Abstract

Public Transportation in urban areas is expected to be main choice for people’s mobility. The aim of this research is apply value creation framework based on S-D Logic and Trans Jogja from Yogyakarta and Värmlandstrafik AB Sweden are the case study. This research use direct observation and interview to the related person/ company as the primary data, and to support them use group discussion with the users. This research also use secondary data from some journals, reports, documentations, etc. From the analysis and discussion Värmlandstrafik AB is address the value creation service and opportunity more than Trans Jogja. From conclusion, the need of applying value creation framework in Trans Jogja is to offer public transport improvement as has been illustrated by Trans Jogja. Although the achievement of value creation opportunities are not as high as that achieved by Värmlandstrafik AB, but Trans Jogja should learn about what needs should be improved. Keywords: S-D Logic, Value Creation Opportunity, Trans Jogja, Public Transport Improvement

Abstract

The population in Depok is growing in line with the growth of garbage produced. This issue should be balanced with the availability of proper waste management facility, such as providing waste collection vehicles. Pesona Khayangan residence is one of the area in Depok which has waste collection door-to-door service. The limited number of waste collection vehicles make it inefficient to reduce the mounting garbage. This research is aimed to determine the optimal route of waste collection in term of time and cost. The Travelling Salesman Problem is used to model the optimization problem. The solution shows that there is time and distance efficiency on the proposed route and it has successfully saved 50.2 minutes and 0.9 km per service operation. Keywords: waste collection, routing, travelling salesman problem

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in travel time and the factors that influence the differences in travel time of passengers and baggage movement in arrival terminal at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar. This research is a correlation study, using primary data from direct measurements in the field as well as secondary data derived from monthly reports of the Divisi Operasional Aeronautical Information Service, which is a fixed flight schedule, and from the Divisi Sisi Udara, in the form of data movement on the apron. Processing data in this study used the SPSS software. The analysis showed the smallest time difference between passengers and baggage occurs when using the bus, followed by the use of aviobridge. The greatest difference in time occurs when walking. It can be concluded that the use of the bus is more effective in reducing delays in baggage reception at the arrival terminal. Keywords: travel time, airport, ground handling, arrival terminal

Abstract

Bacan Island, located in South Halmahera, North Maluku Province, is a potential region with a variety of important sectors, such as plantations, fisheries, mining, tourism, industry and trade. Until recently, this potential has not been exploited fully due to lack of transportation infrastructure systems. The government has prepared the plan to construct the road network systems, which consist of five road segments connecting the potential regions. With limited funding available, it would be impossible to build the road in the same time. Therefore, an optimum and carefully planned prioritization program should be applied. The purpose of this study was to determine the priority of road construction on the island of Bacan using Important Performance Analysis and Analytical Hierarchy Process methods. The result shows that the criteria considered important in determining the prioritization of road construction are as follows: (a) accessibility, (b) linkage, (c) land use, (d) cost, (e) technical aspects, (f) economic, and (g) environment. It is recommended that the construction phases of the road network in Bacan Island are Labuha-Babang, Babang-Songa, Songa-Wayaua, Labuha-Sawadai, Sawadai-Kubung, Babang-Yaba, Labuha-Belang-belang, Belang-belang-Yaba, Songa-Wayatim, and Wayatim-Wayaua, consecutively. Keywords: road construction, Importance Performance Analysis , Analytical Hierarchy Process

Abstract

The increasing use of cars by students impact on traffic congestion and the increasing need for parking spaces. This study has several objectives , namely (1) determine differences in travel expenses for students who use cars and vanpool services, (2) determine barriers for students who have not and who never use the vanpool service, (3) find out the facilities and vanpool fares desired by the student, (4) determine the value of the Benefit Cost Ratio shuttle service operators at present, and (5) estimate a deficit or surplus experienced by the campus, as a result of tariff subsidies for shuttle services and finance the shuttle service management. The results of this study indicate that the cost of travel by using a shuttle service is cheaper than using a car for traveling to campus if the distance from residences to campus greater than 9 km, and the subsidies granted for vanpool fares and vanpool office cost, can help overcome constraints associated with the shuttle service, parking demand reduction, and provide a budget surplus to fund other campus transportation management strategies. Keywords: parking demand, campus transport management, vanpool

Abstract

The provision of freight infrastructure linking the hinterland to the port requires agreement between actors. However, in reality there is a policy conflict in the development of a regional freight infrastructure, such as in the case of the Aloha Perak Toll Road construction in Surabaya. This study aims to discuss actor relationship in the freight transport infrastructure development strategy to support export activities in Tanjung Perak Port of Surabaya, using Dynamic Actor Network Analysis. It is found that there is an action conflict in achieving smooth flow of goods coming from the hinterland to the port, particularly between the city of Surabaya Planning Board and the East Java Province Planning Board. The conflict can be minimized by the existence of jujitsu negotiation and BATNA, because the Surabaya City Government, as the owner of the land, has greater power than the Provincial Government. Keywords: regional freight infrastructure, Dynamic Actor Network Analysis, action conflict, conflict management technique

Abstract

Pedestrians have a weak position when mixed with vehicular traffic . Therefore, it required facilities for pedestrians , which can be a pedestrian corridor. In reality, it is often found that the pedestrian corridors are improperly used, when the carridor is used for trading places resulting reduced spaces for pedestrians. All of these in turn reduces the level of service for pedestrians. This study was conducted in the market area of Jalan Kahayan, Cilik Riwut, in the City of Palangkaraya. Observations were made at the peak and at the normal time. The level of service is measured based on the concept of Level of Service described in the US Highway Capacity Manual 1994. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference material for designing pedestrian facilities which are not at present available in the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual . The results indicate that the level of service in the pedestrian corridor of Pasar Kahayan is D in peak condition, C in normal conditions, and D in a combined time conditions .

Abstract

In addition to the volume to road capacity ratio, another indicator for the level of service of the road is the average traffic speed. Once the road capacity is exceeded, the lower the average traffic speed means the worse the performance of the road. The traffic speed information is also required as an input to the Real Time Traffic Information System. This purpose of this study is to measure the average traffic speed on a road segment using information obtained from the Global Positioning System. Off - roadway technologies using satellite technology have advantages in managing information position, direction and movement speed. In this observation a test vehicle equipped with the Global Positioning System moved along the urban road network and monitored in real time from a Control Center. When the position data of the test vehicles Control Center can connect directly with road network information system, the average traffic speed on the road can be obtained in real time condition. In addition as an indicator of the level of service of the road, with an average speed data, it can also be used for predicting traffic volume in an urban road network. Keywords: traffic speed, Global Positioning System, level of service of roads, traffic information system
