Abstract

The study aim to describe STEM-Robotic implementation as an intra-curricular in regular curriculum. STEM-Robotics is usually implemented as an extracurricular program in many schools. In the 2019/2020 school year, Edu Global Senior High School Bandung implemented STEM-Robotics as an intra-curricular for the ten-grade science program. STEM-Robotic implementation as an intra-curricular based on the challenges of 21st-century learning that lead to innovative creative learning and skills development. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative research method through the observations, questionnaires, and interview with teacher teams. The results of this study show that, 1) The implementation of STEM-Robotic as an intra-curricular has a curriculum that focuses about robots NXT and Arduino to provide the basics of engineering and technological skills in robotics and coding, while the concepts of science and mathematics have not been directly linked in STEM-Robotic, 2) The implementation of STEM-Robotic dominated by hands-on and mind-on activities in the learning process and its assessment. 3) Generally, students responded positively to the implementation of STEM-Robotics as an intra-curricular that makes learning more interesting, useful, fun, challenging, and develop engineering and technology skills. This result indicates that STEM-Robotic is an alternative subject or learning strategy in regular curriculum to accommodate science learning with educational robotics.

Abstract

Periodical properties of elements are not a new topic for students in science education department for they have studied this topic previously in senior high school and in General Chemistry course. However, teaching experiences for the past two years in Basic Inorganic Chemistry course revealed that many students still failed to master the expected learning outcomes for this topic. Therefore, this explorative study was conducted to figure out what kind of difficulty that students perceived in learning this topic. One hundred and twelve students in science education department of Universitas Negeri Padang enrolled in Basic Inorganic Chemistry course in the academic year of 2017/2018 were involved as subjects in this study, and data of students? perceived learning difficulties were collected with a questionnaire. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics technique to map out our findings which will become the fundamental consideration in discussing attempts to overcome students? perceived learning difficulties. Our findings revealed that the sources of students? perceived difficulty came from several factors, namely: the characteristic of content, personal learning style, condition of classroom learning, availability of relevant learning resources and previous learning experiences. Based on these findings, attempts for better learning of periodical properties of elements were suggested.

Abstract

Socialization and training of the use of learning media based on learning management system (LMS) with moodle for junior high school teachers at Methodist 8 Medan aims to improve teachers' knowledge and skills in integrating Information Technology and Communication (ICT) into interactive, interesting and fun online learning. Moodle is a software application produced for dynamic learning activities based on technology, internet and websites. The methods that used for implementing this Community Partnership Program are socialization and training which begin with preliminary observations, analysis of learning problems and the needs of teachers and students. The next stage is the preparation of activities both from the partners and the team. The third and fourth stages are socialization and training on the use of learning media based on LMS by using the Moodle features. The result of this partnership program is that teaching materials such as power point presentation, learning videos, assignments and quizzes/student worksheets have been created and uploaded by utilizing the features in Moodle.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness and method of lectures that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic requires all aspects of life to adapt, including in the field of education. This research is a descriptive quantitative study with a simple survey method using an instrument in the form of a google form which was designed to find out what students and lecturers think about lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The opinion in question was an opinion about the method or media used as well as the difficulties faced in the implementation of online lectures during the pandemic. This study used a purposive sampling technique, namely 5 universities in Indonesia consisting of 200 lecturers and 200 students. All respondents were asked to fill out an online questionnaire in the form of a google form designed to find out the methods or media used in lectures as well as the difficulties faced in using the media. The survey results show that the combination of media that was mostly used by lecturers and students in lectures is Whatsapp Group, Zoom Meeting, campus E-Learning Website, and Google Classroom. The majority of difficulties experienced by lecturers and students in online implementation are the uneven quality of internet connections. Lecturers find it difficult to psychologically assess students who are attending lectures. Lecturers cannot ensure the seriousness of students in the lecture process. In addition, the lecturer also feels that it takes a lot of time in the matter of using the application or media technically, so it is quite disruptive to the course of lectures such as the slow pace of learning media and the length of time required for students to join in the meeting. Lecturers and students still consider online lectures to be ineffective

Abstract

Telah dilaksanakan penelitian pendidikan untuk melihat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa SMA pada pembelajaran Laju Reaksi dengan menggunakan modul berbahasa inggris dan buku bilingual. Modul yang digunakan merupakan modul pembelajaran laju reaksi yang telah dikembangkan oleh peneliti sebelumnya dan buku bilingual yang digunakan merupakan buku komersial yang beredar di masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan rancangan Randomized Control Group Only Design. Sampel diambil dua kelas secara acak dari tujuh kelas siswa kelas XI di SMA kota Padang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrument tes objektif sebanyak 20 soal. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata (t-tes). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas yang menggunakan modul berbahasa inggris memiliki rata-rata nilai (89,06) yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan buku bilingual (70,00). Berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan uji satu pihak atau uji t’, diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan modul berbahasa inggris lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan buku bilingual di kelas XI SMA Kota Padang

Abstract

Telah Dilaksanakan penelitian pendidikan untuk melihat penerapan literasi sains framework PISA 2015 melalui Lesson Study pada pembelajaran IPA di sekolah menengah pertama. Penerapan ini bertujuan untuk melihat proses pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains dengan mengacu pada framework PISA 2015 sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan sikap literasi sains siswa SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel ditetapkan dengan cara purposive sampling, yakni sampling disesuiakan dengan kebutuhan peneliti yaitu salah satu kelas di SMPN 25 Kota Padang yang sedang mempelajari IPA oleh guru-guru yang sudah berpengalaman dalam melaksanakan Lesson Study pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen wawancara dan instrumen observasi pada tahap Lesson Study. Data yang diperoleh kemudian di analisis dan dideskripsikan. Hasil penelitian berupa deskripsi tentang pelaksanaan masing-masing tahapan Lesson Study yakni tahapan plan, do, dan, see.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui tingkat literasi digital siswa ditinjau dari penggunaan teknologi informasi sebagai mobile learning dalam pembelajaran biologi. Selain itu sebagai data base informasi apakah yang menjadi kendala pengemabangan literasi digital  pada siswa mengengah atas (SMA) kecamatan kuala. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif.  Teknik analisa data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dengan tahapan modifikasi metode. Penyajian data dibuat dalam bentuk tabel nilai-nilai statistiknya, sedangkan patokan penilaian menggunakan Penilaian Acuan Patokan atau PAP Tipe II.  Hasil diperoleh pada SMA N 1 Kuala tingkat literasi digital siswa masuk kategori penilaian rendah pada 35,5%. Sedangkan pada SMA N 3 Kuala tingkat literasi siswa masuk kategori penilaian Cukup  51,7%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kategori penilaian tingkat literasi digital siswa Rendah pada SMA N 1 Kuala.  Sedangkan pada SMA N 3 Kuala kategori penilaian tingkat literasi digital siswa Cukup.   Menunjukkan bahwa penerapan disekolah terkait multimedia dan penggunaan teknologi informasi masih kurang diterapkan oleh tenaga pendidik. Selain itu, penerapan literasi digital diluar sekolah belum dikembangkan atau diterapkan oleh siswa dengan baik sebagai mobile learning. Kata-kata kunci: Literasi Digital, Internet, Multimedia, Teknologi Informasi.
