Abstract

The fishing settlements in Karama Village have different characteristics from other settlements because this village still maintains Mandar culture in terms of physical and non-physical aspects such as weaving lipa 'saqbe activities, fisherman cultural rituals, sandeq races, and other cultural rituals that are carried out every year. But as it develops, its existence can experience a shift. This can happen when a community's economic activities affect other cultures, either on purpose or by accident. This study aims to find out how the cultural value of the community in Karama Village has changed, especially in terms of community economic activity. It will do this by looking at land-use change, figuring out how it has changed in Karama Village because of community economic activity and coming up with policy ideas for dealing with land-use change issues in Karama Village. The study results indicate that Karama Village's administration and land use have changed. For example, 74% of the buildings have switched from residential to commercial or industrial use. Eighteen percent of buildings got more prominent because of economic activity in the neighborhood. While 28% of buildings don't add to their building area, they use their public land for business. This change has big effects on the social and economic activities mentioned in the cultural element and related to the economy or people's ways of making a living.

Abstract

The work environment has a great influence on motivation, performance and individual willingness to stay in their workspace. It will affect individual intention to move to a better place according to them. This study aims to determine the relationship between discomfort factors on the working environment with the intention to move from a workspace based on the individual indoor worker perception. This study uses qualitative methods and a grounded theory approach with non-random sampling and online questionnaires for data collection. The results revealed that there were five main categories of discomfort in the workspace, that is thermal discomfort, poor interior design, unsupported working atmosphere, inadequate indoor facilities, and poor indoor lighting intensity. Among those five categories, thermal discomfort has become the thing that most influences an individual's desire to move from their workspace. It can be concluded that there are three groups of factors that represent work inconvenience, namely: factors that are very influential, tend to be influential and have less effect on individual inconvenience to their work environment

Abstract

The creative class is a group of people who utilize their creative thinking as a way to solve problems by creating innovations. The development of the creative class in the urban regions of the world results in a term called the creative city. Inside a creative city, the activity of the creative class establishes the needs for spaces that can accommodate their activities. Bandung, one of a creative city in Indonesia, has a lot of creative spaces. This research aims to map the types of creative spaces in Bandung, including their relationship with their contexts. This is achieved through the study of three cases, Kompleks Gudang Selatan, Lo.Ka.Si Coffee & Spaces, and Bandung Creative Hub. The mapping of creative spaces is done using the quantitative and qualitative scoring systems through observation, user interviews, and management interviews. Study about contexts is done using interviews and literature studies. The result of this research shows that those 3 cases, as creative spaces, are dominated by presentation space. This is supported by factors in their firm aspects. Moreover, it is found that the creative industry in Bandung is currently still oriented at presentation activities

Abstract

Ulama have taken an important role in the people of South Kalimantan, not only in terms of social cohesion but also in the forerunner of Muslim settlements. Taking the case in Sekumpul Martapura, This study tries to identify the development pattern of the Sekumpul settlement delineation due to KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani's da'wah activities, and identification of changes in the function of the area. The settlement delineation spatial-sprawl obtained by Google Earth and Geospatial Information Agency and supported by structured interviews with key informants using a snowball sampling technique. The results showed the expression of spatial delineation development in the Sekumpul area run naturally and adapted what looks like an octopus pattern with the road network as its dominant factor. In the 1980s until recently the Sekumpul area has experienced three times changes in its function, from the center of propagation, residential, into economic functions with its religious tourism concept. There were no specific guidelines found in the da'wah material regarding the technical aspects of spatial development. One important message conveyed by KH Muhammad Zaini Abdul Ghani was to uphold the rights of guests. This concept was then very tightly held by the residents of Sekumpul, which impacted on the maximum provision of facilities and infrastructure for the pilgrims.

Abstract

The facade has become a major element in the formation of visual characters in an Old Jakarta area. But to improve the visual quality of the historic area, which is full of conserved buildings, changing the facade is one thing that is not permitted. Public space is the main alternative in improving the visual quality of the Jakarta Old Town area. This study aims to identify the physical elements that have an influence on the visual formation of the Jakarta Old Town area. Data were collected using a questionnaire for 10 respondents. By using a regression test, the relationship between variables was tested to investigate the effect between variables, and analyzed with a post positivistic approach. The results show that public space that affects the visual quality of Jakarta's Old City are four elements with linear formation; including roads, streams and pedestrian paths; and one square element (shared space)
