Abstract

Abstract : Kampung Pelangi Semarang has relatively dense buildings, spontaneously developed and lack of urban service facilities. The design of the area based on the aspects of physical quality, one of which is the visual quality. Visual signs are the main features that are physically visible. The core of this research is to identify the influence between visual quality and sustainability in Kampung Pelangi. The research method is quantitative, weighted using Likert scale and test by using linear regression analysis. Results from simultaneous research indicate that visual quality influences on sustainability in Kampung Pelangi. The magnitude of the influence of visual quality is only 44.7% of the sustainability, the rest of 52.3% is influenced by other factors, while partially regression analysis showed no influence from three variables. It means that there is still lack of diversity, dominance and clarity at the research locus, so it needs to be increased again with values of -3.9%, -2.6% and 5.8% respectively. It should be furtherly improved by adding coloring, marking and map themes, and adding various tourist attractions. For the other three variables, sequence, harmony, and uniqueness have an influence on sustainability in Kampung Pelangi, with the value of 19%, 17,1% and 17%, that the variables already exist in research locus but the value is very low so it must maintained and upgraded with the planning and implementation of proper programs to increase the level of sustainability there.

Abstract

The increasing number of human activities from sub urban areas causes high movements in urban areas. The high rate of human movement drives the need for human circulation pathways and adequate transportation systems. To solve this problem, the Semarang City government has actually built transportation facilities in the form of BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) along with pedestrian ways. However, in reality the pedestrian ways that acts as a link to the door to door service is not well connected so it is less secure and comfortable and unable to accommodate the needs of the urban community. The purpose of this study was to examine the connectivity between pedestrian networks and BRT shelter in Semarang. The method of analysis in this study used GIS applications to evaluate access pedestrian connectivity to BRT shelther in Banyumanik and Pedurungan, Semarang. The results of the study are the connectivity between pedestrian ways and BRT shelter  in Banyumanik is good on the other side the connectivity in Pedurungan is not good and optimally configured

Abstract

Abstract. Concerning to city branding, the role of brand image is very important for visitors to remember the tourism destination. The destination brand image can identify by 5 elements of city image, namely path, edge, node, district, and landmark. Semarang Chinatown is one of the historical tourism sites in Semarang that can represent the Semarang's city branding as a "variety of culture" with various cultures and interactions. The aim of this research is to identify the Semarang's City Branding (variety of culture) through destination brand image that revealed by 5 elements of city image. Research methods are carried out in two stages. The first step analysis was described the image of Chinatown area using the descriptive qualitative method. The second step was tried to find the correlation between image of the Chinatown area and the Semarang city branding. Descriptive comparative technique used to compare between the existing and the trend of Chinatown development with theory image of the city. The result of this reserach is identification destination brand image based on 5 elements of the city image. The first element is path with character toponym of alley based on its history as well as the special function as trading area, namely the Gang Baru as traditional market path and Gang Warung as semicircular market path. The second element is edge that shown by the form of Kali Semarang and Gang Beteng which has a history of Chinatown development as centre trade zone in Semarang at the past until now. The third element is node that can be seen from every pagoda located at Chinatown junction (skewers location) because of the fengshui that is embraced by Chinatown communities and it is believed that the location of pagoda can protect against evil and crime. The fourth and fifth elements are districts and landmarks that represented by the Semawis Market and pagoda as the Confucian temple. As a conclusion, Semarang Chinatown's destination brand image as a historical and cultural tourism area of China is memorable and has a strong character.

Abstract

Abstract. The development of the region towards the outskirts of the city has become a common phenomenon of cities in Indonesia. The area that was formerly a deserted area is now a sought-after area of urban society. This is due to limited land in the city center causing the start of the spread of occupancy in the suburbs. The development of suburban areas that will undergo a transition causes a change of space in the region This phenomenon can be found in the city of Semarang. One of them is the district of Mijen Semarang. The area that was formerly a small settlement with the potential of rubber forest farming has changed into one of the elite areas in the city of Semarang. The emergence of housing Bukit Semarang Baru (BSB) as a catalyst has a great impact on the development of the surrounding environment. Bukit Semarang Baru (BSB) in Mijen District, Semarang City is a new city concept housing that provides housing, education, industry, recreation and other commercial facilities. The transfer of land from rubber plantation to BSB housing is estimated to cause the transformation of space related to the function and land use in the surrounding settlements, especially the area directly adjacent to the village of Wonolopo. This research uses a rationalistic approach with qualitative paradigm, which in this study aims to understand and know the pattern of settlement transformation in settlements that occur in the village Wonolopo, Mijen, Semarang. Through this research is expected to be able to analyze and know how big the change of settlement space

Abstract

Abstract. The construction industry is one of the most developed industries around the world. Similar to the housing construction industry, consumers who buy a house on the developers sometimes have a complaint about the units they buy. Because of the consumer complaints, the developers expend more money to use the services of foreman complaints. Quality of foreman complains determines the result of consumer complaint work. Elements of competence that affect the performance of the foreman complain were analyzed using SPSS and descriptive percentage. Descriptive method of percentage of frequency calculated in percent. The elements analyzed are the skills competence, the work experience competence, the discipline competence and the wage competency. The results of the research showed that the elements that affected the foreman complaints are the skills competence 88.56%, the work experience competence 85.56%, the skills competence 88.56% the discipline competence 89.07% and the wage competency 89.73%. The strategies that must be implemented to improve the performance of the foreman complain are to supervise the continues improvement of the team owner, and also repeat orders according to the portion (the foreman capacity), selecting the workman or labor that will be used by the foreman to do a job and also make a skill assessment from the foreman and his team, conducting training programs for the foreman and the craftsman can also be a strategy to improve the performance of the foreman complain.

Abstract

The complex mobility in Semarang city requires the efficient and effective provision and services of public transportation. Due to the condition of public transportation services is not proper, so it requires the presence of online transportation. Online transportation services have a flexibility (in routes and time) and it seems the society has their own private vehicles. Online transportation prices is more expensive than private vehicles or public transportation. But it provides flexibility and convenience as one of the alternative transportation mode.

Abstract

Abstract. Survey with GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) has the advantage of being faster and easier than the total station, but on the other hand the accuracy of GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) is considered lacking. This study was to determine the comparison of accuracy and efficiency of measuring land parcels using a total station and GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) method. The research location is at the Universitas Negeri Semarang campus by selecting areas that are open or unobstructed to satellites and congested areas or which have many obstacles to satellites. The results of this study indicate that for open areas, measurement with GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) method reaches a horizontal accuracy of 0.040 m with a time of 16 minutes 16 seconds. While the measurement using a horizontal accuracy of 0.00 Total Station with a length of time of 26 minutes 47 seconds. For areas that are densely measured, GPS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) achieves horizontal accuracy of 10.053 m with a length of time of 39 minutes 27 seconds. While the measurement using a precision horizontal Total Station 0.00 with the length of time 25 minutes 41 seconds.

Abstract

Abstract. The quality of the coordinates of the points in a generally horizontal control network will be influenced by many factors, such as the system equipment used for measuring / observation, the network geometry, measurement strategies / observation, as well as data processing strategy implemented. Using development of the GPS satellite system, since 1989, the network provision of horizontal control points in Indonesia generally relies on the GPS satellite observations. One way of measuring geodetic control points with high accuracy is using geodetic GPS. Measurement of geodetic control points required as a control in the execution of the work and as a correction coordinate measurement of the position of a measurement object with a high degree of accuracy (± 1 cm). How many measurement methods that can be done. This research conducted measurement using static method. Static surveys are used to determine the coordinates of the control points are relatively distant from each other as well as order accuracy requires relatively higher. The measurement results obtained coordinate data for point 1 is 6 ° 57 '31.92207 "LS; 109 ° 38 '32.25194 "BT; high (ellipsoid) 34 320 m and point 2 is 6 ° 57 '33.59086 "LS; 109 ° 38 '37.87710 "BT; high (ellipsoid) 36 235 m.

Abstract

Abstract. The use of coal waste (Fly Ash) is currently being developed in building materials technology, as a high-strength concrete mix material. This study aims to determine the strength of concrete by adding fly ash as a substitute for cement in high-strength concrete mixtures. This research was conducted with an experimental method to obtain results and data that would confirm the variables studied. The total number of specimens used in this study were 36 pieces with different sizes of cube tests which were 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm. A total of 36 concrete samples were used to test the compressive strength of concrete with a percentage of Fly Ash in  0% (normal concrete), 20%, 25% and 30% with a concrete treatment age of 7 days, 21 days and 28 days. A total of 12 more samples were used to test water absorption in concrete at 28 days of maintenance. Each percentage percentage of Fly Ash uses 3 concrete test samples. The increase in compressive strength occurs at 7, 21 and 28 days in concrete. However, the compressive strength of concrete produced by concrete using the percentage of Fly Ash is always lower than the value of normal concrete compressive strength. From testing the compressive strength of concrete at 28 days of treatment with content of 0%, 20%, 25% and 30% Fly Ash obtained results of 45.87 MPa, 42.67 MPa, 40.89 MPa, and 35.27 MPa respectively
