Abstract

The Effect of Coconut Water and Bap on Tea Plant Clone Gmb 7 After 2nd Centering. Tea plants as one of the leading commodities in Indonesia demanding high productivity. Clone GMB 7 and maintenance such as the formation of the area of plucking by 1st centering and 2nd centering on the immature plant can be done to improve the productivity of tea. Centering that plays a role in stimulating bud formation can be enhanced by the addition of Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) derived from natural ingredients such as coconut water and synthetic ingredients such as Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP). This research was conducted to determine the effect of BAP concentration and coconut water on tea plants after the 2nd centering. The research was conducted from July 2017 to September 2017 at Ciparanje Field Station, Padjadjaran University. The experimental design used was Randomized Block Design with 7 treatments repeated 4 times. The treatment used were: control (without PGR); 25% coconut water; 50% coconut water; 75% coconut water; 60 ppm BAP; 90 ppm BAP; and 120 ppm BAP. The best result are shown by 50% coconut water on the ratio of leaves number, the ratio of bud number, and the bud length.

Abstract

Citrus (Citrus nobilis L.) Propagation Through Culture In Vitro Using Seed From Infected Plants Of Citrus Vein Phloem Degeneration (CVPD) Disease. The sample was taken in Belancan Village, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, and invitro culture was conducted in UPT. Genetics Resource and Molecular Biology Laboratory in February to June 2018. This research purposes were to get the new citrus plant from citrus seed infected of CVPD disease explants with culture in vitro and found the presence of the bacterium Liberobacter asiaticus in results of citrus plants culture in vitro. The sampling method is using plants appearance. Obtained sample 1 is a plant that shows severe symptoms of CVPD disease and sample 2 plants that show no symptoms of CVPD disease. Seed Sample is cultured with MS0 medium for 8 WAP then proceed to acclimatization. The results of this research showed that the seed explants from both samples were able to grow well and did not have the characteristic of CVPD disease, but explant seed sample 2 in vitro culture result showed that the bacterial DNA bacterium Liberobacter asiaticus pathogen CVPD disease does exist in length 1160bp, so it cannot be expected to produce CVPD-free crops.

Abstract

Imature Development and Parasitization Behavior of Hemiptarsenus varicornis (Girault) (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) as a Larval Ectoparasitoid of Liriomyza sativae (Blanchard) (Diptera: Agromyzidae). Liriomyza is one of the important pests that attacking vegetable plants in Indonesia. Parasitoid which is commonly associated with Liriomyza is Hemiptarsenus varicornis. The study was conducted at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University and at the Integrated Pest Management Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, Denpasar. The research starts from February to September 2018. The purpose of this study was to determine the development and parasitization behavior of the pre-adult phase of H. variconis on L. sativae. The development of the parasitoid pre-adult phase was observed in the form of egg, larvae, pupa and imago stages. Observation of pre-adult phase parasitization behavior was carried out by tearing the leaves of plants that had been infested and observed under a binocular microscope. The result indicated that the time required for the development of pre-adult phase H.varicornis was nine days at an average temperature of 28oC, with egg stage (24 hours), larval stage (48 hours) and the pupa stage (120 hours). The parasitization behavior of the immature parasitoid H. varicornis includes three stages, namely the search for hosts, finding the host and receiving the host and directly infusing the host's body fluids, then going away from the host's destroyed body. Host search behavior occurs when new larvae appear, while the process of sucking in body fluids occurs when the instar-1 larvae before the instar-2 and away from the host occur before parasitoid larvae enter the pupa phase.

Abstract

Study of Assorted Fermentation Methods Conducted by Local Farmers on the Quality of VCocoa Beans (Theobroma Cacao L.). Various fermentation methods have been done by local farmers, however there has been no report on the quality of cocoa beans from those methods. This study aims were to identify various ways of cocoa beans fermentation conducted by local farmers; to compare between quality of fermented beans produced by local farmers and suggested quality of fermented beans; and o obtain a simple fermentation method which resulted in good quality beans and suitable practice for local farmers. The research wasconducted in Tabanan Regency, Province of Bali through field survey with observation and interview method, and supported with literature study. According to field observation and analysis of fermented cocoa beans taken from the local farmers, it can be concluded that most of local farmers did not fermented their kakao seeds. Thus, the fermentation done by utilizing a plastic sack, a bamboo basket or a wooden box lined and covered with banana leaves. The research also found that implementing similar fermentation methods to the seed did not always resulting similar quality of cocoa beans. Finally, the simplest method for local farmers to ferment the cocoa seed was the fermentation by utilizing basket lined and covered with banana leaves with at least 90kg wet beans.

Abstract

The Application of High Puddle and Organic Fertilizer on Rice Yield Ciherang Variety. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the staple vital food of Indonesian people. National rice production has not been able to meet the needs of the population, despite many efforts such as the use of improved varieties, fertilization, the use of agricultural machinery, and the use of pesticides. This study aimed to determine the effect of water level and organic fertilizers on crop yields of rice. This experiment used randomized block design in a simple treatment, namely the combination of the water level and the dose of organic fertilizer. This research using analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine the effect of treatment on the variables tested. If treatment significant it will be followed by LSD test 5%. The results showed that the treatment of combination of water level and organic fertilizers provide a very real effect on the growth and yield of rice (Harvest dry grain yield ha-1). Harvest dry grain yield ha-1 obtained at the highest AMP2 treatment, namely without flooding water and organic fertilizers and 6 t ha-1 at 10.92 t ha -1 were significantly higher 70.09 % compared to the treatment of farmers. Based on the research results, it can be recommended that the application of water-saving cultivation of organic fertilizer with a dose of 6 t ha -1 needs to be done to improve rice yields.
