Abstract

Stimulation program is a treatment by providing literacy packages containing guidebooks literacy activities, media literacy in children and socialization for mothers. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of the stimulation program to improve literacy skills in preschoolers. The proposed hypothesis that stimulation literacy program effective in improving early literacy skills in preschool children. This research method using a quasi-experimental design with the non-equivalent control group. Subjects were 30 children aged 3-5 years were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Based on the analysis by the non-parametric statistical test Mann-Whitney U, it was known that there were differences increase early literacy skills in the experimental group and control group. Qualitative analysis showed an increase in the literacy skills by observing changes in the measurement results. Results from this study are important as a new study in finding alternative methods of stimulating preschool children.Abstrak : Program stimulasi merupakan perlakuan dengan memberikan paket literasi berisi buku panduan aktivitas dan satu set media literasi pada anak serta sosialisasi untuk ibu. Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji efektivitas program stimulasi dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi pada anak prasekolah. Hipotesis yang diajukan yaituprogram stimulasi literasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi awal pada anak prasekolah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Subjek merupakan 30 anak usia 3-5 tahun yang terbagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan uji statistik non-parametrik Mann-Whitney U, diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan literasi awal pada kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol. Analisis kualitatif menunjukan peningkatan kemampuan literasi dengan mengamati perubahan hasil pengukuran. Hasil penelitian ini penting sebagai kajian baru dalam menemukan alternatif metode stimulasi anak prasekolah.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of Story Theme to improve moral theme understanding in primary school students. This program was designed to help students understand the storyline, moral lesson, and formulation of the moral story by creating new stories that have similar moral themes. The participants (N = 16) were the students in grade 5 elementary school and divided into two groups: 8 students in the experimental group and 8 students in the control group. This study used the experimental design of Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) and a measuring tool of Moral Theme Understanding. The result of the analysis showed that Theme Identification Program has improved the understanding of moral themes among elementary school students (z= -2,527 p= 0,012).Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Program Identifikasi Tema (PIT) dongeng dalam meningkatkan pemahaman tema moral pada siswa sekolah dasar. PIT dirancang untuk membantu anak memahami alur cerita, penalaran moral, dan perumusan pesan moral pada cerita dengan membuat cerita baru yang memiliki tema moral serupa. Partisipan (N=16) siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar. Terbagi dalam dua kelompok yaitu 8 siswa pada kelompok eksperimen dan 8 siswa pada kelompok kontrol. Desain pada penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen dengan desain Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pemahaman Tema Moral (PTM) yang disusun berdasarkan alat ukur Moral Theme Comprehention. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, diketahui bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima, artinyaprogram identifikasi tema (PIT) meningkatkan pemahaman tema moral (PTM) di sekolah dasar (z= -2,527 p= 0,012).

Abstract

The presence of behavioral problems in adolescents is influenced by their parents. This study aimed to examine the relationships between parental well-being and adolescents’ behavioral problems with authoritative parenting as a mediator variable. It was hypothesized that parental well-being influenced adolescents’ behavioral problems through authoritative parenting. Participants were 142 parents (fathers or mothers) of X and Y Junior High School students in Surabaya. They were asked to complete well-being scale (Pemberton Happiness Index) and parenting scale (Parenting Style and Dimension Questionnaire), and rate the levels of behavioral problems of their child using the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. Simple mediation analyses showed that authoritative parenting mediated parental well-being and adolescents’ behavioral problems. Parents with higher levels of well-being tended to employ an authoritative parenting style that resulted in lower levels of adolescents’ behavioral problems.Abstrak : Munculnya perilaku bermasalah pada remaja dipengaruhi oleh kondisi orang tua. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji hubungan antara well-being orang tua dan perilaku bermasalah pada remaja dengan pengasuhan otoritatif sebagai variabel mediator. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah well-being orang tua memengaruhi perilaku bermasalah melalui pengasuhan otoritatif. Partisipan penelitian sejumlah 142 orang tua (ayah atau ibu) dari siswa-siswi SMP X dan Y di Surabaya, untuk mengisi skala well-being (Pemberton Happiness Index) dan pengasuhan (Parenting Style and Dimension Questionnaire), serta menilai perilaku bermasalah pada anak dengan menggunakan Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire. Hasil analisis mediasi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa well-being orang tua memengaruhi perilaku bermasalah pada remaja melalui perantaraan pengasuhan otoritatif. Orang tua dengan well-being yang baik cenderung menerapkan pengasuhan otoritatif yang berdampak pada rendahnya perilaku bermasalah pada remaja

Abstract

This study aimed to describe how global climate change was perceived by teachers of elementary schools. The subjects were 111 teachers from 7 elementary schools in Yogyakarta City and Sleman district. The data were collected using open-ended questions (including perception about the weather, feeling evoked by global warming words and free responses related to global warming issues). The data were analyzed using the technique of qualitative and quantitative content analysis with Indigenous Psychology Approach. The result showed that only one teacher reported that there was no weather anomaly, while 110 teachers reported that they perceived weather anomaly. Of those who perceived weather anomaly mostly referred to natural conditions (including global climatic condition and environmental destruction) and human behavior as its causes. Responses about feeling as evoked by global warming word were classified into three categories, i.e. emotional, physical and irrelevant responses. Free responses about global warming were classified into four categories respectively from the highest frequency of responses: prevention (including the statement “must be prevented”, prevention behaviors and prevention efforts), states (including the weather states and feeling), causes (including technological advances and human behavior generally), and others. The research finding was discussed in the frame of environmental concern as a means of character education in elementary school.

Abstract

The effectiveness of change implementation in an organization depends on the level of individual readiness for change. Low level of individual readiness can cause resistance to change. This study was aimed to test the role of psychological capital (psyche) to individual readiness for change (IRFC) moderated by perceived organizational support (POS). Data were collected using the individual readiness for change scale, the psychological capital scale and the perceived organizational support scale. The subjects were 351 employees of Local Government in Yogyakarta that embrace the changing position (in passing). Moderated regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. Data analysis showed that both of psycap and POS play a role as predictors to IRFC (R 2 =0.350; p0.05). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran psychological capital terhadap kesiapan individu untuk berubah, dengan persepsi dukungan organisasi sebagai moderator. Metode pengambilan data dilakukan melalui survei dengan menyebarkan skala kesiapan individu untuk berubah, skala psychological capital, dan skala persepsi dukungan organisasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 351 pegawai yang tersebar di instansi Pemerintah Daerah DIY yang akan menghadapi perubahan (inpassing) jabatan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan moderated regression analysis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa psychological capital dan persepsi dukungan organisasi secara bersama-sama memiliki peranan dalam memprediksi kesiapan individu untuk berubah (R2=0.350;p0.05). Penelitian ini meneguhkan pentingnya peranan resiliensi sebagai salah satu dimensi psychological capital dalam meningkatkan kesiapan berubah individu dalam organisasi.

Abstract

The availability of quality human resources was important for the continuity excellence of the company and for gaining competitive advantage in the company. It could be obtained by operationalizing development or placement as part of HR management practices based on a potential review. This led to the use of psychological tests. The accuracy of psychological tests was required in potential review in order to predict future behavior. HR practitioners and psychologists showed appreciation and confidence in psychological tests. However, it had not been fully supported by empirical evidence regarding the accuracy of the tests for selecting employees. The purpose of this study was to figure out the extent of both tools in predicting emotion control. The finding from 159 subjects showed that the activity factor PAPI-Kostick and crown of tree predicted the emotion control.Abstrak : Untuk kesinambungan kinerja perusahaan dan capaian keuntungan kompetitif, diperlukan manajemen SDM potential review. Potential review memerlukan peran alat tes psikologi yang akurat untuk memprediksi perilaku. Apresiasi dan kepercayaan psikolog pada alat tes psikologi belum didukung oleh bukti-bukti empiris (evidance based) mengenai hal tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat sejauh mana PAPI-Kostick dan BAUM mampu memprediksi pengendalian emosi. Hasil penelitian pada 159 karyawan, menunjukkan faktor aktivitas PAPI-Kostick dan bagian mahkota pada BAUM dapat memprediksi pengendalian emosi. Sehingga efektivitas penggunaan kedua alat tes psikologi tersebut untuk mengases potensi pengendalian emosi karyawan.
