Abstract

Good method, proper time, and ergonomic place are required in daily human activities. They are also required in electrical plug assembly activities, in which the speed of assembly is a very important factor. The research begins by investigating the plug assembly process using time and  motions study. The data were presented on the left hand map and right hand map. By changing the type of screwdriver, changing the component layout, balance the tasks and motions of the left and right hand, will increasing the speed of assembly from 90 seconds to 75 seconds. Keywords: hand motions, layout, cycle time

Abstract

Gas stations are public facilities crucial for motorists. Mobile applications installed in smartphones such as GPS and integrated internet connection can help motorists  find the nearest gas station in a fast and easy way. Mobile application used in this research is based on Android platform considering the android’s popularity. This application can be employed to locate the gas station  around its user’s location and to navigate them to the nearest one. Finding out the nearest location route can minimize the risk of running out of fuel. Users can also maximize the use of smartphone by using this application. A series of steps taken in this research include literature study, observation, flowchart design, Unified Modeling Language (UML), and interface and database design. Abstract

PT Federal Superior Chain Manufacturing is a motorcycle chains manufacturing company. PT Federal Superior Chain has a problem with the finishing line of drive chain OEM AHM. The finishing work station’s time is imbalance. It makes bottleneck between work station in finishing line. The purpose of this paper is to balance the finishing line of drive chain OEM AHM and reduce bottleneck between workstation in finishing line. The method used is Line balancing Methods and Time Measurement Methods. These improvements increase line efficiency, which was originally only 50.81% to 64.3%. These improvements also reduce cycle time on the finishing line from 4059.27 seconds to 3215.98 seconds. The capacity of drive chain increase from 463.40 lot to 466.50 lot Keywords: bottleneck, efficiency, methods time measurement, line balancing, cycle time

Abstract

Knowledge sharing is one of important issues in a company because it is a required approach to facilitate knowledge recording and to improve the effectiveness of knowledge sharing among colleagues. Knowledge sharing accelarates the knowledge transfer. The application of knowledge sharing with the web based system is expected to be a solution for meeting the organization’s needs. The absence of policy and culture among the lecturers to carry out web based knowledge management results in knowledge sharing difficulties among the students and the faculty members in the long run. Abstract

During this assignment problem can be solved only by the Hungarian method. Though highly effective approach to the dynamic program to solve the assignment problem. This paper describes a problem solving assignment for five machines and five jobs. The results showed that both methods give the same solution. Even the difficulty in precisely Hungarian Method can be helped by using a dynamic program approach.  Keywords: assignment problem, Hungarian Method, dynamic programming, foreward recursive equation, backward recursive equation.
