Abstract

The seven plagues in Revelation 14-18 which will take place in the future are often presented as a threat to people in this scary world. The book of Revelation in reality is the summary and conclusion of The Story Of Redemption from Genesis up to the Letter of Jude.  All of these “were written to teach and encourage us by giving us hope” (Romans 15:4, Contemporary English Version). Based on this historical fact, the reality of cartoon film of the seven plagues which Apostle John has seen about 2000 years ago should be benefited to us as “a counsel of peace to us from the Lord” (2 Timothy 3:14-17).  The Word of The Lord “should be interpreted by the Lord Himself because He is The Author of The Worrd of Truth” (John 14:26; 16:13; 2 Peter 1:19-21).  The real contemporer meaning of cartoon film of the past in Revelation is the “reality of hell burning heart of sin” during oeu daily life (Hosea 7:6).

Abstract

The question of euthanasia is one of the most difficult moral problems that arise in the context of terminal medical care. It now occurs with greater frequency and is much more difficult to resolve because of advances in the art and science of medicine. Since the problem of euthanasia is still not clear to many church members in Indonesia, so the purpose of this study is to determine whether the Euthanasia is morally justifiable from the Christian perspective. The result of this study comes into conclusion that euthanasia is a kind of human effort to make a “good or painless death.”  There are two kind of Euthanasia:  active and passive. Active Euthanasia is taking human life and passive Euthanasia is simply allowing death to occur in order to avoid suffering. From the point of Christian perspective, active Euthanasia is morally unjustifiable, but passive Euthanasia may be morally justifiable, as long as it is natural and irreversible death. Also, the decision should be taken be consensus of pastor, doctor, lawyer, and family. God should be sought first in prayer and healing. And when the course of death is medically irreversible and no divine inter version is forthcoming, it is morally justified to stop unnatural efforts to prolong the process of dying.

Abstract

The activityto bring the corpse to the church before burial ceremony does not have a theological basis in the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy.  Moreover, they also do not provide provisions relating to it as well as positive or negative impact if the body is brought to the church or not. Therefore, the organization of Seventh-day Adventists Church should give clear guidance to the criteria that needs to be followed by all churches under Seventh-day Adventists organization to occur alignment in addressing this issue.  When it turns out that decision being handed out to each congregation, then, let these three important things need to be considered, namely: (1) the person who died must be a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventists Church.  This is evidenced by a baptist certificate or a statement from the family or Seventh-day Adventists Church that requests, or membership record; (2) the person diesin a reasonble state (not suicide, drug addicts, etc.); (3) the corpse that can be brought to the church is not just limited to the pastor, church elder, church founders, old people, but to the younger age group also should be given the opportunity.

Abstract

Religious pluralism exist because of the many religions and beliefs adopted in this world.  In this case, the Christian Education organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church both in the church and education at schools and universities not only transfer the knowledge of science and technology but also motivate learners to practice it through IMTAK (faith piety), in order to cultivate good deeds which is the core of the doctrine or the teachings of the church itself.  As an example of the ambivalence between the Adventist Church's teachings and practices, is the thinking that only members of the Adventist church alone are savevd when the church has never taught that way.  Here is the role of Christian education, to educate students that everybody can be saved when they have faith in Jesus and His teachings.
