Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh daun kenikir terhadap uji sitotoksik, apoptosis dan antiproliferasipada kanker payudara sel T47D secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sel T47D dengan konsentrasi ekstrak,fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi methanol daun kenikir 500 µg/ml, 250 µg/ml, 125 µg/ml, 62,5 µg/ml dancisplatin 50 µg/ml, 25 µg/ml, 12,5 µg/ml, 6,25 µg/ml. Penilaian sitotoksik dengan menggunakan MTT assay, pemeriksaanapoptosis dengan menggunakan flowcytometry dan antiproliferasi dengan doubling time dan menggunakan SPSS 17,0dengan one way Annova . Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya kandungan senyawa yang terdapat pada ekstrakyaitu senyawa terpenoid, tannin, dan flavonoid, fraksi n-heksan phenol dan terpenoid, fraksi methanol tannin dan fraksietil asetat flavonoid. Nilai IC 50 ekstrak daun kenikir 237,9 µg/ml, fraksi n-heksan 433,8 µg/ml, fraksi etil asetat 120,6µg/ml, fraksi methanol 241 µg/ml dan cisplatin 11,9 µg/ml. Pada Pemeriksaan apoptosis ekstrak memiliki kemampuanmenginduksi apoptosis sebesar 24,64 %, fraksi n-heksan 0,16 %, fraksi etil asetat 51,5 %, fraksi methanol 7, 81 % dancisplatin 50,75 %. Ekstrak memiliki aktivitas antiproliferasi 46 jam, fraksi n-heksan 39 jam, fraksi etil asetat 56 jam, fraksimethanol 47 jam, kontrol sel 34 jam dan cisplatin pada 58 jam. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa fraksi aktifdari daun kenikir memiliki aktifitas sitotoksik, apoptosis dan antiproliferasi terhadap kanker payudara sel T47D.

Abstract

Sarana dan prasarana bermain bagi anak-anak usia TK dan SD di Desa Limbang Jaya I dan II serta Desa Tanjung Pinang I dan II, Kecamatan Tanjung Batu Kabupaten Ogan Ilir Provinsi Sumatera Selatan dapat dikatakan minim sekali.  Beberapa konsep dasar Matematika dan IPA masih sangat sulit dipelajari siswa. Hal ini termasuk tugas guru untuk membangkitkan siswa supaya dapat mempelajari konsep-konsep Matematika dan IPA dengan mudah dan menyenangkan.  Media belajar pun dapat diperoleh dari lingkungan sekitar, baik berupa “limbah” kertas, kardus, maupun dari tanaman dan kayu sekitar rumah. Media belajar berbahan kertas bekas merupakan salah satu teknik pengajaran Matematika dan IPA yang dapat digunakan sebagai media yang menghubungkan konsep dasar dengan aplikasinya pada kehidupan sehari-hari.  Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberi informasi dan mengenalkan khalayak sasaran mengenai alternatif metode pengajaran konsep Matematika dan IPA melalui ilustrasi cerita menggunakan media belajar berbahan kertas bekas, memotivasi dan mengembangkan ide dan potensi khalayak dalam berinovasi membuat ilustrasi cerita menggunakan media tersebut guna menunjang pembelajaran agar lebih mudah dipahami siswa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa presentasi (paparan).  Pada kegiatan ini juga dilakukan demonstrasi beberapa contoh pembuatan media belajar berbahan kertas beserta ilustrasi cerita pemanfaatannya untuk menerangkan konsep Matematika, IPA, dan seni. Penyuluhan ini telah menambah informasi dan wawasan yang penting bagi guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensinya dalam mengajar.  Mereka mempunyai minat dan motivasi untuk mempraktekkan dan menerapkannya untuk keperluan proses belajar mengajar Matematika dan IPA. Kata kunci:  Media belajar berbahan kertas bekas, Ilustrasi cerita, konsep Matematika, konsep IPA, seni, metode pembelajaran.

Abstract

An individual of Phalakron Plain Plushblue Flos apidanus phalakron was observed and phtographed on 17 March 2020 at campus Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, South Sumatra province. In South Sumatra, this butterfly only known from a historical record in 1929. The recent observation of Flos apidanus phalakron in Indralaya represent a new record for South Sumatra province after 91 years break.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui jumlah sel Purkinje cerebellum anak mencit umur 21 hari (pascasapih) setelah induksi Ochratoksin A selama periode organogenesis. Tiga puluh ekor mencit bunting dibagi secara acak menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan dengan masing-masing 6 ulangan. Ochratoksin A dilarutkan dalam Sodium Bicarbonat, diberikan secara oral pada saat kebuntingan hari ke 7 sampai hari ke -14. Dosis perlakuan Ochratoksin A adalah 0,5 ; 1,0; 1,5 mg/kg bb dan sebagai kontrol tidak diberi perlakuan, serta kontrol placebo diberi perlakuan pelarut Sodium Bicarbonat. Induk mencit dipelihara sampai melahirkan. Pada umur ke 21 hari (pascasapih), anak mencit dikorbankan dan diambil bagian otaknya. Otak mencit selanjutnya dipreparasi dengan metode parafin dan pewarnaan menggunakan pewarnaan Haematoksilin Eosin. Data jumlah sel Purkinje dianalisis dengan Anava Satu Arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT untuk mengetahui beda nyata antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ochratoksin A yang diberikan pada mencit bunting selama periode organogenesis menyebabkan terhambatnya pertumbuhan jumlah sel Purkinje mencit perlakuan yang ditandai dengan semakin menurunnya jumlah sel Purkinje dibandingkan dengan kontrol dan kontrol placebo.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Daging ayam merupakan salah satu sumber bahan pangan hewani yang mengandung gizi yang cukup tinggi berupa protein dan energi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan kulit pisang lilin terhadap pertumbuhan ayam pedaging. Disiapkan Ayam pedaging berusia 1 hari. Digunakan rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 2 kali ulangan dengan konsentrasi 0% (kontrol), 25%,50%,75% dan 100% kulit pisang. Serta analisis menggunakan Analisis Varian (ANAVA), jika terdapat perbedaan antara perlakuan tersebut dapat dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil) dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan berat tubuh ayam pedaging paling baik adalah 0% kulit pisang dengan 289,04 g tetapi, hasil tertinggi pakan campuran antara kulit pisang dan pur komersial terdapat pada konsentrasi (25%) kulit pisang 259,20 gram, (50%) 250,92 gram, (75%) 251,69 gram sedangkan hasil terendah hingga mengakibatkan ayam pedaging mati terdapat pada perlakuan (100%) kulit pisang 64,21 gram. Faktor utama rendahnya hingga mengakibatkan matinya ayam pedaging pada perlakuan 100% kulit pisang disebabkan oleh kandungan C/N yang terdapat pada kulit pisang yang tinggi terutama pada kandungan N-Total yang tinggi mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan rasio C/N sehingga tidak terjadi proses mineralisasi atau meningkatnya kandungan dalam pakan dengan baik. Serta dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa Semakin tinggi konsentrasi pakan yang diberikan terhadap pakan ayam pedaging berpengaruh semakin rendahnya pertumbuhan rerata ayam pedaging. Serta pakan olahan yang terbuat dari kulit pisang lilin pada konsentrasi 25%-75% seluruhnya dapat dikonsumsi ayam pedaging guna menambah berat badan pada ayam pedaging karena memiliki hasil yang tidak berbeda signifikan. Kata Kunci: Broilers, Kulit pisang lilin, pertumbuhan, kecepatan konsumsi   ABSTRACT The research of candles banana skin (Musa zabrina Van Houtte) utilization (Gallus gallus domesticus) has been done. The research aims to find the utilization of candle banana skin as an alternative feed for broilers growth. This research was being used 1-day old broiler. And using competely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 2 repititions this research was being used candles banana skin extract with 0% control 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% concentration.the analized was being used variant analysis (ANOVA), it could continu with Least Significent Difference (LSD) if there is a difference between the treatments with 95% confidence level. The result of this research show that the best gain of broiler, weight, is using 0% candles banana skin extract 289.04 grams. However, this result of mixing feed between candles banana skin and comercial put highhest in (25%) candles banana skin consentration 259.20 grams, (50%) 250.92 grams, (75%) 251.65 grams whie the lowest result that cousing the death of broiler is in (100%) candle banana extract consentration treatment because of high C/N contained. espescially on the high   N-Total cause the decrease of C/N ratio so that there is on mineralization procers on in creasing the feed contained. The conclution is the concentration of the feed given to broilers, it aaffects the low growth average of broilers the feed in 25%- 75% concentrations can consumed by the broilers to increase the weight. Abstract

Study case-control has been conducted to analyse the relationship of occupational exposure in fertilizer plant with semen analysis. The case is the exposed and control group is unexposed. The number of samples for each group was 27. Data is analysed using chi-square and t-test. The result of the research has obtained the characteristic of the workers in the exposed group were the age of 20-30 years old, the working period of 3-5 years, 8 hours/day work, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and not smoking. The unexposed group have 20-30-year-old characteristics, 5-10 years of service, 8 hours/day work, no PPE and smoking. Macroscopic characteristics of semen liquefaction, viscosity, pH and colour of the two groups were no different. Semen volume under 1.5 ml of 18.5% (exposed) and 7.4% (unexposed) with p>0.05; OR=2.84. Microscopic characteristics of semen for motility and viability were not different in the two groups. Low spermatozoa number in exposure group was 55.6% and not exposed 18.5% with a p value<0.05 and OR 5.5. Normal spermatozoa morphology of exposed group workers was 28% and the group was not exposed to 34%. It could be concluded that there is a relationship between occupational exposure and semen analysis.

Abstract

Research in the molecular field requires DNA with a high degree of purity. Local rice varieties of South Sumatra have different leaf texture so that in isolation process to obtain DNA with high purity level required the right method. This study aims to compare the quality and quantity of purity of local rice insulation of local rice varieties of South Sumatra with different methods of CTAB and Wizard Genomic DNA Purification System Kit from Promega. The research was conducted from August 2015 to December 2015 at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sriwijaya University. The method used is DNA isolation method Wizard Genomic DNA Purification System Kit from promega and CTAB. Based on research that has been done result of DNA visualization showed that DNA isolate CTAB method still have smears while DNA isolate method of Wizard Genomic DNA Purification System Kit from promega not. The average DNA isolate concentration of Wizard Genomic DNA Purification System Kit method is A260 / 280 = 1.853 μg / ml. The average DNA isolate concentration of CTAB method is A260 / 280 = 1,705 μg / ml. Isolation of Rice DNA of local variety of South Sumatera using DNA method of Genomic DNA Purification System Kit from promega has higher quality and quantity compared to CTAB method.

Abstract

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) will be examined by looking at the ability between pomegranate extracts or fractions, which are more effective in lowering total blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in mice. This study aims to determine the active pomegranate fraction that can reduce the total cholesterol levels and triglyceride in mice. The research method used was an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which was divided into 6 treatment groups, and test animals divided into 6 treatment groups namely negative control given aquades, positive control fed a high-fat diet, given simvastatin, given 25 mg/grBB of pomegranate methanol fraction, given 50 mg/grBB of pomegranate methanol fraction, given 100 mg/grBB of pomegranate methanol fraction, each treatment group will be divided into 4 male mice.Based on the results of this study that the active fraction that has an effect in reducing blood cholesterol levels and mice triglycerides is the treatment given 100mg/grBB of pomegranate water methanol fraction.

Abstract

Background. Population growth needs to be controlled so as not to cause new and serious problems. Pregnancy and birth control is a solution to control this sizable population growth. Contraception is a way to prevent pregnancy, by inhibiting the process of ovulation, fertilization and implantation. Nevertheless, most of contraceptive regiments were aimed to woman. Male contraception nowadays is very rare. Papaya seed is one of the male contraceptive candidates which has the potential to be developed as male contraception. Previous studies have shown the potential of papaya seed extract could reduce the weight of reproductive organs of male white rats, where it was believed that there was a decrease in spermatogenesis activity. Methods. This research was an in-vivo experimental research post-test only with control group. The study used 32 male and healthy rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain with 8-10 weeks of age. Rats were grouped into 1 control group and 4 treatment groups that were randomly selected. The four treatment groups were group 1: control administered 1% 2ml CMC orally one time per day every morning, group 2: were given N-hexane papaya seed fraction, group 3: were given ethyl acetate papaya seed fraction and group 4: were given ethanol-water papaya seed fraction. The three fractions were given to rats orally at a dose of 100 mg / KgBB / day for 24 days. After that, rat's testes and epidydimis were evacuated to observe reproductive organs and sperm quality. Results. Anatomically, Group 2 and 3 were statistically significant in reducing testicular's and epidydimis' weight compared to the control group, but the n-hexane group was more effective in reducing testicular weight than other treatment groups. Furthermore, groups 2, 3 and 4 were statistically significant in reducing sperm quality (motility, viability, amount of sperm cells and normal sperm cell morphology) compared to the control group, but the n-hexane group was more effective in reducing sperm quality than other treatment groups. Conclusion. Papaya seed n-hexane fraction has potential as a male contraceptive by reducing spermatogenesis activity and decreasing sperm quality in white rats. This study aimed to observe the effect of the entomopathogenic fungal isolates explored from the low and highlands on the decrease in feed and weight of S. litura larvae. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block  Design (RBD) with 52 treatments consisted of 29 isolate of Beauveria bassiana and  23 isolate of  Metarhizium spp. applied on  25  second instar of  S. litura  per replicate. The results showed that the body weight of larvae applied to B. bassiana isolates on the first day of observation was significantly different from the control. The body weight of larvae on the first day of observation of BJgTs isolates (0.30 g) and Bby (0.31 g) was significantly different and lower than the other treatments. The body weight of larvae applied isolate Metarhizium spp. significantly different from the controls. The body weight of larvae on the 9 day applied isolates MPdMs2 (4.74) and MKbTp2 (4.63) was significantly different from other treatments, the leaf area eaten was significantly different from the 7 day to the 12 day of observation. From this research, it can be concluded that B. bassiana isolates coded BJgTs and Bby, isolates Metarhizium spp. MPdMs2 and MKbTp2 codes are isolates that have an effect on reducing feed and larvae weight and cause changes in behavior of S. litura larvae.
