Abstract

Abstract

On transmission links with relatively low bit error rates, error detection codes that have been widely used have dmin = 3. These codes may be unneccesarily powerful for fibre links because they require an excessive number of redundant parity check bits. For the purpose of error detection in ATM networks using optical fibre links, some high-rate, small distance codes with dmin = 2 may be appropiate. These codes, called Small Distance Codes, can be used to detect all single-error patterns and a large fraction of double errors and other patterns. This paper describes the application of small distance codes for error detection in the ATM cell header. Performances analysis are given and compared to the 8-bit CRC recommended by ITU-T. Three alternatives are examined and analysed. The results are displayed and compared to the standard 8-bit CRC and to 10-bit CRC for ATM network as well. Keywords: Small Distance Codes, Header Error, ATM Networks

Abstract

Data is a very important part of our lives nowadays, but it requires a neat and systematic acquisition. This good and systematics data acquisition also required by non-profit institutions. Non-profit institutions in Indonesia are found within various fields, including health, arts, natural environment, agriculture, etc. One of the most needed data recording is the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). PMI is engaged in the humanitarian field and has branches throughout Indonesia, including the districts. Donor data logging is one of the problems faced by PMI. Each time a donor does a blood donation, they need to rewrite their personal data on a piece of paper. This data will then be recapitulated into a computer which sometimes takes time and is not being inputted in real time. This system requires a change that makes data able to be inputted in real time and be stored properly and neatly. The data can then be stored in the cloud as well and be accessed in real time. For non-profit organizations such as PMI, this allows inputting and data processing to become more efficient and flexible. In this study, the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method was used, while the website uses the CodeIgniter (CI) framework. In this research, a website application is produced with features that are in accordance with the expected needs.

Abstract

Understanding Leadership in tertiary education is interesting. Greenleaf, the father of Servant Leadership, has been inspired by several Servant Leadership issues in college before he published his seminal paper on servant leadership. After surveying 11 models and scales of Servant leadership we finally apply the 35-item, six-dimension mea- sure of Servant Leadership Behavior Scale (SLBS). This multi-dimensional measurement was developed by Sendjaya. This study investigates and validates the 6 dimensions and 35 attributes of Servant Leadership. A 35-question questionnaire is used to measure the quality of department heads as the academic leaders in higher education. We study the Servant Leadership Dimension of Head of Department with 120 faculty members. Confirmatory factor analysis is performed to verify and validate the dimension of Servant leadership. It is found that the scale can be used in the context of higher education with one or two significant attributes in every dimension.

Abstract

Team climate in organization is an important element to make the innovation process in an organization works. Study on team and its behaviour is done extensively around the world. It shows the importance of a team. Team climate is one of the characteristics of an innovative team. Team Climate Inventory is a measurement scale to examine the climate factors in a team. Earlier TCI was developed by West in 1990 and then extended in 1995 and 1998. Kivinaki and Eloainio made a shorter version of West’s which consists only 14 items. The shorter version is administered to a total five teams of co-working space start-up. The technology start-up has an intensive program every day within a month under a supervision of tutor from international wellknown company and an entrepreneurial-based university. The quantitative survey was followed by interviewing some of the member and leaders of the start-ups. The item analysis shows that all items are accepted with CITC value are above 0.3. And high reliability with Cronbach’s alpha value is above 0.8. The analysis shows that TCI has 3 factors, which consist of vision, participatory safety, and support for innovation. Keywords: Team Climate, Innovation, Technology start-up

Abstract

Abstract

= 0,006) dan value for money (sig. Kata kunci: functional value, emotional value, value for money, dan minat beli ulang.
