Abstract

The objectives of research are: (1) to find out whether or not there is a significant effect of physical work environment on the morale of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012, (2) to find out whether or not there is a significant effect of organizational culture on the morale of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012, and (3) to find out whether or not there is a significant effect of physical work environtment and organizational culture n the morale of KJKS kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012.This research employed a quantitative research approach with a descriptive method. The population of research was the employees of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar in 2012. The sampling technique used was  saturated sampling technique, the one with all members of population used s the sample so that the number of samples was 42. The technique of collecting data used was questionnaire supported by documentation method. The data analysis use in this research was a multiple linear regression analysis technique. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) there was a significant relationship of physical of work environment to the morale of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012. It could be seen from the values of rstatistic > rtable­ or 0.450 > 0.304 at significance level of 5%. (2) There was a significant relationship of organizational culture tio the morale of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012. It could be seen from the values of rstatistic > rtable­ or 0.458 > 0.304 at significance level of 5%. (3) There is a significant relationship of physical work environment and organizational culture to the morale of KJKS Kospin Syariah Karanganyar employees in 2012 . It could be seen from the values of Fstatistic > Ftable­ or 11.165 > 3.238 at significance level of 5%. With the result of multiple linear equation of ? = 7.779 + 0.526X1 + 0.315X2. The physical work environment variable give relative contribution of 48.93% and effective contribution of 17.82%.Organizational culture variable give relative contribution of 51.07 and effective contribution of 18.59%. Keywords: physical work environment, organizational culture, and morale.

Abstract

Abstract : The objective of this research is to investigate whether or not there is an effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency and their occupational stress on their performance in the year of 2012. The samples of this research consisted of 42 employees, and were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data were then analyzed by using the  multilinear regression analysis technique.The results of this research are as follows: (1) there is a significant positive effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency on their performance in the year of 2012; (2) there is a significant negative effect of the occupational stress of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency on their performance in the year of 2012; (3) there is a simultaneous significant positive effect of the organizational commitment of the employees of the Office of Transportation Communication and Informatics Service of Karanganyar Regency and their occupational stress on their performance in the year of 2012.Keyword: organizational commitment, occupational stress, performance

Abstract

ABSRACTThe objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) how Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city plays his leadership role in growing the discipline behavior of its employees; (2) what constraints are encountered by Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city in internalizing the discipline of its employees; and (3) what solutions are taken by Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office to deal with the prevailing constraints to the materialization of the discipline behavior of its employees. This research used the qualitative embedded single case study method.The results of the research are as follows: 1) Chief of Jebres Sub-district Office, Surakarta city plays his leadership role through the discipline behavior internalizations such as: (a) giving exemplification through discipline attitude; (b) giving motivation to the employees; (c) attempting to fulfill their needs and prosperity; and (d) implementing the discipline upholding consistently. 2) The constraints occurring in nurturing the discipline of the employees of Jebres Sub-district Office are as follows: (a) internal constraints: some employees bear the characters and personalities which are apathetic to advices, and some are lack of responsibilities in executing their duties and work and (b) external constraints: the external constraints occurring in internalizing the discipline of the employees of Jebres Sub-district Office are mainly related to the work environment. 3) The prevailing constraints occurring in internalizing the discipline of the employees are as follows: (a) upholding the prevailing laws and regulations and nurturing the employees; and (b) maintaining the communication and good relations among the employees.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to know the implementation of office supplies management of PMI Kota Surakarta, the problems, and the solutions to overcome that problems. Used a qualitative approach, the result of research showed that PMI Kota Surakarta implemented the functions of office supplies management to managed their supplies. But, in the practice, got problems with limited human resources and too many functions of warehouse and office management. The efforts to overcome those problems included : empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students and Household employees, coping with over functions by asking for help from other staff and by holding training concerning the instrument use and maintenance, coping with the narrow warehouse and its location in the same room with the office by utilizing the existing vertical room, coping with supply release that was not consistent with the predetermined method by guiding activity accurately and rechecking immediately the stock recording and supply, coping with Staff of Logistic and Inventory division who did not have time to rearrange the warehouse after supply releasing by empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students, coping with virus problem delayed data finding and making report by calling the officers to scan the virus, and coping with roof damage by temporarily solution by putting a rainwater container.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is, 1) to determine the use of facebook as a medium supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology on program Sociology Anthropology of Education Program in 2012, 2) To know the benefits of facebook as a medium supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology Education Program Sociology Anthropology in 2012, 3) To determine the barriers and the efforts to handle the media supporting distance learning course on Introduction to Anthropology on program Sociology Anthropology Educational Studies academic year 2012.This study used a qualitative approach and study research. The data source is the informant, place and events, archives, respondents, and document analysis. The sampling technique used was snowball sampling. Method of collecting the data is interviews and documentation analysis. The validity of data using triangulation data (source), while the analysis of the data using interactive analysis.Based on the analysis it can be concluded: (1) Implementation of the Learning Activities by Leveraging Social Media Facebook as a Learning Support. Facebook is not only used as a medium of support but also be used in full for one semester, as a lecturer abroad. Facebook is used as a medium for distance learning because almost all students use facebook. Facebook is used for communication between faculty and students and among students to discuss courses, announcing assignments and exams so that all members can see all the information on group. 2) Excellence in Learning by Using Facebook as a Media Support Distance Learning: a) Increasing levels of interaction between students with learning educators, b) Enables the interaction of learning from anywhere and at any time, c) Reaching learners in coverage, d) Increasing activity in the learning activities. 3) Obstacles in Learning Using Facebook as a Media Support Distance Learning: a) The difference in speed access and delays with predetermined targets, b) error application, c) Lack of character, d) inadequate facilitiesTo cope with such the. From the above it can be an obstacle in efforts to minimize these barriers is to: a) The material should be concise and clear, and not too much, b) provide respite deadlines and provide confirmation.Keywords: media, facebook, college

Abstract

 The weakness of leaders in Small and Medium Business (UKM) in Indonesia dealing with market oriented are the low motivation of entrepreneurs, the low of leader commitment to apply market orientedmethod in his organization, and lack of training for themselves (Suliyanto, 2011). This research aimed to develop the culture of market oriented throughout the learning of organization that be done by examining the effect of customers and competitorsoriented to the learning of organization.  Respondents of this research are 300 owners or managers of UKM in the Greater of Surakarta. The technique of sampling in this research is purposive sample who has two criteria; an Indonesian and at least has two employees. The technique of analysis was done by Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result of this research shows antecedent variable; entrepreneurs? orientation, under-pressured of managers, training programs, and reward system has effect to customer orientation in Small and Medium Business (UKM).  Key words: customers oriented, competitors oriented, learning organizations

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency; (2) the factors influencing the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency; and (3) the efforts taken to improve the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency.This research used a single embedded case study with the qualitative method. The sources of the research were informants, locations, documents or archives. The samples of the research were taken by using the purposive sampling technique and the snowball sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation and were then validated by using the data source and data gathering method triangulations. They were analyzed by using the interactive technique of analysis.The results of the research show that the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office in extending services to the community in Karanganyar regency has not been optimal for the community feels less satisfied with the services in terms of the timeliness and comfort of services. Such a performance is due to the limited number of its employees and their low ability in the computerization system. The factors affecting the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency include (1) work motivation of the employees, (2) ability of the employees, and (3) facility and infrastructure. The efforts taken so as to improve the performance of the Population and Civil Registry Office at Karanganyar regency are, among others, highly motivating and encouraging the employees to perform better through punishment and reward system. The employees shall be given training on computerization system. The facility and infrastructure shall be added in terms of quantity and completeness. Keywords: Performance and services to community.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are, (1) To determine the internal and external factors which influence students learning difficulty in computer skills and management information courses at the tenth (X) grade students of administrative offices class, SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta in the 2011/2012 school period (2) To determine the most dominant factors both internal and external which influence students learning difficulty in computer skills and management information courses at the tenth (X) grade students of administrative offices class, SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta in the 2011/2012 school period (3) To know the efforts used in  overcoming the students learning difficulty and progressive actions in order to make the courses run effectively.The result of this research are (1) Internal factors that affect students' learning difficulty can be seen from the physiological and psychological factors. Physiological factors that student health is not always healthy and the disabled body minus the eye disorder, whereas psychological factors, namely the level of student intelligence, talents, interests, motivation, mental health, and particular types of learning.  Furthermore, external factors that affect students' learning difficulty can be seen from the factor of family, school, mass media and social environment.  Family factor are parental controls for children's learning is low, the atmosphere tends to crowded houses, and family economic situation is lacking. Factors that school facilities provided by the school especially the computers were damaged, and the time that school discipline is still low.  Factor of social media and the intensity of students' access to the mass media too often and less supportive social environment. (2) Internal factors are the most dominant in influencing students' learning difficulties is the talent where supported the student's skills. The most dominant external factors influencing student learning difficulties is the mass media, when the student's learning time is use for enjoying media. (3) The work done to overcome the learning difficulties of students and the progressive step to streamline the learning includes the pre, process, and post. Preparation of the pre-form of learning in which teachers prepare the syllabus and Learning Implementation Plan. Stage of the process in the form of providing guidance that does not cause confusion of students, encouraging students to participate actively in the class, motivating students, and focus on the learning process. Stage in the form of a post is make a remedial for students who got difficulties in the learning process. Key words: internal factor, external factor, learning disabilities

Abstract

The aims of the study were to find: (1) if there was significant effect of internship practical work toward the soft skills mastery of the eleventh grade students of the Office and Administration Department of SMK Islam Al Hikmah Mayong Jepara; (2) if there was significant effect of the students? organizing motivation towards their soft skills mastery; (3) if there was significant effect of both internship practical work and students? organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. This study was a quantitative study applying descriptive method. Its population was the eleventh grade students of the Office and Administration Department of SMK Islam Al Hikmah Mayong Jepara in the year of 2012. Its sample was taken through probability sampling is simple random sampling using lottery. It was 37 students of 58 population. The data were collected by distributing questionnaire and documentation. The data were then analyzed by using the technique of double regression analysis, the linear equation of which was ? = 3,422 + 0,293 + 0,430. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that: (1) there was a positive significant effect of internship practical work toward the soft skills mastery. This was indicated by the value of > or 0,466 > 0,325, in addition by the value of > or 2,886 > 2,042 in the level of significance 5%; (2) there was a positive significant effect of their organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. This could be proved by the value of > or 0,448 > 0,325, in addition by the value of > or 2,727 > 2,042 in the level of significance 5%; and (3) there was a positive significant manner together effect of both the internship practical work and students? organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. It was shown by the value of > or 9,470 > 3,33 in the level of significane 5%. The relative contribution of internship practical work ) toward the soft skills mastery (Y) was 52,4% and the one of the organizing motivation ) toward their soft skills mastery (Y) was 47,6%. The relative contribution of the internship practical work ) toward their? soft skills mastery (Y) was 18,8% and their organizing motivation ) toward their soft skills mastery (Y) was 17 %.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: 1) whether or not there is a significant correlation between the social interaction in peer group and the learning achievement; 2) whether or not there is a significant correlation between the learning motivation and the learning achievement; and 3) whether or not there is a simultaneously significant correlation of the social interaction in peer group and the learning motivation to the learning achievement in Office Equipment Management of the students in Grade XI of the Office Administration Department of State Vocational High School 1 of Surakarta in Academic Year 2012/2013 as many as 76 students. The samples of the research consisted of 45 students or 60% of the total number of students in Grade XI of the school. They were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation and were then analyzed by using the multiple linear regression technique of analysis. The results of the research are as follows: 1) there is a significant correlation between the social interaction in peer group (X1) and the learning achievement; 2) there is a significant correlation between the learning motivation (X2) and the learning achievement; and 3) there is a simultaneously significant correlation of the social interaction in peer group (X1) and the learning motivation (X2) to the learning achievement (Y). The relative contribution of the X1 variable toward the learning achievement (Y) is 21.73%, and that of the variable X2 toward the learning achievement (Y) is 78.27%. The effective contribution of the X1 variable toward the learning achievement (Y) is 16.93%, and that of the X2 variable toward the learning achievement (Y) is 60.97%.
