Abstract

                                                 ABSTRACTThe study was conducted in Desember 2017 to March 2018 in the Carolina Beach Padang City West Sumatera Province. The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristic of sediment in the area based on sediment grain size distribution, fraction sediment type, sediment statistic parameters and sediment compotition. The metdhod used was survey with purposive sampling method, where the location of study was divided into 10 sampling points across the shoreline changed area. The result showed that the study area was dominated by muddy sand sediment with sediment compotition of lithogenous. Based on their sediment characteristic location of study was divided into 3 area,  (1) abration area, (2) accretion area and (3) estuary area. Founded that there were sediment fraction difference between the accretion area and abration area. Key words: Characteristic of Sediment, Shoreline Change, Carolina Beach

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sirandah Island is one of the small islands in Padang City, a tourist destination of the bustling islands visited today. This studywas conducted inMay 2018, aims to analyze the suitability of the area owned by Sirandah Island by taking into account the land suitability index of Sirandah Island, so that it can be developed as a tourist area and marine ecotourism.The method used is tourism conformity analysis with calculation of score and weight. The results show that the condition of the coastal area around Sirandah Island is still in good condition. Overall the island is surrounded by shore beaches, white sandy sediments, classified as sloping, the coast is wide and wide. Waters around the island has a depth of the sea reaches 50 m (near the coast is still 0 - 10 m), belonging to shallow water. The surface current condition is quite low, ranging from 0.07 - 0.12 m / s. The quality of seawater around the island is also quite good, the temperature value (SPL) ranges from 31 ° C, pH 6, salinity 34 - 35 ppt and 10 m (10%) water transparency. The condition of coastal and aquatic characteristics of Sirandah Island is very supportive for island tourism, namely beach tourism (recreation) very appropriate (S1) with value 86,96%, coastal tourism category boating, banana boat, and jet ski according to (S2) with value 17.33. Keyword : level of conformity, marine ecotourism, Sirandah Island

Abstract

                                                AbtracPier is one of main facilities at Cilacap Fishing Port which is very needed for a port. The importance of the pier for fishing port can be seen by the pier’s separation according to the activities. The success of a fishing port in operational can be seen from the activities on the pier. The purpose of this study is to determine the utilization of the pier and the utilization rate of the pier at the Cilacap Fishing Port. This research has been conducted at Cilacap Fishing Port using survey method by conducting observation and direct interview with local port and fisherman. The results showed that the utilization of the pier at the Cilacap Fishing Port spesifically the I’s Pier has the utilization of loading and unloading pier for 105.66%, while the utilization rate of loading and unloading at II’s and the last is III’s Pier has the number of utilization rate about 121.27%. The percentage of utilization level of both pier is categorized as very well.Key words: Pier, Cilacap Fishing Port, Rate of Utilization.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT             This research aims to understand the consumer acceptance rate and chemical aspect towards freshwater mussel (Anadontasp) biscuit. Main ingredient used in freshwater mussel biscuit was fresh freshwater mussel from Sei Paku, Kampar Kiri districts Kampar regency. Method used in this research was expreimental method. Design used was completely  randomized design non factorial with 3 used treatments degree 20 g freshwater mussel (B1), 40 g freshwater mussel (B2), and 60 g freshwater mussel (B3) with 3 times repetitions. The result showed that based on consumer acceptance rate in freshwater mussel biscuit processing with different freshwater mussel meat that formulation with 40 g freshwater mussel meat (B2) was the most favor by general which affected consumer acceptance characteristic with golden yellow appearance, mussel meat flavor more precise, specific mussel aroma, and meat texture savory and solid. Based on quality parameter that freshwater mussel biscuit affected organoleptic value (appearance, flavor, aroma) and did not affect texture value, also affected on proximate water content value (8,39%), protein content (9,56%), fat content (8,44%) and ash content (0,89%). Keywords: biscuit, Anadonta sp, consumer acceptance

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed to determine the exact concentration and soaking time on liquid smoked solvent of sago bark to the microbiology quality.The experimental method was used in this research with factorial Completely Randomized Design. The first factor was the concentration of liquid smoked solvent with 3 treatment levels K1 (5%), K2 (7%) and K3 (9%), the second factor was soaking time on liquid smoked solvent with 3 treatment levels L0 (0 minute), L1 (60 minutes) and L2 (120 minutes). The tested parameters were microbiology analysis (total  bacterial colony, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella sp, Escherichia coli) and organoleptik analysis (appearance, odor, taste and texture). The result showed that the smoked catfish fillet was significantly affect to the microbiology and organoleptik quality. Whereas the treatment with 9% of liquid smoked solvent and 120 minutes of soaking time (K3L2) was the best treatment with total bacterial colony 2.43 x 103colony/g, Staphylococcus aureus 0.73 x102colony/g, Salmonella sp (negatif), Escherichia coli<3 AMP/g, and organoleptik appearance K3L1with characteristics of  clean and shiny brown color (7.13),a distinctive of smoked odor(7.88) and taste (7.32),and a compact texture (7.35).

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted for 56 days from June to August 2017. The aim of this research is todetermine the number of water hyacinth leaf meal fermented using cow rumen liquo in diets on growth of Pangasius (P. hypohthalmus).This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The fish used in this research with  in2g of weight.Fish were reared in 1m3 cages with the stocking density of 25 fish/cage. Feeding trials were replacing with soybean meal with fermented water hyacinth  applied to P0 (0%), P1(30%), P2 (40%), P3 (50%) and P4 (60%) for 35% of protein content.The result showed that fermentedwater hyacinth (P<0.05) on give growth, and feed efficiency of P.hypophthalmus retention. Replacement 40% of water hyacinth fermentatied highest spesific growth rate 3,60%, feed eficiency 41,01%, feed digestibility81,38 %. Key word : Fermentation, Pangasius hypophthalmus, Rumen liquor, Water hyacinth

Abstract

 AbstrackHeavy metals in the water might be accumulated in the sediment as well in the aquatic organisms such as Pangasius polyuranodon. The purpose of this research is to understand the Pb content in the water, sediment and in the muscle of the fish captured in the Siak River. This research was conducted in February-March 2018. There were 3 stations, in the cruise line (St1), in the industrial ship building (St2) and in the residential area (St3). Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/2 days. Results shown that the highest concentration of Pb was in station II. In the water, the concentration of Pb was 0.820 mg/L, in the sediment Pb was 15.450 mg/Kg and in the fish muscle Pb was 2.778 mg/Kg. The concentration of Pb in water and sediments shown that the study area has been polluted and thus affect the aquatic organisms including fish. Logam berat di dalam air akan terakumulasi dalam sedimen dan juga terakumulasi dalam tubuh organisme akuatik salah satunya ikan juaro (Pangasius polyuranodon Blkr). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat Pb dalam air, sedimen dan daging ikan juaro di perairan Sungai Siak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2018. Dimana terbagi 3 stasiun, yaitu di jalur pelayaran (St 1), di industri galangan kapal (St2) dan di area pemukiman (St3). Pengambilan sampel dilakukan 3 kali, yaitu 2 hari sekali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi Pb tertinggi terdapat di stasiun II. Dalam air, konsentrasi Pb adalah 0,820 mg/L, dalam sedimen adalah 15,450 mg/Kg dan di dalam daging ikan juaro adalah 2,778 mg/Kg. Konsentrasi Pb di air dan di sedimen menunjukkan area penelitian telah tercemar dan memberikan dampak terhadap organisme akuatik termasuk ikan.  Keyword : Heavy metal, plumbum, pollutant, fish.

Abstract

AbstractNerita lineata is one type of mollusc from the family Neritidae which has economic value. This research was conducted in Maret 2018 located at the mangrove forest of Sungai Cingam Village, Rupat Sub District, Bengkalis Regency. This research was aimed to determine the population structure N. lineata which cover density, distribution patterns and size distribution. This research used survey method and sampling location determined by purposive sampling. Measurement of water quality was done by in situ and ex situ which consist of physics and chemical parameters. Condition of N. lineata habitat was muddy sand, sandy mud and sandy. Sediment organic matter was medium and very high 2.97-30.58 %. The water quality parameters are still support for the life of the gastropods. The average density was 3.45 ind/m2. The highest density was in station II and the lowest in station I. The distribution pattern was grouping. The size of the gastropods found has a length 10-26 mm.Keyword: Population Structure, Density, Distribution Patterns, Nerita lineata.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted on November 2017 at Nusantara Port of Sibolga, North Sumatera Province. The purpose of this study is to study the timing of the catching season to catch tuna (Euthynnus Affinis) and to obtain fluctuation of catch fish in Sibolga waters. This study uses survey method, monthly production data and data effort obtained from VAT Sibolga, North Sumatra Province and analyzed with the average percentage based on time series. Based on the calculation of the average percentage method so as to get the Season of the Catching Index (IMP) for five years, fish Tongkol in Sibolga waters can be caught throughout the year. The catching season is in March, April, May and November with the peak of the arresting season in November that is in the West season. Key word : The pattern of tuna fishing season

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research was conducted for 56 days from August to October 2017. The aim of this research was to know percentage of fermented leucaena leaf meal in the diets to substitute soybean meal and its effect on growth and feed efficiency of Tambaqui fingerling. Completely randomized design (CRD) was used in this experiment, with one factor, five level treatments and three replications. The fish used in this research with size 3-5 cm in 0,6-0,8 g of weight. Fish were reared in 1 m3 cages with stocking density 25 fish/cages. Feeding trial were replacing soybean meal with fermented leucaena leaf meal applied to P1 (0%), P2 (10%), P3 (20%), P4 (30%), and P5 (40%)for 35% of protein content. The result showed that fermented leucaena leaf meal gave significant effect (P>0,05) on growth, feed efficiency and feed digestibility of Tambaqui fingerling. Replacement 30% fermented leucaena leaf meal produce the highest specific growth rate 4,9%, feed efficiency 47,1% and feed digestibility 71,26%.Key word :Colossoma macropomum,Fermentation, Growth, Leucaena Leaf Meal, Soybean Meal.
