunnya produktivitas.
