Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the talking stick learning method on student learning outcomes in PAI subjects. The research is a quantitative pre-experimental design. The design used is a type of One-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this article was 22 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 04 Tanjung Batu Ogan Ilir. The data collection technique used a multiple choice test of 20 pretest and posttest questions. Data information is processed using SPSS 23 data analysis techniques using the results of the t-test. The results of the study can be obtained and proven by calculating the pretest value received at 71.6364 and the posttest value with the average value of 85.5455. The normality test formula shows that the significance obtained by the pretest data is 0.292>0.05, and the importance obtained by the posttest information is 0.012>0.05, meaning that the pretest-posttest data of class V students are normally distributed. The results of data analysis show that the data obtained influence student learning outcomes before and after the application of existing methods in class V, getting significant results from existing tests, namely 0.000 <0.05, which means Ho is rejected while Ha is accepted.

Abstract

This research discusses the application of the Kibar method in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur'an in Class VI of SD Negeri 82 Palembang. The aim is to determine the application of the Kibar method in improving students' ability to read the Al-Qur'an. This research aims to find out whether there is an increase in students' ability to read the Al-Qur'an before and after the Kibar method is applied. This research is quantitative research which aims to determine the influence, namely causes and impacts, where in this research the analysis is carried out using numbers so that it gets a more accurate meaning compared to using words. The type of research used is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design experimental research. The sample for this research was 30 class VI students. The data collection method uses observation, tests and documentation, while the data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The results of this research show that 1) Students' ability to read the Al-Qur'an before implementing the Kibar method was 6 students in the high category, 19 students in the medium category, and 5 students in the low category. 2) Students' ability to read the Koran after applying the Kibar method was 9 students in the high category, 17 students in the medium category, and 4 students in the low category. 3) Based on the paired samples t-test table, the significance value obtained is 0.001, which means less than 0.05 and the calculated t value of 17,906 is greater than the t table, namely 1.699, indicating that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest, this shows that there is differences in treatment for each variable. From the calculations above, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an increase in the application of the Kibar method in improving the ability to read the Al-Qur'an in class VI of SD Negeri 82 Palembang.

Abstract

This study explores the strategies employed by the Arab and Chinese ethnic groups to preserve their cultural identity within the predominantly Malay-Muslim environment of Palembang. Challenging the common assumption that minority groups are inherently powerless compared to the majority, this research reveals that both the Arab and Chinese communities possess significant influence in the socio-cultural landscape of Palembang. Employing a qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, the study examines how these communities navigate cultural assimilation pressures while maintaining distinct ethnic traditions. The findings indicate that both groups have successfully leveraged their social capital—Arabs through religion and Chinese through economic activities—to sustain their cultural identities and exert influence over the majority Malay population. Notably, this influence is reflected in the organization of significant social rituals, such as the Cap Go Meh Ritual by the Chinese and Ziarah Kubro by the Arabs. The study concludes that inter-ethnic adaptation in Palembang involves not only maintaining harmony but also contestation and negotiation among different groups. This dynamic interaction underscores the complexity of multiculturalism, where harmony is maintained through a pragmatic approach to mutual dependence. The implications of this research extend to policymakers and cultural organizations aiming to support ethnic diversity in a multicultural contex.
