Abstract

The objectives of the study were: (1) to formulate a multimedia-based integrated learning model of concrete construction and entrepreneurship and, (2) to measure the improvement of the students’ entrepreneurial spiritby implementing this developed integrated learning model in the classroom. This study was classified as a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. A pretest, treatment, andposttest were presented to the experimental and control groups. This study was conducted in 8 meetings at the Stone Installation and Concrete Constructionworkshop, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Data were collected through tests to measure students' competence in entrepreneurship and Concrete Construction. The Concrete Construction skills were measured through product assessment. Testing of the validity and the reliability of the instruments used expert judgment and Cronbach Alpa respectively. Data were analyzed with a statistical t-test, with consideration of (a) the data normality, and (2) the homogeneity for the variance of each data group. This study concluded: (1) the integrated learning model was successfully formulated (2) there were positive and significant differences in the students' entrepreneurial spirit between the students treated with the developed integrated learning model and the students treated with the conventional learning model.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) memperkecil kesenjangan kompetensi lulusan dengan dunia industri pada praktik kerja batu dan beton, (2) meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas pengajaran dalam rangka peningkatan kualitas lulusan. Metode penelitian menggunakan survey dilanjutkan dengan penelitian tindakan kelas. Waktu penelitian selama empat bulan. Tempat penelitian di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan Fakultas Teknik, UNY. Populasi dan sampel diambil satu kelas pembelajaran Praktik Kerja Batu dan Beton. Sedangkan subyek penelitian ditetapkan mahasiswa semester II, tahun ajaran 2008/2009. Rancangan instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebagai berikut: (1) instrumen pengembangan model instruksional PMM, (2) instrumen untuk mengukur dampak instruksional. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa analisis deskriptif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1) Jenis-jenis pekerjaan (perkembangan) di dunia kerja praktik kerja batu dan beton dapat diidentifikasi sebagai berikut: a. Pasangan batu bata persilangan ½ batu ikatan stretcer bond, b. Pasangan tegel porselin dinding dengan semen portlan MU (Mortar Utama), c. Pembuatan asesoris dari gip-sum, d. Praktik wall-paper, e. Praktik plafon gip-sum, f. Pratik Beton Pre-cast, g. Praktik Beton Ready-Mix. (2) Melalui pelaksanaan pembelajaran desain instruksional Project Minerva Model berbasis Contextual Teaching Learning dapat di tingkatkan kompetensi mata kuliah praktik kerja batu dan beton di Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil Perencanaan, Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Dari hasil penilaian semua mahasiswa mendapatkan nilai A. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena praktik pemasangan keraton memang merupakan teknologi tepat guna pemasangan lantai dari keramik komposit, sehingga ketika mahasiswa melaksanakan pratik pemasangan keraton motivasi praktik mereka meningkat.

Abstract

Conventionally, in the learning process teachers usually explain lathe machines using only one unit machine thus the students cannot observe and learn the machine comprehensively. Hence, it is necessary to create learning media based on Augmented Reality technology that can be individually accessed with smartphone devices to facilitate the students in examining the lathe parts in detail with ease. This study discusses the development of Augmented Reality technology based learning media to display parts of the lathe in informative details. This study was categorized as Research and Development. The procedure of the study consisted of several stages including finding potential and problem, literature studies, product development, expert validation, product revisions, product trial, product revision, user response, product revision and final product development. The results showed that the developed learning media was applicable. The percentages of product testing and user response testing were 87.50% and 82% respectively which both were categorized as good.

Abstract

This study aims at improving the students’ problem solving ability of Mathematics through computer-based learning, particularly in the space figures competency at SMK Negeri 1 Ngawen Gunungkidul. This study is categorized as classroom action research. The subjects of the study were the grade XI OC students of SMK Negeri 1 Ngawen Gunung Kidul. The study consisted of repetitious cycles. Every cycle consisted of problem identification, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of the study showed that: (1) the application of computer-based learning could improve the students’ problem solving ability of Mathematics and affected positively on the students’ achievement. The improvement was resulted from the conducive learning atmosphere (2) the students were highly interested in computer-based learning. They were more enthusiastic because they were able to confirm the answers directly; (3) to deal with the texts’ low legibility due to the mismatch between the background and the font size, the narration orally explained by the researcher was employed (4) the application of quizzes could motivate the students. They get involved actively in answering questions. The learning activities were more varied.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: (1) to examine the relevance of the teaching materials applied in the subject of Electrical Machines Theories related to the 2009 curriculum syllabus; (2) to reorganize thematerials delivered to the students based on the time management. The approach utilized in this study was content analysis. In this study, the explicit description of the study process was crucial. To assess the teaching materials that had been arranged and would be rearranged based on the time management the data resulted from documentation, observation, and interviews was required. It was carried out to complete the data for the handbook of Electrical Engineering Theories. The results revealed that the materials in the handbook are mostly relevant to the 2009 curriculum, but the time management needs to be reviewed. Theeliminated materials will be included in independent assignments or other relevant subjects.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine: (1) the influence of principals’ leadership, work motivation, and school culture on the performance of State Vocational High School teachers in Gunungkidul Regency, (2) the influence of principal’s leadership on the teachers’ performance (3) the influence of job motivation on the teachers’ performance, (4) the influence of school culture on the teachers’ performance. The study was a quantitative descriptive study. The population of the study were 753 teachers of State Vocational High School teachers in Gunungkidul regency. The results of the data analysis showed (1) there is positive and very significant influence of the principal’s leadership, work motivation, and school cultures on the teachers’ performance with the percentage of 42,2 % (2) there is positive and very significant influence of the of principal’s leadership on the teacher’s performance with the percentage of 18,22% (3) there is positive and very significant influence of work motivation on the teachers’ performance with the percentage of 13,03% (4) there is positive and very significant influence of school culture on the teachers’ performance with the percentage of 10,94%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to improve the learning quality of Kinematics and Dynamic of  Mechanical System course through a structural worksheet. The improvement in this context referes to students’activities and their learning motivation. This reserach was conducted by using action reserach method on Kinematics and Dynamic of  Mechanical System course in odd semester. The reserach object was the third semester students of Information Technology Department. Data collection techniques were observation, decumentation, and interview. Data analysis technique was using descriptive analysis which was presented in the form of quantitaive.The result of the reserach showed that 1) the implementation of structural worksheet was able to improve the students’learning activities on Kinematics and Dynamic of  Mechanical System course (20%), 2) the implementation of structural worksheet was able to improve the students’learning motivation (40%).Keywords : learning activities, learning achievement and structural worksheet

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan suatu model pembelajaran microteaching yang dapat digunakan untuk mempersiapkan calon guru SMK yang bertaraf internasional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan mengambil tempat di jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FT UNY pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2008/2009. Pengambilan data awal dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pre-test diawal perkuliahan untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan awal Bahasa Inggris terhadap dua kelas peserta perkuliahan pengajaran mikro sebanyak 30 mahasiswa. Terpilih 6 mahasiswa untuk mengikuti perkuliahan Bahasa inggris yang sangat aplikatif berkenaan dengan praktik pengajaran mikro dikelas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus dan terdiri atas tujuh kali tatap muka. Hasil analisis pre-test menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa peserta perkuliahan pengajaran mikro lemah dalam penguasaaan Bahasa Inggris. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pertama, model pengajaran mikro untuk calon guru SMK RSBI terdiri atas program perkuliahan pengajaran mikro dan perkuliahan pendalaman Bahasa Inggris yang menekankan pada percakapan. Kedua, perangkat model pembelajaran mikro dua bahasa setidaknya membutuhkan materi-materi pendalaman Bahasa Inggris, kegiatan praktik pengajaran mikro dua bahasa secara bertahap, peralatan perekam dan instrument penelitian. Ketiga, model pengajaran mikro dua bahasa ini dapat diselenggarakan secara paralel/ bersama-sama dengan perkuliahan mikro regular.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis reseach aims at (1) revealing the influence of integrated and Rolling Work Based Learning (WBL)implementation towards the quality of WBL learning result (2) obtaining the data of the output aspects for thequality of WBL learning results in the vocational education program of Automotive DIII.This research belongs to experimental research in the study program of Automotive DIII. This research wasconducted in trainning centre on several brand owner agent of Automotive area in Jakarta, Karawang, Tangerang,Bekasi. The population of the research was the students of Diploma III of Automotive Engineering Study Programwho were conducted field or industrial practicum. The research sample was two groups of students consisted of 50students for each group who come from 3 state universities and 3 private universities in Yogyakarta and CentralJava. This experimental study was conducted from July till October 2012 with factorial design of 2 x 1. The datacollection techniques were using inventory, observation sheets, and documentation. The analysis of content validitywas conducted by expert judgement. The construct validity was using factor analysis and item realibility with AlphaCronbach and KR-20. Meanwhile, the hypothesis testing was conducted by ANAVA technique and T-Test with theassistance of SPSS 17 program.The results of the research showed that (1) the implementation of Integreted and Rolling WBL (industrial/field practicum) influenced the result of WBL learning result, (2) the output aspects of WBL learning result were theimprovement of automotive mechanical knowladge, professionalism, readiness, and students’ autonomy.Keywords: integrated and Rolling Work Based Learning (WBL), quality of WBL learning result

Abstract

LPTK as the Teacher Education Institution currently experiences increasing challenges in rising more professional candidates and the goverment policy of the teacher recruitment process. The teachers candidates experience limited learning facilities, and it influences their competencies as teachers in Vocational High Schools. The students as the teacher candidates who lack of experiences in industrial environment will have low motivation and passion in the real working world. Therefore, LPTK needs to establish partnerships with schools and industries. Some of the partnerships that are potential to be developed by LPTK includes vocational laboratory simulations, apprenticeships, internships, school-based enterprises, cooperative education, and job shadowing. The hard skills (job skills, teaching skills productive) and the soft skills (attitudes, characters and work climate) are expected to be developed therefore the knowledge and the experiences will be transferred to the students in Vocational High Schools
