Abstract

The professionalism of lecturers plays a major role in improving the quality of the learning process in higher education. Lecturers whose main tasks are in the field of teaching are required to have four competencies, academic, pedagogical competencies, personality competencies, and social competencies. One of the mastery learning competencies that the lecturer needs to have in order to create conducive conditions for the student learning process is the competency in mastering the teaching methodology. To measure the four competencies, the government held a lecturer certification program. Certification is the process of providing educator certificates for lecturers held by universities that have an educational staff procurement program that is accredited and determined by the Government, implemented objectively, transparently and accountable. For those who pass the certification, then they get a certificate as a professional lecturer in accordance with the subject matter taught.

Abstract

Islamic religion and character education is education that provides knowledge and shapes the attitudes, personality, and skills of students in practicing Islamic teachings. To test and assess students' understanding of Islamic religion and character education subjects, a test is held. This study aims to describe the characteristics of the final semester examination on Islamic religion and character education based subject on item response theory. This research was explorative descriptive research. The research subjects were class X students in State Vocational High School 1 Depok taken the final semester examination on subjects of Islamic religion and character education. The object of the research was the question device and all student answer sheets. Data analysis used the Rasch model with Program R in describing good grain characteristics based on the level of difficulty. The results of the analysis showed that from the level of difficulty, there were 26 items from 50 items that must be revised. So, tests of Islamic religion character education need to be evaluated to get a test that meets the requirements and can measure students' abilities.

Abstract

The method of developing self-image in the context of psychological education is character building based on the concept of Islamic education based on unity and discipline. Integrated Dayah Integrated Law in an effort to develop its image emphasizes the integration of values, namely knowledge transformation, skills development, and value planting. The research instrument used was an open interview aimed at obtaining multiple perspectives on motivation to participate in religious activities. This is based on efforts to improve the quality of religious teachers as a top priority. The results showed that the imagery of the Integrated Dayah Ustad can be realized in the life of the dayah because it is influenced by the internal and external factors of the family, namely the influence outside the home or social institutions that support the community. However, the existence of dayah leaders who remain in their hearts, namely educating and passing on their knowledge and modeling them to other religious teachers, will show that the image of the Integrated Dayah ustaz still exists in contemporary society.

Abstract

Research on the use of audio-visual media in schools is done because in schools there are teachers who do not use practice-based learning media even though the material is practicum. Audiovisual media students can see and hear directly the material that will be taught by the teacher. The development phase uses a 4D development model consisting of the stages of defining, designing, developing, and distributing. Audio visual-based learning media have fulfilled the validity criteria by obtaining an average score from all aspects of the validator's assessment, which is 3.65 which is in the very valid category after being revised twice, so it is feasible to use it based on expert judgment. Audio visual-based learning media has fulfilled the practical category because more than 80% of students give a positive response. The teacher's observation sheet also shows positive results.

Abstract

This study examines the character of educators and their influence on the character of students in the Banda Aceh Integrated Islamic School (SDIT). This study uses a simple regression statistical test with the formula Y = a + bX for 7 teachers and 58 students in grade 6 SDIT Nurul Ishlah Banda Aceh. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews based on the scale of spiritual intelligence and character scale of children. Data analysis using regression and correlation techniques. The results of the regression analysis showed a significant positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and the character of students. Similarly, the results of the analysis of the correlation of spiritual intelligence with the character of students showed a significant positive relationship. With the correlation value r = 0.38 and Y = 38.215 + 0.340x. So, the results of the study concluded that the more religious the character of the educator the better the character of the child. The findings of this study are different from the findings of Danah Zohar and Ian Marsal (2007) which state that educator's spirituality is not related to the religion and religious beliefs that one believes. However, research supports the findings of Muhammad Djarot Sensa (2004) who said that this spiritual relationship is religious.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of comic media in improving student learning of class V in learning Islamic Religious Education in SDN 1 Sukabumi Bandar Lampung. Comic media is media in cartoon form expressing character and presented in story form. Comic media is a simple media, informative, educative and can increase the value of learning. Based on preliminary observation, it is known that the learning outcomes of learners in the learning of Islamic religious education are still low. This is caused by the lack of use of comic media in learning for it as a follow-up effort then conducted research on the use of comic media to improve student learning outcomes. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. From the research conducted known that the use of comic media can improve learning outcomes of learners. This is based on learning outcomes obtained learners that at the time of pre-test obtained the number of classical mastery as much as 40% which increased to 71% in cycle I and increased again to 92% in cycle II.

Abstract

The main problem of the low quality of education is that the person most responsible for education (parents) has given full trust to the teacher in the school so that the purpose of this study is how partnership between parents and teachers is intertwined in improving the quality of education in the school. Based on the theory that parents have a big role to play in the quality of school education and their participation can improve performance, especially in the foundation stage of the education system. This research method is to use qualitative research with sampling methods for parents and teachers in their expectations and forms of participation in improving the quality of education. The results of this study indicate that the expectation of parents and teachers is hight to build partnership and the form of their involvement is to constantly improve communication between them and ready to give fully what teachers need for their children's education.

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 is the result of the developing education curriculum in Indonesia which was discharged on July 15, 2013 based on the philosophy foundation, the juridical foundation and empirical foundation. The special feature of curriculum 2013 is to demand the ability of teachers to be knowledgeable as much as possible, to master technology and information, to encourage students to have responsibility to the environment, to have interpersonal, between individuals, and critical thinking skills so that students become productive, creative, and innovative. The role of professional teachers as the main implementers of the curriculum 2013 should be developed in accordance with the curriculum requirements, such as: teachers must inspire / love their profession, experts in the field of science, mastering the way of interaction / communication, joining various professional organizations, able to use Various kinds of information technology, make innovations to the (materials, methods, media and tools) learning, and evaluate with three criteria of assessing the ability (cognitive, affective and Psychomotor) ability of each learner.

Abstract

Nowadays, the current development had a big impact on the education system. The era of industrial revolution 4.0 is changing the world through digital technology to enforce the field of education to be adjusted to avoid the outdated education system.  Similarly, Islamic higher education must upgrade to front the industrial revolution this time by administering the variety of efforts in improving the quality of education. One of them is redesigning the current KKNI curriculum to integrate some skills that must be mastered by graduates in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Abstract

The presence of Islamic education is expected to be an alternative solution to educational problems caused by the materialism education system. This present study aims at investigating education from an Islamic perspective and its role in fostering Islamic personality. This study employed a qualitative approach and literature review method. Based on the results of the discussion, there has been no agreed term on education based on Islamic perspective. However, in this case, the writer is more inclined to ta'dÄb as the term for education in Islam since it, based on its conceptual structure, has included the elements of science (ilm), teaching (ta'lÄ«m), and good care (tarbiyaħ). The purposes of Islamic education are to develop an Islamic personality and to master Islamic safaqah, science and technology, and adequate expertise. In Islam, teachers are regarded as a highly honored person, and students are encouraged to maintain good character and conduct (adab) when they interact with their teachers. In addition, Islamic curriculum and education materials are supposed to be in line with the Islamic Aqeedah (faith). In principle, Islamic education methods have their own characteristics and one of them is the Quranic education method. All media and facilities are permissible as long as it does not conflict with the Islamic Aqeedah (faith). The evaluation in Islamic education consists of measurements and assessments covering the aspects of aqliyah, qolbiyah, and amāliyah. Islamic education plays an important role in fostering Islamic personality since it is inseparable from the idea of Islamic education in order to foster an Islamic personality.
