Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of SEFT as an Islamic-based traumatic counseling therapy in reducing depression in elderly women, and how these elderly women are a vulnerable group to depression. This study used an experimental method with a Single-Subject Research (SSR) with an ABA design that aims to determine the use of SEFT therapy to treat depression in the elderly. The measurement of depression levels was carried out with Geriatric Depression Scale, scale of 0 to 15. The population of this study was 14 elderly patients in the RPSBM of Pekalongan. The sampling was done by purposive sampling, through various considerations, taking a sample of the elderly who are physically healthy, and not senile, with a total sample of 5 elderly women. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study show that the majority of the elderly in RPSBM experience depression due to unpleasant experiences. The treatment carried out through Traumatic Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) significantly effective in reducing depression in elderly women, seen from the Wilcoxon statistical test that the probability value is below 0.05, namely 0.0195 <0.05. The reduction in depression in the elderly ranged from 40% to 56%. Some indications of a decrease in the level of depression in the elderly can be seen from physical and psychological changes. The success of the SEFT technique lies in its strength in strengthening the elderly to be sure, sincere, and grateful for all existing life.

Abstract

The problems faced by street kids are quite numerous and varied. Such as living in inappropriate places, poor family income, unmet living needs, and lack of relationship with parents. Most of their parents do not have a proper educational background, so in educating children they still use patterns of violence without considering the psychological effects on the child. The problems faced by street children cannot be separated from the influence of their parents, so need to involve their parents as the main educators. The purpose of this study is to apply a Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach to provide understanding to parents of street children at the Rumah Alif Community Foundation in educating and building good relationships with children. SFBT is carried out with an individual approach and strengthened with group counseling. This approach is appropriate because SFBT only takes less time and resources for treatment. Through a qualitative research approach with an interview and observation methods, results described that SFBT can help parents to understand their child's problems, find various alternative solutions and pay attention to the child's psychological side. The relationship between parents and children becomes better so that children become open to their parents.

Abstract

Recently, the world experiences a striking process of modernization that provokes dehumanization phenomena. Consequently, modern society encounters a spiritual crisis (azmah ruhaniyah), primarily caused by greediness rationalism mind-set as the consequence of technology hegemony. Particularly, in the industry 4.0 revolution era, its prevalent challenge is the appearance of disruptive technology that affects almost every aspect of life, including the spiritual aspect. This spiritual crisis affects the formation of soul-sick (qalbun saqim). One of the examples is the pseudo happiness that has become an epidemic in various kinds of social media like WhatsApp (WA), Instagram (IG), Facebook (FB), Twitter, and so forth. Social media users share happiness content without being accompanied by their real emotions. These emotions are illustrated as pseudo happiness, which is the fake happiness acknowledged by the people. In this study, the researchers formulated happiness literacy by using the detection and education method to realize authentic happiness. The detection of pseudo happiness refers to the indicators built based on the universal values of the Quran. This idea is presented on a website named literasibahagia.or.id to ease the access of technologically literate users. The findings of this study unravel the decreasing pseudo happiness on social media, along with society's local culture usage on social media

Abstract

This article was written with the aim of exploring Al-Maraghi's thoughts on the principles of Islamic guidance and counseling in Al-Qur’an surah Yunus verse 57. This article is the result of an exploration of reading sources related to the principles of Islamic counseling guidance that counselors refer to. The analytical method used in the literature review is the content analysis method. This article is the result of Al-Maraghi's interpretation of the surah Yunus verse 57. The results showed that counselors in conducting guidance and counseling must refer to four principles. First, the counselor must provide advice and direction to clients in good words that can soften the client's heart so that it can inspire clients to take the positive actions and leave the negative actions. Second, the counselor tried to treat clients from various diseases of the heart such as shirk, nifaq and other diseases of the heart that could make the client's heart restless and problematic. Various diseases of the heart that must be treated are indecisive in belief, quarrelsome, abusive behavior and disliking what is right and good. Third, the counselor must direct the client to the right path and beliefs so that he can avoid wrong beliefs and actions. Fourth, the counselor must internalize the values of rahmah or client affection so that clients are happy with something good and willing to help difficult and weak people. In addition, clients can refrain from doing dhalim and hostility.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of Islamic Art Therapy with Doodle Art in escalating student’s self-confidence at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, as well as the effect of therapy. The study uses a qualitative experimental case study with single subject design model. Descriptive-comparative analysis is used by collecting data through observations, interviews, questionnaire, and documentation. The subjects were two students who had 10 indicators of low self-confidence based on observations and interviews, and their self-confidence scores were at a weak level based on the Lauster questionnaire. The five stages of therapy were implemented to the subjects six times in a month, including Warm up, Draw My Emoji, Motivational Session, Draw My Doodle, and the last, Evaluation and Follow up. The results showed that therapy has been implemented as planned procedure, however, at the first and second meetings, the motivational session requires a fairly long portion of time. The effects of therapy were emerged on changes in the level of student self-confidence. Seven out of 10 indicators have changed, which means there is a fairly high increase in self-confidence. However, the confidence score of two subjects was still in low level based on the Lauster questionnaire, even so, the score shows an increase. Suggestions for further research, the results might be different if the process of Islamic art therapy considers aspects in the Lauster questionnaire.
