Problem in the research was started from observation the author encountered in the field that many students have not been able to do 100 metre breaststroke swimming well. It could be seen when students did not finish 100 metre breaststroke swimming. The purpose of this research was to know the legs muscle strength and endurance with a speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming of the students from Sports Education Riau University. This type of research was correlational. The population in this research was 53 students from Sports Education. Purposive sampling was used to get sample as many as 30 students. To get the data, it was used legs muscle strength and endurance and speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming. The data were analyzed with correlation simple product moment. Based on the analysis of data, it was found that there was a significant relationship between legs muscle strength and endurance and speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming of the student form Sports Education Riau University, in which r.count (0,455) > r. table (0,361) on α (0,05).Key Words: Legs muscle strength and endurance, speed of 100 metre breaststroke swimming.

This research was qualitative research with descriptive method. Subject was student teachers who took Fundamental Science 1. Based on validity analysis of item on 1 % significance level, there were 16 valid items, 26 valid ietms for 5 % significance level, and 14 invalid items. Then, analysis of distinguishing items, the item number 20 was very worst, 15 items were poor, other 15 item were fair and the other items were good. Meanwhile, analysis of level of difficulty, 17 item were very easy, 9 items were easy, 11 items were moderate, an item was difficult, and the others were very difficult. PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPENUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS Vd SDN 184 PEKANBARU Hendri Marhadi

The problem in this research was students’ achievement in fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru still low with average value 68,63 (with KKM 70). The purpose of this research was to improve the students’ achievement of the fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru with the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT). This research was an classroom action research with two cycles in second semester 2013/2014. After implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT), students’ achievement average on test I was 72,50 that improved 5,63% from pre test with average 68,63. Students’ achievement average on test II was 86,16 that improved 25,54%. Teacher’s activity with the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) in first meeting of first cycle was 70,00% (good category), and 76,16% (good category) in second meeting that improved 6,16 point. At second cycle, teacher’s activity in first meeting was 91,66% (verygood category) that improved 15,5 point from second meeting of first cycle. It got 95,83% (verygood category) in second meeting, which improved 4,17 point. Students’ activity in first meeting of first cycle was 66,66% (good category), and 70,83% (good category) in second meeting that improved 4,17 point. At second cycle, students’ activity in first meeting was 76,16% (good category) that improved 5,33 point from second meeting of first cycle. Finally, it got 91,66% (verygood category) in second meeting, which improved 15,5 point. So, the implementation of cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) can improved students’ achievement of fifth graderes (Vd) SDN 184 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Cooperative learning type NHT, student’s achievement, student’s activity, teacher’s activity.

The result of fifth grade students’ learning sport from SDN 09 Rumbai Pekanbaru was still low because the method used did not suitable with learning materials. Because of that problem, researcher used direct instructional model in learning table tennis games that could improve the result of fifth grade students’ learning table tennis from SDN 09 Rumbai Pekanbaru. After applying direct instructional model, it could been seen from the teacher’s activity that increased in the first cycle from the first meeting (70%) to the second meeting (75%), and in the second cycle also increased from 85% in the third meeting to 95% in the fourth meeting The students’ activity also increased in the first cycle from 60% in the first meeting to 75% in the second meeting, and in the second cycle also increased from 90% in the third meeting to 95% in the fourth meeting. In the last exam in first cycle average of the students’ learning result increased 2.06 point from based score 69.87 to 72.93. In the last exam in second cycle increased 6.94 point from first cycle to 79.87. From the data analysis, the teacher’s activities, the students’ activities, and the result of students’ learning increased. So, it could be concluded that applying direct instructional model increased the result of fifth grade students’ learning sport from SDN 09 Rumbai Pekanbaru.Key words: direct instructional model, table tennis games

Based on the writer’s observations in the field showed speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University was still low. This research aimed to know the influence weight method towards the speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University. This research method was an experimental research (a quasi-experimental). This research population were totally 13 athletes, whereas the samples were taken through total sampling so that it was got 13 male athletes. A test was used to find out the speed of Tendangan Sabit of Pencak Silat from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University. The Data obtained were analyzed using t-test. The Results of the analysis of the data indicates that weight method gives a significant influence toward the speed of Tendangan Sabit from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University since T-obs (5.839) was bigger than T-table (1.782). (3) It can be seen that weight method a significant influence toward the speed of Tendangan Sabit from Students Community Unit of Riau Islamic University.Key words: weight method, speed of Tendangan Sabit, Pencak Silat.

The research is aimed to see and give the description whether the using of card as a learning media can increase the students` achievement in learning japanese language this research design uses action research that consists of two cycles. Every cycle consists of plan, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument used to know the students` activity during the teachung and learning process.This research consists of two cycles. Every cycle consits of four meetings. If there is a weakness in the first cycle, it result will be repaired in the second cycle. The result of the research is that 1, 56% students listens teacher`s explanation, 14, 06 % students take note from the tacher`s explanation, 44, 53 % students give opinion, 23, 44 % students ask questions, and 43, 34 % students answer the questions. By using card as media in learning process, it is hoped that the students will be motivated and interested in learning japanese language.Key words : media card, development of the result learning

The problem in this study was the lack of ability to appreciate the art works on PGSD FKIP-UR students that could be seen from the ability to distinguish works of craft and art works. The students had low ability to explain the function and meaning of craft objects in public life in accordance with the local culture. They had also lack of awards both morally and materially to the creation of creative crafts. They had lack of ability in the understanding of concepts, reasoning, and problem solving art crafts. Based on the problems it was necessary to find away to solve those problems. The teaching methods were needed to be changed. In this study, the researcher applied local wisdom approach. This research was conducted in two cycles, in which each cycle consisted of two meetings. The application of local wisdom approach involved a conscious effort to engage students actively and creatively. Subjects in this study were fourth semester PGSD FKIP-UR students. Research data collection instruments consisted of observation activity sheets and sheets of faculty and students to replay the end of the test cycle. The study was a classroom action research (CAR). This study aimed to increase art appreciation fourth semester PGSD FKIP-UR students. The results of this study indicated that the application of local wisdom approach improved PGSD FKIP-UR students’ art appreciation, with the average value of the initial score 58,41into 84,75 in the second cycle. The average value of faculty activity sheet also increased from an average score 68,15 into 94.75. Students’ activities also increased from an average score 63,24% in the first cycle to 89.80%. Thus, the research hypothesis, if applying local wisdom approach, the ability of PGSD FKIP-UR students to approach art appreciation increased, was proven.Key words: local wisdom, art appreciation

Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to improve learning outcomes in grade VI SDN 22 Sungai Pakning. On the basis of the necessary application of the cooperative model STAD type to be able to assist students in improving their knowledge. Use of cooperative model STAD type of learning is expected to improve students' skills in science teaching in turn is expected to increase learning outcomes are achieved. After the action, then monitored, and the data collected, further processed and analyzed, the obtained result is the average percentage of mastery learning students ranging from pre cycle=41,00%, the first cycle=62,50%, and the second cycle=91,66%. Based on the above, it can be concluded that the cooperative model type STAD effect on improving student learning outcomes.Key words : cooperative model, learning outcomes

PERBANDINGAN KEMAMPUAN CALISTUNG SISWA KELAS II SDN 79 PEKANBARU DENGAN PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN TEMATIK SAINTIFIK Meisal, Ulil

The research method used is a quasi-experimental method which consists of experimental class and class II controlkelas SDN 79 Pekanbaru, which illustrates a significant difference in the ability to calistung between the two. Research on the data pretest seen from arithmetic average of the experimental 70.66 and control 65.9, experimental writing skills 77, and controls 71.6, experimental ability to read 76, and controls 77.5. To find significant differences in the ability of the chi square analysis was used to calculate the ability Xhitung <Xtabel (1.67 <3.841), there was no significant difference, the ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (0.6 <3.841), there was no significant difference on writing skills, and the ability to read with Xhitung <Xtabel (1.12 <3.841), there was no significant difference in reading ability. Posttest data seen from the average value of the experimental class numeracy 75.6 and 71.7 control, the ability to write an experimental class 81.9 and control 74.6, literacy class experimental 82.1 and control 78.5. To determine differences in the ability to use the chi square analysis on numeracy Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference in the experimental class and the control class numeracy skills. The ability to write with Xhitung <Xtabel (3.51 <3.841), there was no significant difference, while the ability to read Xhitung <Xtabel (0.71 <3.841), there was no significant difference. Improved results in the experimental class capabilities calistung numeracy skills of 0.15, and control 0.16, the ability to write of 0.26, and control 0.11, the ability to read the experimental class of 0.31, and controls 0.07, it is seen larger in capacity building calistung the experimental class.Key words: calistung, scientific thematics, numeracy skills, reading skills, and writing skills

Problem in the research was started from observation that the author encountered in the field. It turned out the implementation of the O’Brien shot-put movement of second semester students at Sports Coaching Education Riau University was still a lot of lack such that students’ shooting was not so optimal which was allegedly influenced by powerful arm and leg muscles. The purpose of this research was to find the contribution of powerful arm and leg muscles to the shot-put result of second semester students at Sports Coaching Education Riau University. The research method was correlation. The population in this research was 78 second semester students of Sports Coaching Education Riau University using purposive sampling technique. The sample on this research was defined as many as 45 male students who had passed the O’Brien shot-put style. To get the data researchers used a shot-put test, standing broad jump and the O’Brien shot-put result. The data were analyzed with product moment and coefficients of determinant for determining contributions. Based on the analysis of the data it was found that there was a significant relationship between the powerful arm muscles and the shot-put result obtained r.count 0,257 > r.table 0,294 with contributions amount 9,36%, then there was a significant relationship between the powerful leg muscles and shot-put result, obtained r.count 0,816 > r.table 0,294 with contributions amount 66,59%, and there was also a significant relationship between the powerful arm and leg muscles and the O’Brien shot-put result second semester students at Sports Coaching Education Riau University, obtained r.count 0,819 > r.table 0,294 with contributions amount 67,07%.Key words: powerful arm muscles, powerful leg muscles, shot-put result
