Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of infrastructure on the performance teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Matan Hilir Utara Ketapang district. The approach in this research uses quantitative. This type of research is a correlation. data collection using a questionnaire. The population in this study were all teachers, administrative staff and students, and principals in SMA Negeri 1 MHU Ketapang district. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people. The research findings show that the comparison of the value of t_count t_table (3.323 2.048), which shows the positive influence of school infrastructure on the performance of teachers in SMA Negeri 1 Matan Hilir Utara Ketapang district.Keywords: Means of Prasana, Teacher Performance

Abstract

The level of student satisfaction with the process of organizing education has a very important role in supporting the existence of an institution. This study aims to describe the level of satisfaction of SPs students. UHAMKA for the implementation of education that takes place at the Graduate School. UHAMKA. The satisfaction aspects measured include satisfaction with the leadership of the leadership of the institution and study program, teaching from lecturers, academic services from the teaching staff, procurement of learning facilities and infrastructure, as well as the impact of studies at UHAMKA on personal or career development prospects. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach with survey methods. The media survey using the Google form provided to a number of respondents, namely 191 graduates for the 2018/2019 academic year. The results showed that the level of satisfaction of SPs students. UHAMKA is very high (very satisfying), which is 88.03. The results of this study can be used as a foundation for evaluations and efforts for continuous improvement for managers.

Abstract

The success of an educational institution organization integrates the performance of each individual conducting organizational activity. Guidance and counseling are part of the activities that are running in the educational institutions. Legally there are some regulations governing workload assignments for school counselors, but in reality the many divisions of assignments given to school counselors are disproportionate. Research aims to present data and factual analysis of workload assignment for school counselors in Palembang. The results showed that 70% of school counsellors gained equal 24-hour students ' equivalence to the national regulation.  But in the provision of assignments, school counselors are much busy with administrative affairs. Therefore, coordination and consultation functions between school counselors, school principals, and supervisors need to be addressed in order to provide the main tasks and functions of school counselors more optimally in serving the students and in accordance with the central government policy contained in the Ministry regulations. Keywords: workload, school counselor

Abstract

The purposes of this study are: 1) describe the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from a financial perspective, 2) describe the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from a customer perspective, 3) describe the performance of the SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from an internal business perspective , and 4) describe the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from the perspective of learning and growth. This research is quantitative descriptive research type. Research data obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research sample was taken from the population of teachers and parents/guardians of students as many as 20 teachers and 130 parents/students guardians. The results showed that 1) the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on Balanced Scorecard approach from a financial perspective by 60% in the good category, 2) the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from the customer perspective by 80% in the good category, 3) the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from an internal business perspective by 82% in the excellent category, 4) the performance of SDIT Lentera Hati based on the Balanced Scorecard approach from a learning and growth perspective by 80% in the good category.

Abstract

Song is one of English material in 21st century curriculum at senior high school. To produce memorable and beautiful meaning, song lyrics comprise language variation, figurative language, idioms, and pragmatics. However, students will face problems in translating and comprehending the meaning of the song lyric. Therefore, to figure out the message and the intended meaning from the song lyrics, the students should understand techniques and strategies in translation. Regarding with the statements, the aims of this study are to find out kinds of difficulty faced by the students, to analyze kinds of translation technique used by the students and strategies to overcome their difficulties in translating English song.  In conducting the research, the writer used descriptive qualitative research based on Creswell theory. The result of the research showed that the students faced difficulties in determining figurative language, idiom, linguistics factors grammatical, referential, connotative, and contextual meaning in song lyric. There are six translation techniques used by the students: literal translation, reduction, modulation, amplification, linguistic compression, and transposition. There are several strategies can be used to help students in translating variation of meaning in English song: shifting shape, shape in meaning, adaptation, contextual matching and matching recorded. Learning techniques of translation and their strategies are useful for receiving better understanding in language enhancement. In addition, to translate the source into target language, students will also have a good comprehension of the song?s content.

Abstract

Problems in communication may happen not only with EFL learners but also  with  EFL teachers.  Those problems happen wherefore the teachers inadequate of communicative competence. When teachers face difficulties in finishing their communication, and they  initiate to use  such gesture, pausing their  words in making their communication run smoothly, it means they use communicative strategies. This study aimed to find out the types of CSs used by the English teacher during the teaching process at the Aviation class and to describe CSs which  are dominantly used by the English teacher. By implementing Celce-Murcia?s taxonomy, the data was classified into five strategies and eleven sub-strategies. A qualitative research was used as the method in this study and the data was collected by doing observation and video recording the teacher in Cruise ship and Aviation Course, Central Java. The result showed that  five strategies were used by the English teacher included eleven sub-type strategies that appeared during teaching process. Based on the result, Filler (32,8%) was the highest number of strategies used by the teacher in the classroom. Meanwhile the least number of strategies used was retrieval (0,9%) and clarification request (0,9%). Thus, by conducting this study, the teacher was expected to use the best strategies to solve the communication problems during teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Listening is the skill to understand and identify what the speaker says. In listening, students should sensibly in hearing the information. This paper aims to describe the difficulties in listening in creating subtitling and problems faced in creating subtitle use Aegisub. The population of this research was twenty Indonesian EFL learners studying at an Islamic university in Central Java, Indonesia. The method used in this paper was a qualitative method. In addition, the research data were collected by observation, interview and document analysis. This research found three problems in listening and three problems in using Aegisub. The result shows the difficulties in listening when creating subtitle and problems in using Aegisub as they applied Aegisub.Keywords: Listening, Subtitling, Aegisub

Abstract

The aim of this research is analysis character building values that can be found in English textbook in Senior High School. This is a descriptive qualitative research which takes a document as the method of collecting data. The data of this research are  reading texts  and dialog in English textbook Bahasa Inggris for Grade X Senior High School that represent eighteen character building values that was described by Kemendiknas 2010. The source of data is English textbook entitled Bahasa Inggris for grade X Senior High School. This research uses model of data analysis by Miles and Hubberman includes data reduction, data display and drawing data. While to get the validity of data analysis, the research uses multiple theories. The result shows that the book contains eighteen character building that was described by Kemendiknas, and some other characters appear in the selected textbook such as gratitude, humble, confidence, cooperative, respect, healthy life style, courage and optimist.

Abstract

The process of  learning and teaching translation still becomes something difficult for teachers and students in Indonesia. Currently the method used by teachers for teaching translation is still traditional method. So that, students feel bored while learning translation because they get the same instruction every time. Thus, it needs to implement a modern method for teaching translation to engage and motivate students in learning translation. The aim of the research is to find out the effective and appropriate method for teaching translation of senior school students. In addition, researcher also wants to know the effectiveness of Online Media method for teaching translation. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The collecting data was conducted by observing  the students at Senior School during Translation teaching. This action research was the process of learning and community empowerment. Based on the observation, Indonesia teacher tends to use traditional method for teaching translation. Teaching translation by using online media gives something positive to students. Students become more active after learning with on-line media than traditional method.Teaching approach used by the teacher changed from teacher centered to student centered, the lesson materials were more practical given and learned in the Online Media Features class than in the traditional class. The teaching method in translation improved significantly in the Online Media Features class because all were enhanced with interactive web technology. In addition, in the Online Media Features class the students and teacher engaged in active learning and did problem solving together. Keywords: Translation, Translation teaching method, traditional method, Online media method

Abstract

Based on some research, mind mapping proven effective to use in the class, but the use of mind mapping still rarely used in the class during pandemic. The purpose of this article is 1) to analyze of making mind mapping; 2) to describe the using of mind mapping during this pandemic; and 3) to analyze the impact of using mind mapping in class. This article uses literature study. The validity of this data is by using some study from another research with an extension time. Data comparation is used as data analysis technique in this article. The conclusion in this article are while making mind mapping, requires some laws so that benefit would achieved optimally; using mind mapping with outlines and good instruction about material is a good option during pandemic; using of mind mapping is proven effective to make student easier to know about the material and it will improve their critical thinking skills.
