Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan Leseverständnis ’pemahaman membaca’ mahasiswa bahasa Jerman Semester III Tahun Akademik 2017/2018 melalui deiktische Ausdrücke ‘tuturan rujukan’. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode eksperimen yang menguji secara langsung kontribusi metode deiksis guna meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memahami sebuah teks bacaan bahasa Jerman. Leseverständnis ‘membaca pemahaman’ merupakan proses membaca sandi berupa tulisan yang harus diinterpretasikan sehingga apa yang disampaikan penulis  dapat dipahami dan disimpulkan. Namun mahasiswa sering menghadapi kesulitan dalam proses memahami penyandian teks bacaan tersebut, sehingga diperlukan suatu metode, yakni metode deiktische Ausdrücke. Deiktische Ausdrücke adalah sebuah kajian pragmatik yang merupakan salah satu unit linguistik (kata,frasa,kalusa) yang rujukan atau referennya ditentukan oleh penuturnya. Rujukan atau acuan yang terdapat dalam teks bacaan sering dihiraukan mahasiswa sehingga menyebabkan kekeliruan dalam memahami informasi tentang isi teks. Pada metode deiksis, setiap referen atau rujukan dalam teks bacaan yang mengacu pada informasi sebelumnya menjadi pedoman untuk memahami isi teks bacaan. Deiktische Ausdrücke terdiri dari: die Personaldeixsis (deiksis personal) Singen Sie den Anfang eines Geburtstagsliedes, die Ortdeixsis (deiksis tempat atau ruang) Es regnet hier seit 18 Uhr, die Temporaldeixsis (deiksis waktu) Heute fahrendie S-Bahn bis zum Hauptbahnhof, die Diskursdeixsis (deiksis wacana) Was ich sagen will, ist dies/Folgendes:Sie können bei Dr. Steffens jetzteinen Termin bekommen dan die Sozialdeixsis (deiksis sosial) Stellen Sie sich Fragen gegenseitig zum Thema. Pada dasarnya Leseverständnis ‘membaca pemahaman’ bertujuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis teks bacaan bahasa Jerman dalam taraf kesukaran tingkat sederhana (A1) sampai ketingkat kesulitan lebih (B1). Abstract

The aim of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of inquiry method on Students’ writing descriptive text ability at the X grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat in 2012-2013 Academic Year. The research method used is experimental method. The population of this research consists of 4 classes. They are all of the X grade students with 142 students. Two classes, they are X1 and X2 are taken as two groups of sample by cluster sampling. The whole amount samples is 70 students. The data are collected by using 20 items test as an instrument. The writer uses statistic processes in analyzing data. They are descriptive analysis by using the formula of “t-test”.After calculating the data, it is found that theresult of writing  ability on descriptive text taught by using inquiry method is categorized “good”. While the students’ writing ability on descriptive text taught by using conventional method is categorized “enough”. And from the data that has been collected, it is found that the result shows the score of ttest>ttable (3.6 > 2.00). It means that there is a Significant Effect of Inquiry method on Students’ Writing Descriptive Text Ability at the X Grade Students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. It can be concluded the hypothesis in this research is accepted.

Abstract

This article is about the kinds of questions and their role & function. The research design of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data are teachers’ questions which were occurred in the process of teaching and learning. The data was analyzed based on Kenchak & Eggen’s theory. Based on the analysis, it was found that display questions dominated the teachers’ questions and it was followed by referential and yes/no questions. Then, the role & function of teachers’ questions was dominated by diagnostic and it was followed by instructional and motivator questions. It was defined that teachers’ questions were still in the low level, that is the teacher wanted to know whether the students were able to answer the questions or not.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penokohan Byronic Hero, menemukan representasi permasalahan dalam konteks sosial, politik,  dan budaya dalam  Novel Mary Shelley Frankenstein karya Mary Shelley. Serta pengaruh Romansa Gotik terhadap perubahan peradaban manusia berdasarkan teori dan pendekatan Postrukturalisme. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Deskriptif Kualitatif. Data penelitian adalah novel Mary Shelley Frankenstein karya Mary Shelley dan sejumlah buku acuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dikumpulkan dengan teknik baca, simak dan catat. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan metode Analisis Konten menggunakan teori Dekonstruksi Derrida dan Pendekatan Arketaipal dalam tujuan untuk mengungkapkan makna tersembunyi di balik teks. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penokohan Byronic Hero diperoleh hasil bahwa penokokohan Victor Frankenstein, Robert Walton dan Sang Monster dalam novel Mary Shelley Frankenstein karya Mary Shelley menggambarkan penokohan yang banyak terlibat konflik batin dan berjiwa tak stabil, juga ditemukan berbagai representasi permasalahan dalam konteks sosial, politik, budaya yang terjadi dalam kehidupan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa karya sastra Romansa Gotik seperti novel Mary Shelley Frankenstein karya Mary Shelley cenderung mengungkapkan permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan konteks sosial, politik, dan budaya yang terjadi dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat dengan gambaran teror dan horor sebagai diskursusnya.

Abstract

La connaissance sur la syntaxe française tient un rôle très primordial dans l’acquisition ou la maîtrise de langue.  Cette connaissance apporte une certaine difficulté chez les apprenants. Pourtant il est exigent qu’ils puissent s’adapter mieux à cette langue. Cette difficulté se comporte du changement de l’article, de l’accord de l’adjectif et de la conjugaison verbale.A partir de cette situation, l’auteur traitera du genre et du nombre de la syntaxe française (les articles, les noms et les adjectifs).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metafungsi teks multimodal Cio Tao pada masyarakat peranakan Tionghoa di Teluknaga Tangerang. Jenis penelitian yang diterapkan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas 2 bagian, yaitu data primer yang berisikan teks visual berupa gambar atau foto tradisi Cio Tao. Gambar atau foto tersebut merupakan dokumentasi pribadi peneliti, sementara itu data sekunder pada penelitian ini berupa hasil wawancara dari tokoh masyarakat, kedua mempelai dan orang tua dari kedua mempelai. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapatkan melalui deskripsi dan analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa teks multimodal tradisional (Cio Tao) adalah 1) fungsi ideasional meliputi proses, partisipan dan sirkumtan, 2) fungsi interpersonal terdiri atas moda dan residu, 3) fungsi tektual terdiri atas tema dan rema.

Abstract

 Abstract           The aim of the research is to know the effect of using picture series on young learners’ vocabulary mastery at the third grade of MIS Luqman Al Hakim TanjungMorawa2016/2017. The design of this research was experimental method that consists of pre-test (X1), treatment (T) and post-test (X2). Population of this research was the whole third grade students in MIS Luqman Al Hakim TanjungMorawa. The sample of this research was the Class III-Utsman Bin Affan consist 20 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. Pre-test is given to know young learners’ vocabulary mastery before getting treatment by using picture series. Post-test is given to know young learners’ vocabulary mastery after getting treatment by using picture series. The treatment has been given as many three times to the sample. After the data collected, it was analyzed by using t-test. The result showed the value of‘t’ observed = 3.085 and ‘t’ table = 2.024. Therefore, the value of ‘t’ table exceeds ‘t’ observed value. It means that Ho has no influence on young learners’ vocabulary mastery and Ha has influence on young learners’ vocabulary mastery. In other words, the picture series was effective in teaching vocabulary on students of class III-Utsman bin AffanMIS Luqman Al Hakim TanjungMorawa.Keywords:Picture Series, Young Learners, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

For the past few years, undoubtedly due to China’s growing economic status, there has been a significant increase in the number of students learning Chinese. As a third language in university curricula in Malaysia, it also enjoys a popularity never seen previously. From the angle of didactics, therefore, it is indeed of particular importance to carry out a multi-perspective research on motivations of Malaysian learners behind choosing Chinese as a foreign language. Based upon our experience, there is a remarkable gender difference in this field. This study examined these differences in motivation for learning Chinese amongst undergraduate students in Malaysia. A representative sample of 75 participants was selected from elementary level Chinese classes at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. Findings of the investigation, based on a questionnaire, were analyzed by the software ‘IBM SPSS Statistics’. The analysis of the data revealed that female participants look at the practicability of the language when learning Chinese, whereas male participants are motivated primarily by their social responsibility and the learning situation. An overall analysis of the variables showed that male participants received a higher mean value in ‘learning situation’ only, and female participants were rather dominant in respect of ‘individual development’, ‘social responsibility’, ‘task value’, ‘information medium’, ‘self-efficacy’ and ‘intrinsic interest’. Through awareness of these gender-driven differences, both teaching and learning efforts can be optimized in the didactics of Chinese at universities in Malaysia.

Abstract

This research deals with the derivational process of English noun. It is one of the forming word processes. The writer focuses on derivational process of English noun which found in Newsweek’s Articles. The objectives of the study are to find out the derivational process of English noun included in Newsweek’s Articles, to show the derivational process of English noun contained in Newsweek’s Articles and to show the dominant of derivational process of English noun in Newsweek’s Articles. Specifically, this research tries to analyze derivational process of English noun which attach to the word that exist in Newsweek’s Articles. The derivational process of English noun can be attaches to the verb, adjective and noun. From the analysis, it is found that 69 derivational suffixes of English noun, and the dominant derivational process of English noun found in Newsweek’s Articles is suffix –tion with the percentage 17,39 % of all derivational process of English noun which had been found in Newsweek’s Articles. And followed by suffix –er or –or with 14,49 % and suffix –ity with 13,04 %.  This research made based on the library and other sources, as there are many available sources is collected to support this research.
