Abstract

X bakery has 51 workers and produces approximately 60.000 pieces of bread in a day for nine working hours. Most of the production activities are manually handled and only. The low-level musculoskeletal pain reported by 92% of packaging workers. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and ideal duration of stretching exercise in reducing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among workers. Using quasi-experimental design, 51 workers involved as respondents who were asked to do a simple stretching exercise in specific duration, five days a week in at least 4 weeks. The MSDs score were measured using the nordic body map (NBM) questionnaire. Intervention divided into 4 categories based on the duration. There is lower level of musculoskeletal pain among all exercise group in average, but comparison test doesn’t show a significant difference compared to control group (p-value=0.232). The group with 15 minutes exercise is the only group that significantly difference compared with the control group (p-value=0.020). The workers with 15 minutes stretching exercise, five days a week tend to have 5.16 % lower level of musculoskeletal pain compared to the control group. Another type of exercise and various durations might be needed as comparison to obtain more representative result.

Abstract

The La Tansa bakery industry is a formal industrial sector that makes bread, some process activities are still repeated manually. This condition will cause the prevalence of MSD complaints because the worker's body position is bent. The purpose of this study was to assess the level of risk of injury using the Quick Exposure Check (QEC) questionnaire and to assess complaints about the impact of this awkward posture using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. This type of research was descriptively carried out at the Latansa Bread Factory, Gontor Ponorogo in May 2020 with a total of 9 respondents. The research results will be analyzed using the Excel program. Based on the results of research on the distribution of questionnaires conducted by researchers and the workers themselves, it shows that the level of risk of injury to 7 out of 9 workers is at the level of 72.8% - 82.7%, which means that research and changes must be carried out as soon as possible. The results of MSD's complaint assessment among workers showed that all were categorized as having moderate complaints. The advice given to the Latansa Bread Factory is to design a chair and table for workers so as to minimize the risk of injury and create effective, safe, comfortable and efficient working condition.

Abstract

Educational staff at the University of Darussalam Gontor sit in front of the computer screen for quite a long time, causing musculoskeletal complaints. Applying the Rule of Twenty (RoT) method is one way to minimize the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the Rule of Twenty methods in reducing the risk level of complaints of musculoskeletal disorders for the educational staff of the University of Darussalam Gontor. This study was a pre-experimental research with one group pre-test – post-test design. The population in this study was the entire 68 educational staff of the University of Darussalam Gontor. Twenty-one (21) staff involved as a sample in this study and selected by purposive sampling method. The Nordic Body Map instrument was used to measure musculoskeletal complaint levels before and after the rule of twenty methods applied. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program version with autocorrelation test and paired t-test (CI: 95%). The measurement results of musculoskeletal disorders among 21 respondents before and after the application of RoT were the level of action 1 (low-risk level). The result of the autocorrelation measurement showed that the value of Durbin Watson (DW) was 1.958 and DW (1.968)> DU (1.8116), indicates that there was no autocorrelation between variables. The paired t-test showed the value of t = 5.760 and p = 0.0001, indicates a significant difference between musculoskeletal disorders before and after the application of the Rule of Twenty Method (p<0.05). Based on the result, this study found that the Rule of Twenty Method is effective in reducing the musculoskeletal disorders of the Educational Staffs, and potentially reduce 9.4% of musculoskeletal complaints among workers.

Abstract

Abstrak Proses produksi pada Pabrik Roti X dimulai dari peracikan bahan, pembuatan adonan, pemanggangan hingga packing oleh tenaga kerja dalam waktu 5-6 jam selama 6 hari setiap minggunya. Berdasarkan pengamatan, postur kerja tenaga kerja tidak ergonomis khususnya pada proses packing sehingga dapat menyebabkan keluhan Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai postur kerja dan prevalensi MSDs pada tenaga kerja bagian packing di pabrik roti X. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitik dengan menggunakan instrumen Quick Exposure Check (QEC) sebagai metode penilaian postur kerja dan Nordic Body Map (NBM) sebagai metode penilaian MSDs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 83% tenaga kerja berada pada action level 3 dan 17% pada action level 2. Berdasarkan NBM terdapat 92% tenaga kerja mengalami keluhan MSDs ringan dan 8% mengalami keluhan MSDs Sedang. Keluhan tertinggi adalah pada punggung dan betis kanan. Oleh karena itu perlu melakukan investigasi lebih lanjut mengenai penyebab dari postur kerja pada tenaga kerja yang memiliki action level 2 dan melakukan penanganan pada tenaga kerja yang memiliki action level 3 dengan memberikan edukasi mengenai bahaya bekerja dengan postur yang tidak ergonomis dan meminimalisir risiko keluhan MSDs dengan melakukan rekonstruksi pada stasiun kerja agar sesuai dengan postur tubuh tenaga kerja.Kata Kunci: Postur Kerja; MSDs; QEC; Nordic Body Map

Abstract

Penerapan program Ringkas, Rapi, Resik, Rawat, dan Rajin (5R) pada industri kecil menengah di Ponorogo masih sangat rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan minimnya pemahaman pemilik industri dan pekerja mengenai pentingnya penerapan program 5R. Salah satu industri kecil menengah di Kota Ponorogo adalah Pabrik Roti La-Tansa Gontor. Berdasarkan observasi awal, dalam proses produksi di Pabrik Roti La-Tansa diketahui bahwa perilaku 5R pekerja masih sangat kurang sehingga mempengaruhi jalannya proses produksi dan kualitas produk. Perilaku 5R pekerja dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti usia, masa kerja, tingkat pendidikan, pengetahuan dan sikap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap perilaku 5R pekerja di Pabrik Roti La-Tansa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 12 orang. Instrumen pengukuran dan penilaian pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku 5R pekerja menggunakan kuesioner dan checklist. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi-square dalam program SPSS versi 24.  Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap perilaku 5R pekerja dengan nilai untuk sikap P-value (Sig) sebesar 1,000 (P-value > 0.05) dan nilai untuk pengetahuan P-value (Sig) sebesar 1,000 (P-value > 0.05). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh antara pengetahuan dan sikap terhadap perilaku 5R pekerja di Pabrik Roti La-Tansa. Perlu penelitian lebih lanjut guna mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi perilaku 5R pekerja di Pabrik Roti La Tansa Gontor

Abstract

PT. X is one of company engaged in mining contracting, infrastructure, heavy mining equipment providers, and as a place to maintain heavy equipment unit. Workshop Area is a place to do some checking process of unit feasibility and completeness. One of the high risk activity at the workshop of PT. X is manual handling. The repeatedly manual handling will caused muscle disorder and forced worker phisics to extra work. REBA method used to analyze the hazard risk of the activity. This study using observational analytic and involving 6 workers of the different jobs as sample. Results of this study shows that the risk level of manual handling activities in every production is medium, so work position need to be changed to avoid musculoskeletal disorders. Keyword: manual handling; REBA; musculoskeletal disorders

Abstract

Universitas Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor kampus Siman merupakan kampus asrama yang dihuni oleh lebih dari 5000 civitas akademika yang beraktifitas selama 24 jam di kampus. Volume sampah yang dihasilkan dari aktifitas harian di wilayah kampus ini bisa mencapai 10 m3 per hari. Berdasarkan survey pendahuluan, UNIDA Caffee sebagai mitra program pengabdian masyarakat ini merupakan salah satu titik sumber sampah yang menghasilkan limbah paling tinggi karena merupakan tempat makan yang paling ramai dikunjungi mahasiswa dan civitas akademika.  Pemilahan merupakan langkah awal pengelolaan sampah yang benar dimana sampah dikelompokkan berdasarkan komposisinya sebelum dilakukan pewadahan atau pengangkutan . Sebab jika tidak dipilah, sampah-sampah yang dihasilkan akan sulit dikelola untuk diolah atau didaur ulang. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu masih rendahnya pengetahuan dan kesadaran akan pengelolaan sampah, belum terdapatnya fasilitas pemilahan sampah dan belum adanya upaya pemanfaatan sampah atau limbah yang dihasilkan. Melalui program ini diharapkan prinsip 3R (reduce, reuse dan recycle) di lingkungan kampus UNIDA Gontor Siman dapat diterapkan secara maksimal. Program pengabidan ini dilaksanakan di Unit Usaha UNIDA Caffe sebagai mitra utama pengabdian dengan memberdayakan staf dan karyawan. Kegiatan utama sebagai solusi permasalahan mitra yaitu : Sosialisasi dan edukasi pengelolaan sampah, menyediakan fasilitas pemilahan sampah dan melaksanakan upaya pemanfaatan sampah yang dihasilkan supaya memiliki daya guna. Program ini telah berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap mitra tentang pemilahan sampah masing-masing sebesar 28.3 % dan 13.3%. Selain itu telah tersedia 2 pasang bak sampah organic-anorganik sebagai fasilitas pemilahan sampah. Diharapkan bagi program selanjutnya agar dilaksanakan pengukuran volume sampah untuk mengetahui efektifitas program dalam mengurangi timbulan sampah.

Abstract

Working at day (morning and afternoon shift) is normal working times according to human physiological conditions, but working at night would impact to the sleep cycle and regulation of human homeostasis. Various studies have found that working at night causing conditions that can interfere the ability to adapt both biologically and socially. Workers on the night shift also have a higher risk of injury or accidents due to work fatigue. This stydy aims to determine the fatigue score between night and non-noght shift workers at Dr Harjono S Hospital, Ponorogo. Data Collected in August 2019 and involved 80 medical workers as respondents who were randomly selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained through direct observation and interviews to respondents. Fatigue was measured in numerical score with Fatigue Assesment Scale (FAS) Instrument. Work shift variables (WS) are divided into : non-night shift (morning, noon) and night shift (morning, noon, night). To find out the differences in physical conditions of workers in each shift, the Heart Rate (HR) of the night shift workers measured in the end of three shifts (morning : 07-14.00; Afternoon : 14.00-21.00; and night :21.00-07.00). Using independent T-test analysis, there was a significant difference in Fatigue Level of workers with night shifts and non-night shifts (p < 0.000). Workers with the night shift has 29.0 of Fatigue Levels or 21 % greather than workers with non-nigh shift (Fatigue Level : 24.2). Result shows that working at night increasing level of fatigue by 21 % than working at day. Workers on the night shift have the highest HR at the end of the shift (86.311 bpm) while workers at noon shift have the lowest HR (85.2). Keywords: Occupational fatigue, work shift, medical workers
