Abstract

Vehicles with low speed will produce more exhaust emissions, especially CO gas. Exposure to air with CO gas can cause poisoning of the central nervous system and heart. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of motorized vehicles with levels of carbon monoxide (CO) in the air on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan and Jalan Lubuk Begalung, Padang City in 2022. The type of research used was analytical observational using a correlation test with a cross sectional design with a sample of 5 samples. Times per day at the same time. The results showed that Carbon Monoxide levels were positively correlated to the increase in the number of motorized vehicles with a value of r = 0.9. The number of motorized vehicles on Lubuk Begalung street is lower, humidity and wind speed are lower, the temperature is higher, while the number of motor vehicles on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan is higher, humidity and wind speed are higher and temperature are low. Carbon Monoxide levels on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan were higher at 3.242 ug/Nm3 and on Lubuk Begalung street at 2.572 ug/Nm3. For this reason, it is necessary to improve the quality of public transportation power by checking and repairing public transportation and reducing the use of privite vehicles and making green efforts on roads that can absorb pollutants to reduce the impact of motor vehicle exhaust emissions.

Abstract

Dug wells are the main source of clean water supplies for people living in rural and urban areas of Indonesia. The clean water used by the people of the Panjang Kapuh Desert generally comes from dug wells and drilled wells. In Village Gurun Panjang Kapuh, there are many dug wells that do not meet the construction requirements of dug wells, so they can pose a risk to clean water consumed by the community. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the risk of pollution and coliform content of dug well water in the Village Gurun Panjang Kapuh, Koto XI Tarusan District, Pesisir Selatan Regency in 2022. This research is descriptive with a population of all houses that have clean water facilities dug wells as many as 730 dug wells. Data obtained from the results of the sanitary inspection of dug wells using the sanitation inspection form, in 85 dug wells 7 samples of dug well water were taken for water biology examination (Coliform) in the laboratory. Generally, there is a high risk of contamination of dug wells (69.4%). The total biological content (Coliform) of dug well water from 7 samples, 6 of which did not meet the requirements. It is recommended to the public to make or repair the well construction so that it has a good construction to prevent contamination of dug wells. Health workers should provide counseling and supervise dug well sanitation inspections and periodically check the biological quality of dug well water.

Abstract

Open Defecation Free (ODF) is an activity directed at changing the behavior of Open defecationtoward latrines. Based on the data obtained, there are 10 villages with a total of 457 households that have not been verified as open defecation free. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to open defecation behavior in the Siulak Gedang Health Center Work Area, Kerinci Regency in 2022. This research was a quantitative study with the approach cross sectional conducted in two villages in the Siulak Gedang Health Center Work Area. . The population in this study were all households in the village with high open defecation status, namely Siulak Gedang Village and Pelak Naneh Village as many as 515 families, with a sample of 100 families. Data was collected through interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis with univariate and bivariate with statistical chi-square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p = 0.003), attitude (p = 0.000), socioeconomic (p = 0.002), and latrine ownership (p = 0.000) with open defecation behavior. There was no relationship between the support of health workers (p=1) with open defecation behavior. To reduce the number of open defecation (OD), it is hoped that the community always participates in implementing clean and healthy living behaviors, especially in the ownership and use of healthy family latrines.

Abstract

Scavengers have the potential to be exposed to gases from the waste decomposition process at the final disposal area due to the activities of scavengers in the final disposal environment. Exposure to these gases can cause health problems for scavengers, one of which is due to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas. The purpose of the study was to determine the exposure of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas to scavengers at the Air Dingin final disposal area of Padang in 2022. The research method used Environmental Health Risk Analysis. The results of the three points measured were above the odor level limit value (0.02 ppm or 0.0278 mg/m3). The average realtime intake value is 1.55 x 10-3 mg/kg/day and the lifetime intake is 3.11 x 10-3 mg/kg/day. Realtime and lifetime RQ values, obtained RQ>1. This means that exposure to Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) is not safe for scavengers. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out risk control efforts. For scavengers to use PPE, especially masks, and increase body resistance. For the Department of Environment of Padang, recommended to be able to monitor air quality related to polluting gases in the air around the final disposal area on a regular basis.

Abstract

Behavior (Knowledge, attitude, and action) in spraying pesticides affects the occurrence of poisoning symptoms in farmers spraying pesticides at PT. Anam Koto Pasaman Barat 2022, because pesticide spraying was found with a leaky tank, pesticide spraying farmers did not wear complete PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), male spray farmers smoked immediately with unclean hands, spraying also took place during the hot sun around 12.30 - 13.30. This study aims to determine the relationship between behavior and symptoms of pesticide poisoning in spraying farmers at PT. Anam Koto Pasaman Barat in 2022.This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach conducted at PT. Anam Koto Pasaman Barat 2022 on 17–29 January 2022. The population in this study were pesticide spraying farmers at PT. Anam Koto Pasaman Barat as many as 83 people, with a sample of 45 people. Data was collected through interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate using Chi-Square statistical test. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p = 0,045), action (p = 0,004), behavior (p = 0,014) and there was no relationship between attitudes (p = 0,199) with symptoms of pesticide poisoning. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between behavior and symptoms of poisoning in pesticide spraying farmers at PT. Anam Koto Pasaman Barat 2022.To reduce the symptoms of poisoning in farmers spraying pesticides. Pesticide sprayers should turn bad actions into correct actions in handling pesticides and the need for cooperation between the agriculture office and the health office in monitoring and assisting the use of pesticides by farmers.

Abstract

The existence of human activities around the watershed can cause polluted water, one of the pollutant substances is heavy metals. The purpose of this study was to measure the concentration and analyze the risk of exposure to metals contained in river water. This research was conducted in the Cilamaya River, West Java Province. Sampling was carried out 3 times in March, June and October 2021 at 4 different sampling points. The data used is secondary data from the Department of Environment and Forestry of West Java Province and then calculated and analyzed using the equation formula. The results of this study indicate that the risk of Cr heavy metal contamination at points 1-4 is 0.010958904. Meanwhile, the risk of Cu heavy metal contamination at point 1-4 is 0.0109589. Then the risk value for both Cu and Cr metals is ≤ 1, which means that the Cilamaya watershed is not at risk.
