Abstract

This study aims to examine the mathematical communication skills of students whose learning using Problem Based Learning approach GeoGebra assisted compared with using ordinary learning. This research is using the experimental method. Population in this research is a student of class X SMAN 1 Parongpong West Bandung academic year 2017/2018 with a sample of research is a student of class X SMAN 1 Parongpong consisting of class X Mia 1 as control class and X Mia 4 as experiment class is taken at random. The instrument used in this research is a test of mathematical communication ability in the form of problem description as much as 8 questions, as well as Self Confidence scale. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistic 1.7 for windows program. From this research, the following results are obtained: (1) Improvement of mathematical communication ability of students whose mathematical learning using geographic assisted PBL approach is better than using ordinary learning. Abstract

In the context of "Internet +", using information and intelligence in the education field has become an inevitable trend now. Based on Six-Questions cognitive theory, taking monotonic functions as an example, designing a mathematic learning media using hawgent to solve problems such as “boredom” and “basic understanding” in they present teaching. The goal is to explore the information technology as it can be a reference to optimizing the classroom teaching.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts possessed by prospective elementary school teacher students. This study aims to see the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical understanding abilities that use Microsoft Excel-based VBA teaching materials with those using conventional learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. This study's population were all second-semester elementary school teacher candidates in one private university in West Java, Indonesia. The sample in this study was 70 prospective 2nd-grade elementary school teacher candidates. The instrument used in this study was a test of understanding mathematical concepts. The results showed: 1) learning using VBA Microsoft Excel as a teaching material was able to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts; 2) learning using Microsoft Excel VBA as teaching material is better than conventional learning; and 3) students can be enthusiastic, active and motivated in learning mathematics with VBA Microsoft Excel.

Abstract

Trigonometry is one of the basic of mathematics that is taught in high school. Students always thinks that trigonometry is a hard theory and this research aims to overcome the students’ problems by using VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory. This research will use the experiment method with a pre-test and post-test to see the difference on the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media based on the 6-question cognitive theory and the one that uses traditional teaching method. The result of this research is that there is a difference and an increase in the students’ mathematics understanding ability that uses VBA learning media base on the 6-question cognitive theory compared to the students who uses traditional teaching method.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the lack of mathematical creative thinking abilities of elementary school students in Cimahi, Indonesia. This lack of mathematical creative thinking abilities is caused by an incorrect learning process. The teacher does not direct students to think creatively. In fact students still depend a lot on what is explained by the teacher in the class. The learning process with problem-based learning that is aided by hawgent dynamic mathematic software can direct students to think creatively. The population in this study were all elementary school students in Cimahi city. The samples were the students of elementary school Cimahi class 3A and 3B. The instrument in this study is descriptive test of students creative thinking abilities. This instrument was used to obtain data about students' creative thinking abilities with problem-based learning approach using hawgent dynamic mathematic software and by conventional learning. The data processed in this study was from the post-test score. These scores from both of the experimental class group and the control class group. Then, the data was processed by using SPSS 19.0 and Microsoft Excel. The data was analyzed using t-test statistic. The final result of this study concluded the achievement and improvement of creative thinking abilities of students whose learning problem-based approach using hawgent dynamic mathematic software.

Abstract

The effective teaching design of mathematics should be designed carefully by teachers according to the situation of students' learning and the analysis of teaching materials. Its teaching design should run through the origin and development of knowledge generation, and reasonably ensure the continuity and integrity of teaching. Based on the theory of "6-Question Cognitive Theory", This research using development method with steps to make comparisons between the this paper attempts to make a comparison between the "equal ratio sequence" and the "equal ratio sequence". Results in this study show that The teaching design of "6-Question Cognitive Theory" knowledge embodies the coherence, completeness and operability of the teaching design from six aspects: where the mathematical knowledge comes from, the essence of the knowledge, the connection and difference between the new knowledge and the old knowledge, the transformation of the knowledge, how to apply the knowledge and the process of reflecting the knowledge generation, so as to provide a theoretical and practical reference for the teaching design of high school mathematics Test

Abstract

Mathematics’ National examination is conducted annually in all countries. Including Indonesia and China. but there are only a few researchers who make observations about the difficulty of the national exams in each country. There is not even a paper comparing the national exams in 2 countries. So in this study, This article compares the comprehensive difficulty of the Nanjing and Nanning test mathematics’ National examination questions from the five difficulty factors of background factors, cognitive level, reasoning ability, calculation level, and knowledge content. The method in this research is a mix method, using qualitative and quantitative for maximum data analysis results. The results show that, in terms of background factors, the test questions of Nanning paper The comprehensive difficulty is higher than that of the Nanjing paper. In the other four factors, the comprehensive difficulty of the Nanjing paper is slightly higher than that of the Nanning paper. The comprehensive difficulty coefficient of the two sets of test papers is slightly larger in terms of the calculation level and the cognitive level. The set of test papers basically maintains a balance of difficulty in the five factors. Based on the results of the research.

Abstract

Now, the whole world is facing the coronavirus pandemic. In the meantime, students in China are required to do social distancing and not go to school. This coronavirus pandemic resulted in the use of online learning to teach students. In this research, we will get to know the students’ learning attitude towards online learning during the coronavirus pandemic. The sample population for this research are students in West Java, Indonesia. The data will be collected by using questionnaires and there was a total of 16 questionnaires that is collected for this research. The result of this research shows that online learning during this coronavirus pandemic is not very effective. Also, the students’ learning interest towards online learning is also very low. Based on the interview done on students and teachers, most of them stated that there are various factors that can affect online learning in China such as learning environment, internet and etc. The suggestion that is given in this research is that aside from online classes, teachers can also use video learning media that are used by developed countries so that it can solve the bad internet problem. The result of this research hopefully, can become a reference to improving a more effective learning media that can be used during the coronavirus pandemic in Indonesia.

Abstract

In some traditional large-class classrooms, there are problems such as inactive teaching process and poor teaching pertinence, which makes some students who are easily distracted and have the poor receptive ability cannot keep up with the teaching progress and gradually become students with learning difficulties. This research method using pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this research is the experimental class method there are 48 students and in the control class 48 students grade 7 junior high school students. based on the results, Micro-classes have the characteristics of short, compact and powerful, which can effectively help students with learning difficulties to learn and master mathematics efficiently within the effective learning time. Based on the characteristics of students with learning difficulties and micro-classes, the author explores the actual improvement effect of micro-classes on the mathematics learning of students with learning difficulties by designing micro-classes in a targeted manner and conducting comparative teaching experiments in the first two parallel classes.

Abstract

Under the current situation of epidemic prevention and control, to ensure the continuous progress of student learning, Chinese Ministry of Education put forward the initiative of "suspension of classes without suspension of school". Primary and secondary schools have adopted online learning at home for students to "open schools in the cloud. There is a big difference between online learning and classroom learning. In this process, problems such as increased teaching burden of teachers, lack of interaction between teachers and students, and students' lack of active learning are also exposed. Video learning are a new type of teaching resource. It can improve the efficiency of primary school mathematics teaching by using video learning reasonably. Based on the above analysis, the purpose of this research is to investigate the development of primary school students' logical reasoning ability through the use of video leanings for auxiliary teaching. The research method adopts the experimental method and is divided into the experimental class and control class. The subjects of the study were 72 students from a primary school in Indonesia. Experimental results show that video learning for auxiliary teaching can effectively develop students' logical reasoning ability.
