Abstract

Kata Kunci: perubahan asupan gizi, kebiasaan makan, remaja perempuan, anemia defisiensi zat besi Abstract Background: Iron deficiency may happen because of low consumption of foods rich in bioavailable iron and high consumption of foods rich in inhibitors of iron absorption. Improving dietary intake is the most effective way to break the chain of iron deficiency anemia problems. This study aimed to study the changes in dietary intake and health awareness among adolescent girl before and after iron deficiency anemia diagnosis. Method: Cohort study with 62 subjects from 2 junior high school in Wates after hemoglobin test (cyanmethemoglobin method) and were newly iron deficiency anemia diagnosed. Intake of energy, macronutrient (protein, fat, carbohydrate), micronutrient (iron, vitamin C, Copper, Zinc, vitamin B12), inhibitor factors (tannin, oxalate, phytate, fiber), also intake of fruit, vegetable, coffee, and tea, collected using semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQFFQ), 3 months before and 3 months after iron deficiency anemia diagnosis. Data calculated with Nutrisurvey® and STATA 12® for paired T-test. Result: No significant changes (p>0,05) in energy, protein, fat, zinc, vitamin B12, copper, fiber, tannin, and oxalate intake. There were significant improvement in intake of carbohydrate (p=0,0161), iron (p=0,0057), phytate (p=0,000), and vitamin C (p=0,0017). No significant changes in mean intake of fruit, vegetable, and tea servings (p>0,05), but higher consumption of coffee (p=0,0018). Conclusion: Iron deficiency anemia diagnosis resulted in dietary intake changes. Subjects were more aware of their dietary intake after iron deficiency anemia diagnosis. Small fruit and vegetable intake and high tea and coffee consumption suggested that efforts were needed to encourage dietary changes in these foods. Abstract

The government has issued a new normal policy with the aim that people can continue to live productively by changing their lifestyle so as to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. One of the measures to prevent and manage COVID-19 is to increase immunity. Online seminars are one of the most important health promotion methods and can be done in the new normal era. This study aims to determine the effect of online seminars on the knowledge and perceptions of the general public. This study used a quasi-experimental pre and post-test design. The sample in this study were all participants who attended online seminars and filled out the pretest and posttest questionnaires. Univariate data analysis shows that the majority of respondents have a mean age of 29.41 years, most of them are women (58.8%), and are students or have not worked (44.7%). Most of the respondents had a good level of initial knowledge about increasing immunity in the face of COVID-19 (68.4%) and a sufficient level of perception of the new normal (49.1%) before attending online seminars. The bivariate data analysis shows that there is a significant increase in knowledge about increasing immunity in the face of COVID-19 in the new normal before and after attending an online seminar with a p-value = 0.000 (p-value <0.05). Online seminars are the right way to promote health in increasing knowledge about immunity to deal with COVID-19 and perceptions of the new normal in ordinary people.

Abstract

The degenerative disease occurs because of a reduction in the body’s organs’ function. Generally, it occurs in the elderly but nowadays younger people in their productive age also could experience the disease. It can be detected through regular medical checks and the prevention of risk factors. Regular Health Check-ups requires self-awareness, but not everyone is aware to do so. Community service activities with village lecture schemes for degenerative disease dietetic courses were attended by 25 students. Community service activities aimed at increasing public awareness of degenerative diseases by screening and nutritional counseling regularly, namely 3 points of time measurements in 30 days. Measurements were conducted on body composition, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol levels. The results are used as reference data for eating management during counseling. There were 53 residents who voluntarily participated. The activity was carried out in Kelurahan 13 Ulu in the Bingen Culinary Village, which is a study program fostered village. The results showed an improvement where 36 people who had hypertension at the initial examination (65.5 %) has decreased to 30 people (54.5 %), high cholesterol levels at the initial examination were 20 people (36.3 %) to 9 people (16.3 %), overweight 40 people (72.7 %) to 39 people (70.0 %). It could be happened because of respondents’ awareness of their initial results supported by their understanding of the importance of eating management based on their health check results.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are chronic diseases often not realized by sufferers and continue to experience a significant increase. They are the largest contributor to the cause of death in the world. NCDs also affect a person's susceptibility to exposure to coronavirus 19 (covid 19) and increase the severity of covid 19 sufferers. This study aimed to design a health application that the community can use for early detection of NCD risk factors, especially modifiable behavioral risk factors and metabolic risk factors. The application design method used the prototype method. Needs analysis and application trials were conducted at Sriwijaya University. A needs analysis was performed by conducting in-depth interviews with five students, three lecturers, three employees, a leadership of faculty, and ahead of the university's healthy campus program. User trial results are evaluated through Zoom and by filling out a questionnaire on Google Forms. The results of the needs analysis survey showed that most users want the design of an Android-based health application that assesses the risk of NCDs and recommendations for the results of risk assessment. In conclusion, an android-based health application has been designed to independently detect the risk of non-communicable diseases under the name DERI PTM. This application can be developed into an effective educational media for preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases in the community. It can be utilized as an information system (surveillance) of NCDs at Sriwijaya University.
