Abstract

The lack of literacy gives birth to apathetic students in looking at a problem. The objectives of this study are: 1) the role of teachers in cultivating science literacy of grade IV students, 2) factors that become obstacles in implementing science literacy culture in elementary schools, and 3) how teachers solve obstacles to cultivating science literacy of grade IV students. This study uses qualitative methodology and combines literature studies with field research techniques. The literature study is to collect data through primary and secondary data sources. Data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation of grade IV students who are the focus of research. Interviews, observations, and documentation were used as data collection strategies. Data reduction, data presentation, and making conclusions are the three stages of data analysis used in this study. The validity of the data in this study used a triangulation approach. The results showed that: 1) The role of teachers in cultivating science literacy of grade IV students is one of learning using direct practice; 2) One of the inhibiting factors in applying science literacy culture is only focused on memorizing material without understanding in detail the science; 3) The solution is to create study groups to complement each other's shortcomings. It can be concluded that the role of teachers is important in cultivating science literacy for grade IV students.

Abstract

The problem teachers face in MI in scientific writing is the need for more understanding of writing correct articles. The introductory text in journals often includes a theoretical foundation, so many articles are rejected. In addition, the need for more understanding of OJS makes teachers often submit manuscripts with the help of others. The purpose of this article is to present the research results conducted by researchers with respondents of teachers and madrasah heads from all madrasahs in Bogor, West Java. This research belongs to the descriptive qualitative type using a direct action research approach. The data source comes from madrasah teachers, and research data comes from the results of evaluations conducted by researchers. From the research conducted, it is concluded that teachers have sufficient competence in understanding scientific writing, with an average of 79.5. The Ministry of Religious Affairs can optimize teachers' writing skills by conducting FGDs and collaborating across madrasahs with journal managers. Thus teachers can produce output in scientific papers to improve their career path.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that must exist at every level of education to support everyday life. Especially in the lower grades or in elementary school. In low grades, it is necessary to have a strong conceptual understanding so that misconceptions do not occur in subsequent learning, especially in learning place value. This article discusses the understanding of the concept of place value in elementary schools which needs to be considered in learning and discusses the media to support students in learning the concept of place value. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach, using the literature review method. The data sources in this study are documents in the form of books, journals, scientific papers, and other documents that are relevant to the implementation of school culture in education. the character of courtesy and discipline of students in elementary schools. The results of the study show that there are many media that teachers can use to support learning. There are 7 learning media that can support learning to understand the concept of place value, namely number bag media, colored glass media, spedomatic media, learning trajectory, dienes blocks, number seed bag media, and number board media.

Abstract

Reading is an attempt to get information from the content of the reading read, by reading a person will get the meaning he is looking for. The low level of reading comprehension of students is a measure of student success in getting a content or information from the Reading, plus in math story problems, of course there are things that students need to understand in order to understand the reading of the math story problem. The purpose of this study is to determine how far the students understand the reading of the text and its relationship with the problem of mathematical stories. The research method used by using literature literature review as many as 30 articles with the latest issue and indexed, adapaun the article to find out and associate concepts and theories on this subject accompanied by the collection of initial data. The results of the study are various speculations emerged from the results of the initial data tests that have been done by the author, such as students do not rewrite the content of the story, students do not answer questions, and student answers are wrong and it turns out there is a link between reading comprehension with understanding math story problems. So this article discusses the ability of students to be able to understand the reading of math story problems, in order to know the problems that exist in the problem.

Abstract

After the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak had an effect on the world of education, the forced learning system became an online or online study policy at home. This makes students required to be able to master online learning in order to follow social distancing rules imposed by the government to reduce the spread of Covid-19. This research is classified into the type of correlation research using a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Kassi Public Elementary School, Makassar City. The sample in this study were all class IVA students at SD Negeri Kassi, Makassar City, which consisted of 27 students, using a simple random sampling technique. The test results at SD Negeri Kassi Makassar City used descriptive statistical analysis, with an average score of 78.70 in the good category, and an average score of 79.52 in the good category. Inferential statistical analysis, online learning normality test results 0.127>0.05 normally distributed, online learning homogeneity test results and learning outcomes 0.923>0.05 (homogeneous), linearity test results are 0.850>0.05 (linear) based on the results of the data then there is a linear influence of online learning and learning outcomes. The results of the hypothesis test showed a sig value of 0.005, with the criteria of sig 0.005 <a 0.05. The conclusion in the results of this study is that there is an effect of online learning on student learning outcomes during the pandemic at Kassi Public Elementary School, Makassar City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the online learning of Islamic character informing religious character and honesty in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Primary data was obtained through interviews with grade 4 and 5 teachers. Secondary data was obtained from books and journals related to the research theme as well as interviews with school principals. Data analysis was carried out through three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and then drawing conclusions. Data triangulation was carried out through interviews with principals, and students to maintain validity.The research results obtained include: 1) The implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning during online learning at SD Negeri 2 Tigajuru runs using WA group as the main media, while implementation outside Islamic Education learning occasionally uses Google Classroom or Zoom Meeting. 2) The strategy of cultivating religious character towards students of SD Negeri 2 Tigajuru specifically in the upper grades is emphasized through habituation and exemplary methods from teachers. These habits are: Starting learning activities with prayer, reading and memorizing juz amma, reading short letters of Al-Quran juz 30. The cultivation of religious character values in Islamic Religious Education learning when learning online is carried out by providing material about: Akidah; Exemplifying the attitude of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH; performing mandatory prayers and purification; About morals. 3) The obstacles faced by online learning such as the lack of teacher control as a patron in providing concrete examples of praiseworthy behavior other than limited to honesty and worship directly to students. Many upper grade students from grades 4 to 5 still cannot recite the Koran and do not even know the prayer recitation, the PAI teacher's capability in learning is limited to assignments without improving learning methods and strategies when online. 4) Character cultivation patterns at SD Negeri 2 Tigajuru teachers still apply a variety of strategies in conventional, lecture-based learning, Suggestions that can be conveyed to teachers related to their role as educators not only provide knowledge. But, also pay attention to the provision of character cultivation through character education, especially in the cultivation of religious character during online learning

Abstract

State defense is a concept contained in a country's laws and regulations regarding the patriotism of a person or group of people in a country. This study aims to determine the application of state defense in the era of advanced technology in learning civics education in elementary school students. Research methods that. used. This research is a qualitative research method, using, the questionnaire method. The location in this study is located in Denpasar, Bali. Research informants used purposive sampling by selecting informants, namely students from an elementary school in Denpasar. Research data was collected using a questionnaire filled in by respondents through the media and data collection techniques. In a country every citizen is obliged to defend the country, where defending the country is a form of citizen's love for their homeland for their country, especially instilling an attitude of defending the country among the younger generation who have been battered by technological advances.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the role of character education in student learning activities at SDN Leuwinanggung for third grade students and knowing the process of implementing the habituation activity program in the formation of religious, honest, disciplined and responsible character for students. This research is a qualitative research, the data analysis in this research is descriptive analysis technique. The research subjects were the Principal, Deputy Principal for Curriculum, Class III Guardian Teachers, Class III Students. Data collection techniques used in this research are Observation, Interview, Documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction steps, data display and conclusion drawing. The results in this study based on the results of data collection indicate that the role of character education in student learning activities at SDN Leuwinanggung has a very good role in student learning activities in the classroom so that students can carry out the learning process actively, effectively, conducive and purposefully. learning can be achieved. The implementation of character education at SDN Leuwinanggung is carried out through habituation activities such as routine, spontaneous, programmed, exemplary activities.

Abstract

Student involvement and participation in the learning process has not shown student activity. Students tend to be less enthusiastic and proactive in participating in learning. This study aims to determine the effect of animated videos on increasing interest in learning and student perceptions. This type of research is experimental research with a research design using a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this study were fifth grade elementary school students as the population and sample. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research instrument used test and lift. The data analysis used was hypothesis testing on students' interests and perceptions. The results showed that there was no difference between the students' initial abilities before the application of animated video media between the experimental and control classes. Meanwhile, the final ability and interest in student learning after the application of animated video media experienced a significant difference. Perceptions of experimental class students towards animated video media showed a very good attitude. It can be concluded that animated videos are proven to have a significant influence on students' interests and perceptions

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability to read early, the inhibiting and supporting factors of students in early reading, and to find out the concepts applied by the school in teaching early reading, grade 1 students at SDN Gunungsari. The reason for doing this research is by the author's desire to determine the ability to read beginning in grade 1 SDN Gunungsari. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, documentation and tests. The validity of the data using triangulation. The results showed that 1) The students' reading ability was still stated to be lacking because of the total 60 students there were still 50% whose reading abilities were less or not yet fluent in initial reading. 2) the factor of the low reading ability of the first graders of SDN Gunungsari due to lack of attention and guidance from parents, so that the students' lack of interest in learning 3) the concept applied by the first grade teacher of SDN Gunungsari is only the teacher provides guidance every day by providing one word reading with how to separate as syllables.
