Abstract

Celery plants contain limonene which belongs to the terpen group which has the potential as antifungal. This study aims to determinethe formulation of celer essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo that meets the physical quality requirements with a concentration 0f 1%, 5%, 10%, and to test the effectiveness of celery essential oil anti- dandruff gel shampoo against the fungus Candida albicans that causes dandruff. The research method was carried out experimentally by making an anti-dandruff gel shampoo formula containing celery (Apium graveolens) essential oil and testing its effectiveness against the fungus Candida albicans that causes dandruff using the well method. This study tested the antifungal effectiveness of essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo from formula 0 without celery essential oil (blank) as a negative control, formula 1 with 1% celery essential oil concentration, formula 2 with 5% celery essential oil concentration, formula 3 with 10% celery essential oil concentration, and dandruff shampoo containing 2% ketoconazole as a positive control. The result showed that 1. Celery essential oil can be formulated into anti-dandruff gel shampoo preparations that meet the physical quality requirement. 2. The antifungal effect of celery essential oil anti-dandruff gel shampoo on Candida albicans fungus is very strong with an average inhibitor zone diameter of 20,36 mm in formula 1 21,40 mm in formula 2, 21,60 mm in formula 3. There were differences in the inhibitor vale of each concentration of celery essential oil gel shampoo (p<0,05). Concentration of 5% has provided an optimal effect in inhibiting the growth of the fungus Candida albicans.

Abstract

Green apple skin (Pyrus malus L.) is a fruit that is rich in nutritional content. especially antioxidant chemicals that are beneficial for the human body. This study aims to determine the ethanol extract of green apple peel (Pyrus malus L.) can be made in face mist preparations and to determine the ICso value of face mist preparations from green apple peel ethanol extract (Pyrus malus L.) can provide antioxidant activity This research used the method and made a face mist preparation using various extract concentrations in formula 1 0.1%, formula 2 0.3% and formula 3 0.5% and tested the antioxidant activity using the DPPH method. Green apple peel extract can be made into a face mist, based on the results of the cycling test, the three formulas for the face mist preparation, the ethanol extract of the green apple peel (Pyrus malus L.) has good physical stability of face mist, which is 18.83 ppm which has strong antioxidant activity, formula 2 (0.3%) which is 9.19 ppm has a very strong antioxidant value, and formula 3 (0.5%) which is 6.51 ppm has a very strong antioxidant value. green apple (Pyrus malus L.) can be formulated into a stable face mist preparation before and after the cycling test and the IC50 value of formula 3 (0.5%) is 6.51 ppm which has very strong antioxidant activity. Keywords: Green Apple Peel, Antioxidant, DPPH UV-vis Spectrofotometry Abstrak Kulit apel hijau (Pyrus malus L.) merupakan buah yang kaya akan kandungan gizi, terutama bahan kimia antioksidan yang bermanfaat bagi tubuh manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstrak etanol kulit apel hijau (Pyrus malus L.) dapat dibuat dalam sediaan face mist  dan mengetahui nilai IC50 sediaan face mist dari ekstrak etanol kulit apel hijau (Pyrus malus L.) dapat memberikan aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dan membuat sediaan face mist menggunakan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak pada formula 1 0,1%, formula 2 0,3% dan formula 3 0,5% dan menguji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH. Ekstrak kulit apel hijau dapat dibuat sediaan face mist, berdasarkan hasil uji cycling test ketiga formula sediaan face mist ekstrak etanol kulit apel hijau (Pyrus malus L.) memiliki stabilitas fisik face mist yang baik. Hasil IC50 yang diperoleh berturut-turut terhadap formula 1 (0,1%), yaitu 18,83 ppm memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat, formula 2 (0,3%) yaitu 9,19 ppm memiliki nilai antioksidan yang sangat kuat, dan formula 3 (0,5%) yaitu 6,51 ppm memiliki nilai antioksidan yang sangat kuat dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kulit apel hijau (Pyrus malus L.) dapat diformulasi menjadi sediaan face mist stabil sebelum dan sesudah cycling test dan nilai IC50 formula 3 (0,5%) yaitu 6,51 ppm yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sangat kuat.
