Abstract

Snake fruit is a kind of fruit that can be harvested all year long, although theres a time in a year when the trees produces an extra ordinarily huge amount of fruits, or as local people say it panen raya, literally means great harvesting. The price for every kilo of snake fruits dropped drastically when panen raya comes. Salak pondoh (local name for Purwobinanguns snake fruit) are normally priced about Rp 8.000,00 - Rp 12.000,00 per kilo when they are not in season and about Rp 2.000,00 - Rp 5.000,00 when its time for panen raya. It means snake fruits farmers suffer a substantial amount of financial loss.

Abstract

The development industry in Bendo, Daleman, Tulung, Klaten District is flour processing from Arenga pinnata trees. Beside produces flour, this industry also produces biomass waste in abundant quantity. This waste is not fully utilized, so that gives the negative impact to local air and water quality. UGM students through Student Creativity Program took an initiative to utilize the biomass waste into briquettes together with the local community. The implementation of this activity conducted from February until July 2013. The activities including observation and identification of issues, public education, training briquettes production, society empowerment and the establishment of Small Medium Enterprises. The results show that the community supports the dissemination activities and ready to carry out the activities. The community has been able to make briquettes from beginning till end. However, the community has still not to make briquettes continuously and sustainability. This condition cause the plan to establishment small medium enterprise is delayed. Besides that, this activity has publication by online news and newspaper about utilization of biomass waste into briquettes. Therefore, the community need to empowerment intensively to make briquettes, reparation the briquettes tools in order to effective and efficiently, and then actuating to establishment the Small Medium Enterprises of briquettes. In the future, if this activity is sustainability, it can reduce the amount of biomass wastes in case to improve the air and water quality.

Abstract

Most of the palm trees grow in Totosan village, Trunks district, Kabupaten Sumenep, which covers 80 % of the total area. During this the community sell only palm in fresh form. When being analyzed, these economic activities are not effective and efficient. Community service programs through innovation and the sap of palm fruit processing is done to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit, independence and community kreativifas in processing power potential in the vicinity into Sam - Sam Sajen products as specific snacks of the island of Madura in order to increase incomes. PKM - M activities conducted from 17 February to 30 June 2013 and is divided into 4 main activities of observation, the introduction Sajen Sam - Sam, a variety of training and evaluation. Society has learned that Sam - Sam Sajen products to increase the added value of palm, both in terms of taste, aroma, color, price (2-3 fold increase profits) and product shelf life (4-5 months). The high business prospects can be attributed to the entrepreneurial spirit, independence and creativity of the people in the process surrounding the potential of becoming Sajen Sam - Sam marked with the scale greater community that are 90 cup jelly, jam bottles 20, 50 cup candied wet and dry and 45 cup nata per-day as well as the increasing number of people who started the business processing into products Sajen Sam - Sam, but from raw material bananas. Positive responses from the various elements of society in various areas of Madura by organoleptic test results, levels of increasing demand and support from the relevant Department to be an indicator that the processed products Sajen Sam - Sam accepted as typical products of the island of Madura snacks. Government and the general public need to socialize and develop the processing technology of fruit and palm sap into Sam - Sam Sajen products, mainly raw materials from a variety of other fruit into Sajen Sam - Sam is optimal to increase the value -added products, entrepreneurial spirit, independence, and creativity the local community.

Abstract

Dukuhwaluh village located in the district of Banyumas twins has a strategic location because it is close to educational facilities such as Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, and educational institutions at the high school, junior high, elementary and early childhood education. The number of educational facilities should be able to encourage the distribution of better science, so that science is not only channeled directly to the educational actors alone, but able to give a positive impact to the surrounding community. But in fact the people in the village Dukuhwaluh still less awareness about education. Number of children who drop out of school so that trigger high unemployment, crime often triggers. Therefore, we moved to this situation to give an effort to improve the moral crisis through the program "Dusun Education", so that people have the knowledge to create awareness behave and act according to the rules and norms prevailing in the community, through a simple but effective learning in educating citizens. Methods of implementation of the "Dusun Education" is to provide socialization, education about crime, the study of spirituality, entrepreneurship training, motivational training, and installation-signpost signpost motivation as moral guidelines. With the implementation of all activities "Hamlet Education" will benefit the community, which is increasing the quality of education, hygiene, and safety in the village Dukuhwaluh, increasing citizens awareness of the importance of pressing crime, declining crime occurred, as well as the activities of the youth who had started the vacuum again.

Abstract

Duck farming business prospects are very promising especially in Bogor and surrounding areas . It is because the demand for meat and duck eggs are quite large and and business development is still slightly in the area of Bogor. Kelompok Ternak Itik Keberlanjutan ( KTIK ) is one of the groups of cattle that can catch these opportunities, however, due to limited knowledge of farm management and support facilities make this difficult group to fulfill market need. The PKM program using case study methods, training, collaboration, mentoring and evaluation for 5 months. Usefulness of the program to create new job opportunities and improving the lives of farmers, and stimulate students to think of creative, innovative, and dynamic. Results obtained from the PKM program is increasing basic knowledge about management duck farming which characterized by decreasing the percentage of answers does not know and incresing answer know and very aware. Income of the group increased from Rp Rp 775.000/month to 2.857.600/month result of the average sales strategies. This will assist in the smooth and KTIK progress in the future in an effort of the duck. This program is in collaboration with Himpunan Mahasiswa Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak (HIMASITER ) to conduct training and supervision during the agreed cooperation agreement.

Abstract

The program aims to establish in elementary school 01 Bangkalan as the pilot project, utilizing the trash as robot, enhancing environmental care and creativity. Methodologically, it is initiated by observing the trash and designing the character of G-RoCs. In addition, this project are introduced, socialized, and motivated to the school stake holders. It was held from May to August 2013, 50 participants and conducted six times. Furthermore, the result were 5 characters; rokhi, robhi, alikha, trachi, and sanmist. This finding triggers 74% the student to love the environment better. From all characters, rokhi and sanmist are the most favorite characters.

Abstract

Global knowledge can make children have a big imagination about world. And they can have a dream that bigger and higher. But, there isn’t a tools that can help children learn more about global knowledge. Glopoli, the innovation of board game 4 dimension travel around the world to improve global knowledge for children is the solution in this paper. With play Glopoli, child can learn about so many countries in the world, the location of the state, the characteristic of state and after playing they dare to dream travel around the world. And then, they make changes from the smallest thing to realize their dream.

Abstract

Nowadays, the existence of juvenile delinquency in Junior high level or even Senior high is uncontrollable. Whether it’s brawl or even another way of naughtiness. they don’t realize that its can destruct their future. Juvenile delinquency happens because there is no right place to express their creativity. Science Club (KIR), is a extracurricular that exist in senior high level. This extracurricular is focus on science, whether its exact or even social science. Science Club (KIR) in Regional level is very needed because it can be right place for teenager to interact with another student from different school and also minimalize juvenile delinquency.

Abstract

The purpose of this is PKMM communities living in coastal areas in Palanro Barru to: (1) recognize that the family latrine construction secure against the tide, (2) to design, create the framework, floors, walls and roof of wooden models of family latrines and septic stage -tanks of masonry healthy and safe against the tide. The target audience of this program is people who live in coastal areas in Palanro, District Mallusetasi Barru. The method used in the delivery of education materials is a lecture, discussion and question and answer, demonstration method is used for training. The results obtained are: (1) Know the family latrine construction secure against the tide, (2) skilled designing, making framework, floors, walls and roof of wooden models of family latrines and septic-tanks stage of masonry healthy and safe against the tide.

Abstract

Bodag village is a secluded village in Madiun Regency, most of the people are still illiterate, they also can not speak Indonesian language, it occurs due to their lack of facilities in educational purpose and their awareness of the importance of education is still low. But the villagers of Bodag have potential in arts, especially the puppets and folk musical. Therefore, the idea of making ‘Wayang Lingua’ came up as media that is used to fight against illiteracy in Bodag village. ‘Wayang Lingua’ come from the word Wayang and Lingua, lingua means language. Here, the performance of Wayang Lingua used as a method, while people watching the performance, the indirectly learning how to use Indonesian language and how to speak the language itself, they can also learn how to write the letter of alphabet. That’s the value that is indirectly inserted from the performance of Wayang Lingua.
