Abstract

There is currently no standard for the Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) in the palm oil industry. SEC is a value that can be used as an indicator to measure the optimization level in the use of energy. Indonesia as one of the largest palm oil producing countries requires a standard for energy intensity in the palm oil industry. SEC in palm oil mill is defined in the amount of energy per unit of production (kWh/kg). The classifying method that has been used in this study is K-means cluster analysis with the measurement samples in 14 palm oil mills for 12 months of period. This study has suggested the SEC standard for Indonesian palm oil industry and it is expected to be SEC reference for other studies in the palm oil industry.

Abstract

The gesture is one of the most natural and expressive methods for the hearing impaired. Most researchers, however, focus on either static gestures, postures or a small group of dynamic gestures due to the complexity of dynamic gestures. We propose the Kinect Translation Tool to recognize the user's gesture. As a result, the Kinect Translation Tool can be used for bilateral communication with the deaf community. Since real-time detection of a large number of dynamic gestures is taken into account, some efficient algorithms and models are required. The dynamic time warping algorithm is used here to detect and translate the gesture. Kinect Sign Language should translate sign language into written and spoken words. Conversely, people can reply directly with their spoken word, which is converted into literal text together with the animated 3D sign language gestures. The user study, which included several prototypes of the user interface, was carried out with the observation of ten participants who had to gesture and spell the phrases in American Sign Language (ASL). The speech recognition tests for simple phrases have therefore shown good results. The system also recognized the participant's gesture very well during the test. The study suggested that a natural user interface with Microsoft Kinect could be interpreted as a sign language translator for the hearing impaired.

Abstract

Final Gear terdiri dari pinion gear dan ring gear, yang terletak di dalam differential atau gardan. Terdapat hubungan antara final gear pada pinion gear dengan efisiensi daya / power engine kendaraan atau truck. Daya/Power Engine pada truck dinyatakan dalam satuan hp dimana Power yang dibutuhkan kendaraan di pengaruhi oleh daya tahanan gelinding, daya tahanan udara, daya tahanan kelandaian, daya energi kinetis dan daya internal engine. Awal penelitian dimulai dengan pemilihan jenis pinion gear baik dari sisi harga, material, jumlah gigi, suku cadang dan kesesuaian dengan pasangannya. Dari hasil pemilihan tersebut ada 2 jenis dari 3 jenis pinion gear yang ada di pasaran dan 2 jenis tersebut menjadi sample penelitian. Yaitu jenis pinion gear dengan jumlah gigi 11 dan jumlah gigi 12. Sedangkan pasangannya yaitu ring gear dengan jumlah gigi 37. Dalam penelitian efisiensi power engine truck kapasitas 30 ton ini dikondisikan dengan 3 variasi grade jalan ( 4%, 6% dan 8%) dalam 3 kali pengujian. Dari hasil pengujian tersebut diperoleh hasil bahwa gigi pinion dengan jumlah 11 memiliki efisiensi power engine 68,5 %, sedangkan untuk gigi pinion jumlah 12 memiliki efisiensi power engine 65,1 %. Jadi kesimpulannya gigi pinion dengan jumlah 11 lebih efisien 3,4 % dibanding dengan gigi pinion dengan jumlah 12. Sehingga gigi pinion jumlah 11 mampu menghemat tenaga engine dan menghemat konsumsi bahan bakar engine.

Abstract

A classifier plays a crucial role in the cement industry. It is in charge of separating coal that has been smoothened out and is ready to be burned although the coal is still rough after going through the grinding process. It takes a long time to burn coal that is not perfectly processed with a classifier. Therefore, it will reduce the amount of cement production, and the factories will release more energy. The closed arrangement and the number of components in the unit classifier requires a sophisticated method to detect damage that occurs early. Vibration analysis is a method that has been effectively employed in detecting the initial damage that occurs to the engine, especially the classifier. This study was aimed at detecting the location of the damage occurring in the classifier by using a vibration signal analysis and by measuring the magnitude of vibration and presenting it to the frequency domain (spectrum) form using Fast Fourier Transform. Engine condition assessment referred to ISO 10816-3 standard in velocity and displacement modes. Based on data spectrum analysis, the dominant damage laid in the unbalanced rotor. Spectrum characteristics of the damage appeared to be in the spectrum line worth 438.01 μm at a 3.5-Hz frequency (1X) radially. This analysis proved to be supported by the decrease in vibration value to 18.65 μm after balancing the Classifier rotor.

Abstract

Antena dual-frequency merupakan antena alternatif yang dapat digunakan untuk sistem radio yang bekerja pada dua kanal frekuensi yang berbeda jauh. Ketika dua frekuensi kerja terpisah dengan jarak yang cukup jauh, sebuah struktur patch dual-frequency dapat dirancang untuk menghindari penggunaan antena yang terpisah. Antena mikrostrip adalah salah satu solusi antena dual-frequency yang dapat dikembangkan, karena memiliki bentuk sederhana, unjuk kerja yang baik dan mudah dalam instalasinya.Jurnal ini membahas desain dari elemen antena dengan cylinder patch dengan slot byemax yang terobsesi dari film animasi. Patch mikrostrip antena dirancang dengan menggunakan perhitungan lebar patch (wp) dan panjang patch (lp). Desain dan simulasi antena mikrostrip membutuhkan software CST.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kinerja pelayanan (Service Performance) Frontliner  dan kepuasan nasabah terhadap loyalitas nasabah Pt.BCA, Tbk cabang Permata Buana. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sederhana dan penentuan jumlah sampel dihitung menggunakan rumus slovin. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner terbuka kepada 63 nasabah prioritas Pt.BCA, Tbk cabang Permata Buana  yang terpilih sebagai sampel kemudian data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear multiple. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase besarnya pengaruh variabel independen yaitu kinerja pelayanan frontliner serta kepuasan nasabah mampu menjelaskan sebesar 53% variasi variabel loyalitas nasabah. Sedangkan sisanya sebanyak  47 % adalah faktor-faktor lain yang tidak diteliti, seperti kenyamanan banking hall, antrian yang terlalu panjang, lokasi tempat yang tidak strategis, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

Nickel Oxide (NiO) have widely applied in industrial and automotive to forming oxide layer on the substrate due to it have high thermal stability and corrosion resistant. However, NiO was not directly diffused to the substrate via co-precipitation, spray-pyrolysis and sol-gel methods. Therefore, NiO-electroplating was performed in coating FeCrAl substrate by γ-Al2O3 powder. This method was conducted using various time of 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 minutes, a current of DC power supply is 1.28A and sulphamate type solution. From the data shows that smallest surface roughness (Ra) of NiO-electroplating (EL) samples located at EL 30 min sample for 0.69 µm. Ra of raw material was lower than coated samples due to it performed by coating activity on the substrate. It supported by coating thickness analysis that treated samples has a higher coating thickness up to 11.3 µm. EDS analysis observed some elements on coated and uncoated samples such as Carbon (C) of 4.62-20.67%, Oxygen (O) of 6.16-19.62%, Nickel (Ni) of 6.76-25.14%, Iron (Fe) of 23.96-48.53%, Sodium (Na) of 2.21-9.95%, Chromium (Cr) of 7.97-15.59% and Aluminum (Al) of 2.17-3.12%. Those elements promote to develop a protective oxide layer on FeCrAl at a high temperature of 1000 0C.

Abstract

Bila suatu mesin memiliki tingkat kegagalan yang tinggi, maka perlu dilakukan analisis mengenai  penyebab  –  penyebab  kegagalan  tersebut  hingga  ke  akar  permasalahannya sehingga dapat menentukan tindakan yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan kinerja suatu mesin. PT. Mutiara Hexagon merupakan sebuah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri pembuatan plastik  kemasan.  Dalam  line  pembuatan lembaran film  diperlukan mesin  CPP  (Cast  Poly Propylene Machine) dan mesin grinder dalam prosesnya. Pada penelitian yang dilakukan di PT. Mutiara Hexagon, terdapat beberapa kegagalan yang terjadi pada mesin grinder pada proses produksi plastic film, sehingga menyebabkan seluruh line pada divisi film mengalami downtime. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan analisa mengenai faktor penyebab kegagalan mesin grinder, penulis melakukan observasi secara langsung dan melihat proses produksi plastic film.Penulis menggunakan metode Failure Effect and Mode Analysis (FMEA) dan Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Penerapan analisis Failure Effect and  Mode Analysis (FMEA) dapat menentukan sejauh mana tingkat kegagalan terjadi. Dari hasil analisis FMEA kemudian dapat dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) guna mengetahui lebih lanjut penyebab-penyebab dasar suatu kegagalan.Dari hasil perhitungan nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN) pada tiap-tiap kegagalan yang terjadi  diantaranya yang  paling  tinggi  adalah kegagalan mesin  grinder rusak  dengan nilai kegagalannya mencapai 120. Kemudian dianalisa penyebab kegagalan tersebut dengan menggunakan metode FTA di dapatkan minimal cut sets yaitu: as grinder patah, katup hisap blower terbuka terlalu besar, kegagalan pada motor blower, baut pada dudukan pisau patah, pisau tumpul dan human error. Berdasarkan nilai probabilitas masing-masing cut set didapatkan nilai probabilitas kegagalan grinder periode 1 Juni 2012 -1 Juni 2013 mencapai 60%.

Abstract

PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk menggunakan strategi make to stock dalam memenuhi permintaan konsumen. Proses safety stock tehambat dikarenakan penempatan gudang dan penyimpanan bahan baku yang tidak teratur sehingga terjadi backtracking di lantai produksi. Untuk itu, perlu dilakukan perencanaan dan perancangan ulang tata letak fasilitas di lantai produksi untuk lebih efisien. Perlu dilakukan perencanaan dan pengaturan tata letak fasilitas mulai dari perencanaan produk, meliputi proses produksi, kebutuhan mesin, kebutuhan tenaga kerja, kebutuhan ruang sampai dengan analisis biaya menggunakan Activity Based Cost (ABC). Untuk melakukan perbaikan layout maka dibuat 2 alternatif layout yaitu alternatif layout 1 dengan menggunakan ARC dan ARD sedangkan alternatif layout 2 dengan menggunakan from to chart. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari perbandingan alternatif layout 1 dengan alternatif layout 2 maka didapat bahwa alyernatif layout 1  lebih tepat digunakan sebagai layout perbaikan dari layout PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk.

Abstract

Work fatigue is a problem that most often arises in the workplace and can affect work productivity. That problem also occurs at PT ASA Yogyakarta, many workers who complain of aches in the upper muscles and waist at work. Based on this, the research aims to design an ergonomic work system on the sewing production floor of PT. ASA Yogyakarta. The design of the work system is done to fix the problems done by workers so that it is expected to increase productivity. The method used is Kansei Engineering. The results of this study indicate that the proposed work system design meets the desires of workers with Stuart-Maxwell values testing marginal homogeneity of Z> 0.05. Work system designs made include sewing chairs and tables adjusted in size to worker anthropometry, approved backrests on chairs, lighting lamps replaced with LED lights, plug lamps on sewing machines, and plug bulkheads as sound dampers.
