Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan keterampilan komunikasi oral siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan tipe Reciprocal Teaching (RT) dalam pembelajaran Biologi siswakelas XI MIPA di SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam quasi experiment dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only group design dengan menggunakan kelompok eksperimen 1 dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan kelompok eksperimen 2 dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe RT. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelompok eksperimen 1 dan kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelompok eksperimen 2. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan dokumen sekolah. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t-independen, perhitungan menggunakan bantuan SPSS 25 dengan taraf signifikansi 5% (α = 0,05). Hasil uji t-independen menunjukkan nilai sig. 0,011 < 0,005, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan keterampilan komunikasi oral siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan tipe Reciprocal Teaching (RT) dalam pembelajaran Biologi siswa kelas XI MIPA di SMA Negeri 2 Karanganyar. Nilai rata-rata keterampilan komunikasi oral siswa pada kelompok eksperimen 1 dengan penerapan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok eksperimen 2 dengan penerapan model kooperatif tipe RT, yaitu 64,98 (kategori tinggi) > 59,13 (kategori sedang).

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This research has purpose to analyze the scientific attitude of students in basic bology I. This research is a descriptive research. The subject of research is student of science education STKIP Modern Ngawi first semester in the academic year 2018/2019. Attitude was measure used a questionnaire of scientific attitudes..The percentages of students curiosity attitude  78,84%  with good criteria, responsibility accurary was 71,15%  with good criteria,  conscientious atitude was 71,63% with good criteria, honesty attitude was 72,11% with good criteria, teamwork was 81,72% with good criteria, and ctitical attitude was 69,22% with ctireria enough. Overall, the percentage of the students scintific attitude was good criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk: 1) Mengembangkan media pembelajaran laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada sistem ekskresi, dan 2) Mengetahui kelayakan pengembangan laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) mengacu model 4D (Four-D Model) yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan. Desain penelitian dimodifikasi menjadi 3 langkah yaitu (3-D) yang terdiri atas tahap Define (Pendefinisian), Design (Perancangan), dan Develop (Pengembangan). Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMA swasta di Surakarta. Teknik pengambilan subjek penelitian menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA X Surakarta tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu subjek uji coba terbatas dan subjek uji coba lapangan. Subjek uji coba terbatas diambil dari kelas XI MIPA 2 dan XI MIPA 3 dengan jumlah 4 siswa setiap kelas. Subjek uji coba lapangan diambil dari kelas XI MIPA 1 dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 27 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dibagi menjadi dua tahapan yaitu tahap define dengan teknik pengumpulan menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan angket siswa, dan tahap develop dengan teknik pengumpulan menggunakan angket. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi berisi simulasi praktikum virtual untuk mempermudah pemahaman siswa terkait materi ekskresi yang bersifat abstrak dan disajikan sesuai sintaks discovery learning agar siswa lebih aktif melakukan penemuan konsep secara mandiri; 2) Media laboratorium virtual berbasis discovery learning pada materi sistem ekskresi layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan penilaian validator, praktisi dan siswa dengan tingkat validitas yang sangat valid.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student activity and learning outcomes by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in the XI grade of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Veterans 1 Sukoharjo in the 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of 3 cycles, each cycle including planning, implementing, observing, reflecting. Data collection techniques using 1) observations, 2) assessment tests, 3) student observation sheets and 4) documentation. The results showed that the learning activities of cycle I were 21%, cycle II 60%, and cycle III 86%. Learning outcomes show that the first cycle was 47% (11 students), second cycle was 65% (15 students), and third cycle was 83% (19 students). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the PBL model can increase learning activities and biology learning outcomes in class XI students of Veterans 1 Sukoharjo.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the validity and practicality of science learning modules based on the constructivism approach to the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to sustain life in valid and practical class V elementary school students. This type of research is Research and Development. The science learning module based on the constructivism approach was developed using 3-D models. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. Data collection is done by validation and testing of modules developed. The module design that was designed was validated by two expert lecturers and then tested in class V of SD Negeri 07 Lubuk Jantan to find out the practicality and validity of the modules developed. The results of the study found that the science learning module based on the constructivism approach on the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to sustain life for students in grade V elementary school is in the category of very valid with an average validity of 3.65. The modules that have been developed are categorized as very practical by educators with an average percentage of practicality of 91%, also categorized as very practical according to students with an average percentage of practicality of 91%. This shows that the science learning module is based on a constructivism approach to the material adaptation of plants to certain environments to maintain the life produced is very valid and very practical so that it can be used in learning in class V SD.

Abstract

21st century competency consists of communication, creativity, collaborative, and critical thinking skills (4Cs). This study aims to determine the profile of 21st century skills (4Cs) in prospective biology teachers. The research method used was survey research. Data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The stratified random sampling technique was used in sampling with the number of respondents 120 students of the biology education year 2018/2019. The results of the study show that the 21st century competence of prospective biology teachers is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Abstrak. Argumentasi merupakan tujuan utama dari pendidikan sains karena dapat melibatkan siswa dalam praktik sains yang kompleks di mana siswa menggagas dan menjustifikasi klaim pengetahuan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan kemampuan argumentasi siswa kelas XI setelah penerapan teknik bertanya guru dan argumentative assessment. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus dengan teknik teknik bertanya guru dan argumentative assessment. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas XI MIPA berjumlah 36 siswa yang dipilih berdasarkan metode purposive sampling. Siswa dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, Low achievement dan High achievement berdasarkan hasil belajar tengah semester. Data yang dianalisis adalah pertanyaan yang disampaikan guru kepada siswa, respon siswa terhadap pertanyaan guru dan hasil jawaban siswa terhadap argumentative assessment yang diberikan guru. Analisis data menggunakan rubrik penilaian level argumentasi yang dikembangkan oleh Osborne, Erduran, & Simon dan modifikasi peneliti dengan skoring level argumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perubahan dan peningkatan kemampuan argumentasi siswa setalah diterapkan teknik bertanya guru dan argumentative assessment. Perubahan yang ditunjukkan adalah siswa mampu mengemukakan evidence dan reasoning. Siswa yang termasuk dalam Low achievement dan High achievement mengalami perubahan dalam berargumentasi.

Abstract

This research is quasi experimental research. The research design used posttest only group design. General population is all science students of class X SMA. The research sample are the students of X-MIPA SMA as the first experiment group (the applied of Guided Discovery Learning model) that contains 30 students and X MIPA 2 as the second experiment group (The applied of Jigsaw Cooperative fused by experiment) that contains 30 students. The sampling method that used was the cluster sampling. The collecting data method used essay test for measuring student’s science process skill, observation list for evaluate syntax model activity, and school documents. Validity test that used was coefficient formula Product moment by Karl Pearson and reliability test that used was Alfa Cronbach formula. Prerequisite test analysis consisted of normality test and homogeneity test. Normality was analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogeneity was analyzed by Levene’e test. The result was showed that all groups were in normal distribution and homogeneous data. The analysis data used t test with significance level 0,05. Hypothesis test by using t test showed that signification value was 0,000 < 0,05 so H0 is rejected, it means that there is a significant difference of Science Process Skills ability between the first experiment class and the second experiment class. The post test average score of the first experiment is 57,17 and the second experiment is 68,8. Based on that result, it is concluded that Jigsaw Cooperative Model fused by experiment give more significant influence toward student’s science process skill compared to Guide Discovery Learning Model.

Abstract

Practicum is one of the learning methods that cannot be separated from Biology learning. Practicum becomes a vehicle for training and developing science process skills and scientific attitudes of students. Practicum can run well if it is carried out in accordance with the standards of practicum implementation. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Biology practicum in Polanharjo Klaten 1 High School covering laboratory quality, management, and the implementation of 2017/2018 Biology semester practicum. This research is a descriptive research. The parameters studied included the quality of the laboratory, management of the lab, and the implementation of the Biology lab. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, documentation, and interviews. The results showed that: (1) the quality of the Biology laboratory was in the good category with a percentage of 66.5%; (2) Biology practicum management is included in the good category with a percentage of 63.75%; and (3) Biology practicum is included in the excellent category with a percentage of 95.23%.

Abstract

This research aimed to enhance quantity and quality of student’s questions in biology at grade X MIPA 1 of  SMAN 7 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015 through the implementation of project based learning. This research was a Classroom Action Research which consisting of  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Subject of the research was grade X MIPA 1 of  SMAN 7 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015, consisting of 28 students. Data were collected through observation, interview, and video  recording, then its collected based on revised Bloom’s Taxonomy.  Data were analyzed describe qualitatively. Data  were  validated  using triangulation methods. Research procedure using spiral model.The result of the research showed that quantity and quality of student’s questions enhance from Preaction, Cycle I, and Cycle II. Quantity of student’s questions enhance from 24 to 180 questions. Quality of students’ questions enhanced from the factual, conceptual, and procedural dimension  at  the  C1, C2, and  C3  become the factual, conceptual, procedural and metacognition dimension at the  C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6. Based on the data analysis result, it can be concluded that the implementation of project based learning is able to enhance quantity and quality of student’s questions in biology at grade X MIPA 1 of SMAN 7 Surakarta academic year 2014/2015.
