Abstract

ABSTRACT Biological Fertilizer Usage Effectiveness (Enterobacter cloacae) to Increase Yield and Quality of Rice Seeds Varieties Cigeulis The purposes of this research were to find out the influence of biological fertilizer Egary which contains rhizobacteria Enterobacter cloacae related to the crop of Cigeulis rice, as well as to test the effectiveness of biological fertilizer to reduce the utilization of chemical fertilizer, and to obtain the quality of the seed production. The resullt indicated that the augmentation of biological fertilizer plus chemical fertilizer phonska and urea at 100 kg/ha each (Py) increased the production of the rice crop about 1.8 tons/ha or increased about 33.93% and the result of biological fertilizer plus chemical fertilizer phonska and urea at 200 kg/ha each (Pz) increased about 0.8 tons/ha or about 33.13% if compared with control. The research of Py treatment with biological fertilizer plus chemical fertilizer phonska and urea at 100 kg/ha each, produced Cigeulis rice crop variety for 6.3 tons/ha and improved the quality of the seeds both physical and physiological parameters, produced 1000 grain weight of seeds, germination and vigor highest power savings and has better endurance than Pz and control (30.28 g, 89.11%, and 85.89%, respectively). Abstract

ABSTRACT The Epidemic of Anthracnose Disease in the Lemon [Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle] at Kertelangu Village, East Denpasar District           Anthracnose disease on lemon  was a newly discovered disease in Kertalangu Village, East Denpasar. Status of the disease unknown,. and lemon plants grown less well maintained and neglected, almost all plants showing symptoms of disease. Planting conditions like this it's possible anthracnose disease that can destroy rapidly growing cultivation of lemon. The research was conducted from April to June 2015 in the village of Kertalangu, district East Denpasar, Bali.           The results showed that the leaf spot disease found on lemon was anthracnose that caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Disease incidence of anthracnose was 26.16 – 35.00%, and disease severity was 17.38 – 24.10%, that is mean relatively mild disease. The infection of rate was  0.00128 – 0.0162 per leaf per day, its mean development of the disease was slowly.   Keywords: Anthracnose, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, inhibiting ability, prevalence, endophytic and exophytic.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Diversity of Fruit Flies and Parasitization Level of Parasitoid Associated with Plants Fruits in Lautem District, Timor Leste.           Research on diversity of fruit flies  and parasitization level of parasitoid   associated with Plants Fruit was done from November 19, 2014 up to Februari 2, 2015 in Lautem district, Timor Leste. The objectives of this research are to determine of diversity of fruit flies, percentage of damage, and parasitization level of parasitoid associated with fruits tree in Lautem District. The research using survey method and traps  made from plastic bottle filled chemical atraktan form Methyl eugenol, Cue-lure, and Dorsal lure installed in five sub District in Lautem District. The purpose of survey methods were to account percentage of damage fruit and parasitization level of parasitoids, while istaled traps aimed to know diversity of fruit plies, dominance, and similarity index.  The results of research indicated  that was pound 9 species of fruit flies there were Bactrocera dorsalis (Hendel), B. umbrosa (Fabricius), B. caudata (Fabricius), B. complicata  (White), B. cucurbitae (Coquillett), Dacus longicornis (Wiedemann), B. exornata (Hering) B. nigrotibialis (Perkins), B. albistrigata (de Meijere). Species diversity of fruit flies in Lautem district was low with diversity index < 1.5. The dominant species of fruit   was B. dorsalis (Hendel). Similarity index of fruit flies in each sub-district in Lautem were 50-88%.  Demage percentage of fruit fly on manggo (30%) higher than watermelon (24%), and rose apple (11%).  Parasitization level of parasitoids associated with fruit flies  in Lautem was low (28%). Species of parasitoids were found in Lautem district was Diachasmimorpha longicaudata (Insect: Hymenoptera: Braconidae). Keywords:  Fruits, Fruit Flies, and parasitoids.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Study of Soil Degradation at Agricultural Land In South Denpasar Sub-District Agricultural soil degradation is an important issue all over the world. This issue had gained attention by Indonesian Government as indicated by the released of Indonesian Government Regulation with serial Number of 150 on 2000 for prevention of agricultural soil degradation. Based on the regulation, a study was carried out to evaluate soil degradation on agricultural field of South Denpasar Sub-District on February to July 2014. Observation area was selected based on work map that was developed by overlaying thematic maps, which were including landuse, soil and topography maps. The sampling locations were chosen according to Stratified Purposive Sampling method. The selected area were including rice fields that both located on Entisols and Inceptisols as well as dryland on Entisols that all of them laid down on slopeness ranging on 0-3%. The results of the study showed that agricultural field in South Denpasar Sub-District were potentially degraded on a range of very low – low.  Paddy field had potential degraded area that grouped to very low degraded, while dryland potentially low degraded. According to the matching and score methods based on the selected soil properties had been quantified, 26,48% of agricultural field in the research area considered to be low degraded with coverage area was 317,86 Ha of paddy field and another 73,52% (880 Ha of paddy field and 2,57 Ha of dryland) was undegraded. This findings was contradicted to their potential degradation. The soil degradation in paddy fields were indicated either by the soil permeability and electrical conductivity that were higher than that has allowed according to Indonesian Government Regulation. Abstract

ABSTRACT Quality Test of Some Compost Fertilizer that circulate in Denpasar City This research to aims knowing the quality physical and chemical properties of 10 compost that meets several criteria according to SNI 19-7003-2004. This research starts from the sampling of fertilizers that have been circulate in the market. This research consists of several stages of laboratory analysis with that assessment parameter analysis results include water content, pH, N-total (method Kjeldhal), P2O5 and K2O total (extract method HCL 25%), C-organic (Walkley and Black method), and C/N ratio. Based on the results of physical and chemical quality test of the parameters which is conducted compost fertilizer, there are only 2 organic fertilizer most suitable from 10 types of fertilizers, namely fertilizer Bio-extrrim Trubus and  Putri Liman Simantri 096 Blahbatuh, Gianyar has met the several criteria of compost according to SNI 19-7030-2004. The next compost fertilizer that does not comply with some of the SNI, namely Petrokimia Gresik, Good Compost Trubus, Bioorganic Simantri 027 Kelating, Kerambitan, Tabanan, Sapi Trubus, Bintang Tani Marga, Tabanan, Kambing Trubus, Higher For Grow and Agung Singapadu Gianyar, each fertilizer on average had higher levels of C-organic, C/N ratio, organic matter, which is not comply to the  SNI 19-7030-2004. Abstract

ABSTRACT Identification of Fruit Flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) and It’s Damage Against to Some Lines and Varieties of Chili Plants (Capsicum annum L.) In  Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency The research was conducted in the Field and in the Laboratory. Studies conducted in the laboratory of integrated pest management Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University, concerning identification of fruit fly in the laboratory of Agricultural Quarantine Ist Class, Denpasar. The field research was conducted in the Pancasari village, Sukasada district, Buleleng regency, which was implemented in September to December 2014. The purpose of this study to determine the species of fruit flies that damage some lines and varieties of chili plants tested, to determine the percentage of fruit fly damage in some lines and varieties of chili plants, and to determine the yield of the each lines and varieties of chili plants were tested. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with eighteen treatments and three replications. The results show  that the damage percentage of the highest fruit fly pest was found in line AVPP 1003-B with the percentage of 66.49%, while the  lowest line percentage was found in Kencana variety with a percentage of 23.82%. The fruit fly species found in the test lines and  varieties of chili plants (Capsicum annum L.) is Bactrocera carambolae and B. papayae. The highest yields are found in line AVPP 0207 with an average yields of 202.99 grams / plant and the lowest was found in AVPP lines 0906 with an average of 66.64 grams  / plants.   Keywords: chili, the percentage of damage, Bactrocera carambolae, Bactrocera papayae.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Analysis of Local Mikroorganisme Solution Quality Based on Banana Weevil The experiment was conducted at the Soil Science and Environmental Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University in November 2014 until January 2015. The purpose of  this research was to determine the effects of  concentration and the length of banana weevil fermentation to the quality of local microorganism solution. The design of this research used a randomized group design with factorial pattern. The first factor was the banana weevil concentration which are consisted of of 3 levels such as 100 g, 200 g, and 300 g. The second factor was the length of fermentation, consisted of two, four and six weeks. Each treatment was repeated three times, so there were 27 trial in total. The observed parameters were : the nature of biological, physical and chemical solution of local microorganism. Physical characteristics including  color and odor, biological properties by counting the total population of bacteria. Chemical properties including pH level, content of organic C, total-N, available-P and C/N ratio. The result of this research showed that the concentration amont and the length of fermentation had no significant effect on the total population of bacteria, pH, content of organic C, total-N, available-P and C/N ratio to the quality of local microorganisms solution. Abstract

ABSTRACT Effectiveness of Technique Extraction Test and Dry Heat Treatment to Seed Health of Chili Pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). Chili (Capsicum frutescens L.) is one of the horticultural crops of the Solanaceae family that has a high economic value. Seed healty problems is one of the chili pepperproduction constraints. Chili seeds used by farmers mostly contaminated by seed-borne diseases such as viruses. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of seed extraction techniques and Dry Heat Treatment (DHT) in producing healthy red pepper seeds in a seed source trials of healthy plants and diseased plants. The design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors. The first factor was the extraction technique which consisted of three levels ie extraction technique using 2% HCl, extraction techniques using quicklime and extraction techniques using water. The second factor was DHT with 2 levels ie DHT and without DHT (NDHT). The results of this research showed that DHT treatment was effective in producing healthy chili pepper seedlings with healtinese 100%, while seed extraction techniques has not been effective to produce healthy red pepper seeds with a percentage of less than 90%. Interaction between extraction techniques and DHT on trial seed originating from sick plants showed real influence. Keywords: chili pepper, extraction techniques, Dry Heat Treatment, healthy seed

Abstract

ABSTRACT Effect of Various Timing on Bud Cutting as Cuttings Material and Dosage of Rootone F on the Growth of Vanilla Short-Cutting (Vanilla planifolia Andrews) Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia Andrews) can generally be propagated by seed (generative) and vegetative by cuttings. As the multiplication by seed takes longer to flowering, thus the vanilla propagation for commercial purpose is done by cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect of time on bud cutting as cuttings material and dosage of Rootone F as well as its interactions on the growth of vanilla short-cuttings. This study uses two factors factorial design, i.e.: time on bud cutting as cuttings material and dosage of Rootone F. The result of the research showed an interaction between time on bud cutting as cuttings material and dosage of Rootone F provides a very significant effect on the variable of oven dried stems shoots weight, and showed a significant effect on the variable total oven dry weight; while other variables showed no significant effect. Treatment of time on bud cutting as cuttings material (P) showed highly significant effect on the variable of time to sprout, while the other variables showed no significant effect. Dosage of Rootone F (D) showed no significant effect on all variables. The interaction of time on bud cutting as cuttings material 8 days before planting with Rootone F dose of 100 mg / 1 ml of water provides a better growth of vanilla short-cuttings with the highest total oven dry weight is 1,12 grams and has increased 89.83% compared to the bud cut when the cuttings is about to be planted and Rootone F dose of 0 mg / 0 ml of water. Abstract

ABSTRACT Effectiveness of Technique Extraction Test and Dry Heat Treatment to Seed Health of Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.). Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) is one of horticultural commodities with many benefit and still requires serious treatment for improvement of productivity.Seed healthy is one of the tomato productivitydeterminer. Tomato seeds used by farmers mostly contaminated by seed-borne viruses.This research aims to determine the effectiveness of extraction technique and dry heat treatment on the health of tomato seedlings. Research consists of five activities: 1. Fruit prepation for seed; 2. Extraction of seeds; 3. Drying; 4. Dry heat tratment, 5. Seed quality testing; and 6. Data analisys. This research is completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatment combinations and each combination is repeated four times. The results showed extraction treatment with soaking 2% HCl, calcium oxide, and water is not effective to produce healthy tomato seedlings, while Dry Heat Treatment effective to produce healthy tomato seedlings. Extraction and treatment of Dry Heat Treatment show interaction on seed health variables were real derived from diseased plants. Keywords: tomato, extraction techniques, dry heat,seedlings healthy
