Abstract

The development and characteristics of students in primary school age vary between students in the low class and high class. The learning process in the lower class of elementary schools has not been able to develop their cognitive skills in full, in contrast to the characteristics of students in the high class. In the classroom action research activities carried out in class II SD Negeri Sosial 1 Cimahi Elementary School this aims to improve the cognitive abilities of students through the application of contextual learning models. The use of contextual learning models applied refers to Jean Piaget's cognitive theory. The method used in this study is the Class Action Research method. The research sample was students of class IIB in SD Negeri Sosial 1 Cimahi City. The design of this study is through the stages of the learning cycle to find the final results of the study. The results of the study prove that the contextual learning model is suitable for learning in low-grade elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of grade 1 students on calculating operating material reduction. Through observation, it is known that the students' low understanding of the calculation counting reduction material is a difficult subject to understand. The most easily found indications are pesetas students' learning outcomes which tend to be less satisfactory, especially in obtaining average scores under other lessons. From the observations of the author of grade 1 students of SDN 009 Cikadut, Mandalajati Subdistrict, Bandung City, experienced difficulties in the reduction, the teacher factor also became a problem of how teachers optimize learning planning to improve grade 1 students' understanding of calculating reduction operations. This study aims to obtain an overview of learning planning in the calculation of reduction operating material by using concrete object media so as to obtain an improvement in the learning process of mathematics in grade 1 students of 009 Cikadut Public Elementary School and find out the results of the students' values in calculating the reduction of operational material using concrete objects. Looking at the situation in the field, the researchers are interested in doing research using concrete objects so that they are expected to trigger activity and creativity in the teaching and learning process that is not only teacher-dominated.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze  the role of mathematics realistic education (RME)  approach on students’ mathematical critical  thinking  and resiliency. This study is an experiment with pre test-post test control group design and involves 62  eleventh grade students, a mathematical critical  thinking test, a mathematical  resiliency scale, and a perception on RME approach scale. The study found, on mathematical critical   thinking  ability (MCTA), its N Gain, and  mathematical resiliency (MR) students getting treatment with RME approach attained better grades than the grades  of students taught by conventional teaching. The first group students attained at medium grade level on MCTA and fairly good grade level on MR, while the second group students  obtained  at low grade level on MCTA, medium grade level on MR, and they realized difficulties in some  items of  mathematical critical  thinking tasks. The other findings, there was no association between MCTA and MR, and students learned actively, thought critically and creatively, were unafraid to pose their opinion and performed to be  self confident during  RME approach.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to understand mathematical concepts possessed by prospective elementary school teacher students. This study aims to see the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical understanding abilities that use Microsoft Excel-based VBA teaching materials with those using conventional learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. This study's population were all second-semester elementary school teacher candidates in one private university in West Java, Indonesia. The sample in this study was 70 prospective 2nd-grade elementary school teacher candidates. The instrument used in this study was a test of understanding mathematical concepts. The results showed: 1) learning using VBA Microsoft Excel as a teaching material was able to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts; 2) learning using Microsoft Excel VBA as teaching material is better than conventional learning; and 3) students can be enthusiastic, active and motivated in learning mathematics with VBA Microsoft Excel.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pembelajaran online mata pelajaran matematika pada materi pengukuran satuan panjang di kelas II SD dalam masa pandemi covid-19 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PMR. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu 2 guru dan 24 siswa yang terbagi menjadi 4 siswa kemampuan tinggi, 4 siswa kemampuan sedang dan 4 siswa kemampuan rendah. Siswa tersebut berasal dari dua sekolah yang berbeda yang pertama dari SDN 04 Cibodas dan yang kedua dari SDIT Firdaus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah RPP, kegiatan pembelajaran, bahan ajar berupa video, LKS, serta angket guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa skenario dan implementasi yang telah dilaksanakan guru sudah sesuai kegiatan pembelajaran; kesulitan-kesulitan dan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi guru, salah satunya sulit menjelaskan materi yang akan disampaikan; kesulitan-kesulitan dan kendala-kendala yang dihadapi siswa, yaitu kurang mengerti materi yang dijelaskan oleh guru; respon guru dan siswa terhadap pembelajaran online, banyak yang harus dipersiapkan sebelum pembelajaran online; RPP, LKS yang digunakan sudah baik dan sesuai dengan kurikukum yang berlaku serta bahan ajar yang digunakanpun cukup menarik bagi siswa dan bisa dipahami; dan upaya yang dilakukan guru agar pembelajaran online berjalan lebih yaitu dengan cara membuat bahan ajar yang menyenangkan bagi siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh masalah rendahnya prestasi belajar matematika yang disebabkan kurangnya pemahaman konsep dasar matematik siswa di sekolah dasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa kelas IV SD  khususnya materi keliling persegi melalui metode Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah  (PBM).  Selain itu penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kinerja guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran yang sesuai. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan beberapa instrumen yaitu, instrumen wawancara, angket guru dan angket siswa. Subjek penelitian yaitu 1 guru dari SDN Nusaindah 01, 1 guru dari SDN Budhi Asih, 12 siswa kelas IV SDN Nusaindah dan 12 siswa kelas IV SDN Budhi Asih. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman matematik siswa di sekolah dasar dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kinerja guru dan pemahaman matematik siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah pembelajaran pemahaman matematika pada siswa kelas VI dengan model pembelajaran Survey Question Read Recite Review (SQ3R). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SDN 084 Cikadut Kota Bandung dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 28 orang yang terdiri dari 15 orang siswa laki-laki dan 13 orang siswa perempuan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa, soal matematika, serta angket guru dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran setelah menggunakan dengan model pembelajaran SQ3R. Hal tersebut ditunjukan dengan nilai rata-rata pemahaman matematika kelas sebesar 79,64 yang tergolong dalam kategori baik, nilai tertinggi siswa sebesar 100 dan nilai terendah sebesar 60. Ketuntasan belajar siswa menunjukan 96,4% siswa mendapatkan nilai diatas kriteria ketuntasan minimum dan 3,6% masih mendapat nilai dibawah nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimum.

Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research is that thinking skills and awareness of the importance of mathematics need to be taught and trained to students from an early age because in everyday life many things are related to thinking skills and awareness of the importance of mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teaching materials using the RME approach in the perspective of elementary school students' multiple intelligences. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with the study population is all elementary schools in the city of Cimahi. The instruments used in this study were written tests, observation, and documentation which were carried out at the pretest and posttest stages. The results of the research achieved were an increase in thinking skills and awareness of elementary students in learning mathematics and the availability of teaching materials using the RME approach. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, Multiple Intelligences, Mathematics Learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of mathematical Metaphorical Thinking capabilities of Bantaran Citarum Elementary School students through a Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach better than those using ordinary learning. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method carried out in one of the elementary schools in Dayeuh Kolot Subdistrict, Bandung Regency. Data collection uses the results of pretest and posttest mathematical Metaphorical Thinking abilities. To get the research data, the instrument was used in the form of a mathematical Metaphorical Thinking ability test. Data analysis is done quantitatively, quantitative analysis is carried out on the ability of Metaphorical Thinking. In calculating data processing using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 23. The results showed that the development of mathematical Metaphorical Thinking capabilities which learning using the RME approach was better than those using ordinary learning. Keywords: Metaphorical Thinking, Realistic Mathematics Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui pengembangan  Self confidence matematik Siswa SD Bantaran Citarum melalui pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen yang dilaksanakan di salah satu SD di Kecamatan Dayeuh Kolot, Kabupaten Bandung. Untuk mendapatkan data hasil penelitian digunakan instrumen berupa tes   Self confidence matematik. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif, analisis kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap  Self confidence. Dalam perhitungan pengolahan data menggunakan program microsoft excel dan SPSS 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan  Self confidence matematik yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan RME lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan pembelajaran biasa. Kata kunci: Self confidence, Realistic Mathematics Education
