Abstract

This research will open up a new discussion regarding the resilience of a region in facing the Covid-19 Pandemic. Aim of this researcher is to depict vulnerability of the region towards pandemic Covid-19. The analysis of this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with spatial identification and literature review. From the literature review, there are 5 factors of defense geography that can be used to identified regional vulnerability, which are secure location, topographical depression, population density, land use and distribution of health services. Based on the results obtained, it is known that there are some regions that have Tinggi vulnerability and yet still struggling in facing the Pandemic Covid-19 such as Karimun and Kundur. But there are also regions that have Tinggi vulnerability but can push down the spreading such as Moro, Durai,Meral, Meral Barat and Tebing Subdistricts. Some other regions that have Sedang and Rendah vulnerability also can deal with pandemic very well.

Abstract

This study examines and describes the process of establishing organizational identity as a means of enhancing social resilience; in this case the application of Al-Ma'un values as the organization's unique identity. This study concentrated on the Hospital Umamt Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta (PKU). This research contributes theoretically to the development of organizational theory by focusing on the religiosity of organizational identity as a relatively new object of study in social sciences, particularly organizational social resilience. This study uses a qualitative case study method to obtain data, information, and knowledge related to members' awareness of Al-Ma'un, which was the source of inspiration for the birth of this hospital in 1923. Informants consisted of employees, with primary data collection through in-depth interviews. The findings indicated that Al-Ma'un members' identification with their values had been internalized into a nested identity that evolved into the organizational identity of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta. Theoretically, this study discovered a robust and enduring distinctive value for the three CED criteria (central, enduring, distinctive) in the concept of organizational identity, thereby supporting the value of social resilience. Al-Ma'un is what distinguishes PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital from other hospitals. However, the fact indicates that there is still some misalignment of values, as several health workers at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital continue to exhibit inconsistent Islamic behavior.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe conversion of agricultural land that was still happening caused a decrease in land for food production. Decrease in food production could reduce food availability so that it became a threat to food resilience. The Ministry of Agriculture in 2020 launched the Sustainable Food Garden or Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L) activity which aimed to increased availability, accessibility, and utilization of food. The success of P2L activities was determined by the participation of farmer women’s group members or Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) members in these activities. The objectives of the study were to: (1) Describing the participation of farmer women’s group members in P2L activities, and (2) Describing the effect of farmer women’s group members participation in P2L activities on household food resilience. This research was carried out with 6 KWT samples of beneficiaries of P2L activities in 2020 in Gunungkidul Regency which were taken by stratified cluster sampling. Primary data collection was done by direct interviews using a questionnaire to 138 respondents from KWT members taken by random sampling from 6 KWT samples. Data analysis had been done by using descriptive statistic and simple linear regression. The results showed that KWT members often and very often participated of attendance, but KWT members never and rarely participated of money and new ideas in P2L activities. The results of simple linear regression analysis showed that the participation of KWT members had a significant effect on household food resilience, namely the more often the participation of KWT members in P2L activities, the household food resilience of KWT members increases.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAs an agricultural country, Indonesia had abundant natural resources necessary to realized national goals. Natural resources, particularly agriculture, had focused on achieving food resilience  throughout history. At the same time, it could also be used to enhanced the energy resilience  program by utilizing the agricultural residue as a raw material for bioenergy production. Moreover, since 2019, the Covid-19 pandemic had threatened national stability, including food resilience  and the economy. Hence, the Indonesian government decided to developed a food estate program in several provinces through marginal land intensification to produced the food. This study aimed to assessed the agricultural resources' potential to supplied food and energy and its optimization strategies to realized the national defense goals. The research design of this study used descriptive analysis to evaluated the state of agricultural resources. In addition, a resource-focused approach was used to figured out the theoretical potential energy of agricultural residue based on data from each year and the characteristics of crops. The results showed that the amount of energy produced continued to rised  in lockstep with agricultural production and would continue to increased gradually. The annual agricultural waste potential, such as rice residue, had been estimated to generated more than 1300 TJ of energy potential, equivalent to 10 GW of electrical energy. In the future, the sustainability of biomass residue utilization considering environmental, social, and economic factors would support national resilience  programs.

The data collection techniques used were (1) observation (2) interviews, and (3) documentation with data analysis techniques through qualitative description analysis which drew conclusions analytically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicated that Department of Fishery of SBT Regency had not carried out its main duties and functions optimally. The limitations of its implementation, both the role and implementation of policies, were still hampered by a number of factors, namely budget constraints, low quality of human resources, government policies and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. So, that the local governments had not been effective in managing and utilizing fishery resources. The implication of the role of Office of Fishery of SBT in empowering fishermen showed that it still had not had a positive influence on the economic condition of the fishermen's families, most of the fishing families had family economic resilience that was included in the less resilient category, namely there were still many family of fisherman who lived in poverty. In order to supporedt the success of the role of the Department of Fisheries, a number of supporting factors were needed that could encourage the regional economy through marine and fisheries-based regional development, namely fishery resources, human resources and government policies (budget).
