Abstract

Root lesion nematode (Pratylenchus brachyurus) is one of the most important pathogens of patchouli that caused significant losses. Studies on the potential of endophytic bacterial to control P. brachyurus on patchouli had been conducted. To evaluate the effectiveness of endophytic bacterial against to P. brachyurus on patchouli, nine isolates of bacteria ( NJ2, NJ25, NJ41, NJ46, NJ57, NA22, ERB21, ES32, and E26) were applied by deeping root seedling into bacterial suspension. A study of the physiological characteristics of nine isolates was conducted by using specific medium. The results showed that endophytic bacterial was significantly reduced the population of P. brachyurus and all isolates bacterial promoted growth of patchouli (shoot weight, root weight, and root length). Four isolates, i.e. Bacillus NJ46, Bacillus Na22, Bacillus NJ2, and Bacillus NJ57 were among the potential control agents that reduced nematode populations as much as 68.1-73.9%. Almost all of the isolated bacteria from patchouli roots were able to solubilizing phosphate, while some of them had the ability to produce chitinase, cellulase, protease, HCN, and fluorescency. Abstract

An endophytic bacterium isolate G062 was characterized base on its molecular genetic potents, morphology, physiology, and biochemistry reactions. Analysis of 16S rDNA sequences of G062 showed the highest similarity to Paracoccus halophilus (98%). Detection of the phlD and prnC genes occurrence indicated that the bacterium had this antibiotic-like genes of Diacethylphloroglucinol (DAPG) and pyrrolnitrin. The cells are rod shaped (0.59-0.89 x 1.85-3.3 µm), aerobic, Gram negative, non motile, non spore forming,  positive catalase, positive oxydase, could reduce NO3 to N2, nitrogen fixing, producing siderophore and plant growth hormones-like compounds (IAA, Gibberellin, and zeatin), and solubilizing phosphate. The G062 isolate could grow on media containing 2.5% NaCl. Range of the temperature and pH growth were 15-40 and 5.0-9.5 oC, respectively. The bacterium did not cause red blood cells lysis. There was no hypersensitive response when it was injected into tobacco leaves, and it was not pathogenic against potato plantlets.  Moreover, the bacterium promoted the growth of the potato plant and had high colonization ability. These results suggested that the bacterium had beneficial and good traits as biological agent candidate to promote potato plant growth.

Abstract

Smart Resto adalah aplikasi berbasis sistem mobile reservation yang dikembangkan denganmemanfaatkan online geographic information yang telah memungkinkan pengguna PDAphone maupunsmartphone untuk mengetahui posisinya dan melakukan reservasi pada resto yang terdekat. Aplikasi SmartResto ini menggunakan teknologi akses GPRS dan 3G untuk melakukan koneksi dari handheld ke server untukmendapatkan informasi tentang nama dan lokasi resto serta melakukan transaksi order menu dan reservasi.Pada aplikasi Smart Resto ini PHP digunakan sebagai platform dan SQL Server digunakan sebagai databasemanagement system. Web server berperan sebagai gateway bagi aplikasi pada mobile device dan komputerserver yang terdapat pada resto dimaksud.Kata kunci: Mobile Data Communication, GPRS, 3G, Online Geographic Information, m-Reservation, m-Commerce

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the criminal liability against misleading advertising and law enforcement efforts against misleading advertising The experiment was conducted in the city of Samarinda, East Kalimantan province for 3 months. Research methods and techniques of research as follows: library research, field studies, and research papers.The results showed that: (1) the error is the principle of criminal responsibility adopted in Indonesia. Without the error on the creator himself, then it can not be criminal to him. Due to convict the perpetrator must be a mistake first. Liability which may be imposed against misleading advertising is to prove that there is an error on the sellers, advertising agencies and the media. So that they can be punished. Evidentiary difficulties faced, the necessary accountability necessary to deviate from the principle of error. With the application of the principle of accountability strict liability, vicarious liability and enterprise liability in the upcoming draft new Penal Code, then to ask the perpetrators to justice will not have problems, and (2) efforts as law enforcement against misleading advertising are: (a) implement the provisions of and sanctions that exist both in the Criminal Code and the law on Consumer Protection, (b) a sanction imposed should be firm and clear to be implemented, and (c) the Law in order to be effective, those who work as law executors should discharge their duty properly -good. They should use the law broadly. They must be interpreted uniformly and with the certainty that fixed.

Abstract

Pada penelitian sebelumnya sudah dilakukan klasifikasi kanker payudara menggunakan kombinasi dari metode Neural Network (NN) dan Association Rules (AR). Namun metode ini dinilai masih belum optimal dikarenakan hasil rata-rata akurasinya yang menunjukkan angka kurang maksimal. Metode baru diusulkan dengan maksud untuk mencari solusi lebih baik dari metode sebelumnya dalam hal rata-rata akurasi, yaitu dengan menggunakan kombinasi metode klasifikasi Neural Network dan algoritma genetika. Metode Neural Network digunakan sebagai Artificial Intelligence untuk memprediksi kanker payudara, sedangkan algoritma genetika digunakan untuk optimasi parameter Neural Network seperti jumlah hidden layer dan learning rate agar akurasi yang dihasilkan bisa lebih bagus. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan antara metode kombinasi Neural Network dan algoritma genetika dengan metode Naïve Bayesian. Metode evaluasi uji coba yang digunakan adalah metode 10 fold cross validation. Hasil uji coba 10 fold cross validation menunjukkan bahwa metode Neural Network yang optimasi parameternya menggunakan algoritma genetika menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi yang cukup tinggi yaitu 97,00%, lebih baik dari metode Naïve Bayesian yang menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi 96,24% dan juga lebih baik dari metode Neural Network dengan Association Rules yang menghasilkan rata-rata akurasi 95.6%.

Abstract

Blast disease caused by Pyricularia oryzae (Po) is the main disease affecting rice production. Dark septate endophytes (DSEs) is known to improve plant performance and suppress disease. This study evaluated DSEs antagonism potency against P. oryzae in improving the rice plant's health. The research stages consisted of: (1). DSE and Po growth rate; (2). Antagonism of DSEs against Po; (3). Chitinase; (4). DSEs Viability; (5). DSEs application to rice seeds in nurseries. The results showed the growth of APDS 3.2 colonies had fulfilled Petri (d = 9 cm) at three days after incubation (DAI), while 4.1 BTG and TKC 2.2.a at 7 DAI.  Po had slow colony growth required 20 DAI. Inhibition of APDS 3.2 against Po was 43.75%, higher than of 4.1 BTG (38.60%) and of TKC 2.2.a (39.76%). The rice plants inoculated with APDS 3.2 had a relatively higher at seedling height, root length, wet weight, and dry weight than those inoculated with TKC 2.2.a and 4.1 BTG. The highest DSEs colonization was found in APDS 3.2 at 50.56%, followed by TKC 2.2.a (46.67%) and 4.1 BTG (40%). DSEs fungus has the potential to suppress rice blast pathogens by improving the health of rice plants, especially APDS 3.2.Key words: Colonization, Growth Rate, Viability  Penyakit blas yang disebabkan oleh Pyricularia oryzae (Po) merupakan penyakit utama yang memengaruhi produksi padi. Dark septate endophyte (DSE) diketahui mampu meningkatkan performa tanaman dan menekan penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi potensi antagonisme DSE terhadap P. oryzae dalam meningkatkan kesehatan tanaman padi. Tahapan Penelitian terdiri atas: (1). Kecepatan tumbuh DSE dan Po; (2). Antagonisme DSE terhadap Po; (3). Kitinase; (4). Viabilitas DSE; (5). Aplikasi DSE pada benih padi di persemaian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan koloni APDS 3.2 telah memenuhi petri (d= 9 cm) pada 3 hari setelah inkubasi (HSI), sedangkan 4.1 BTG dan TKC 2.2.a pada 7 HSI. Pertumbuhan koloni Po lambat membutuhkan 20 HSI. Penghambatan APDS 3.2 terhadap Po sebesar 43,75% lebih tinggi dibandingkan 4.1 BTG (38,60%) maupun TKC 2.2.a (39,76%). Tanaman padi yang diinokulasi APDS 3.2 memiliki tinggi, panjang akar, bobot basah, dan bobot kering relatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan yang diinokulasi TKC 2.2.a dan 4.1 BTG. Kolonisasi DSE tertinggi dijumpai pada APDS 3.2 sebesar 50,56%, diikuti TKC 2.2.a (46,67%) dan 4.1 BTG (40%). Cendawan DSE memiliki potensi untuk menekan patogen blas padi dengan cara meningkatkan kesehatan tanaman padi, khususnya APDS 3.2.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest pepper producing countries in the world. One of the pepper-producing provinces in Indonesia is the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel). However, the infection of Radopholus similis and Meloidogyne spp. which causes yellow disease becomes one of obstacles in pepper cultivation in Babel. Thus, alternative solution to overcome this yellow disease is by reducing the amount of nematode inoculum of R. similis and Meloidogyne spp. in soil. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the infusion of oyster mushrooms baglog waste enriched with molasses to control the population of R. similis and Meloidogyne spp. and to increase the population of rhizobacteria. Infusion of oyster mushrooms baglog waste was mixed with 1% of molasses and was poured into soil obtained from the pepper plant roots. The concentrations used were 10%, 20%, 30% and 50%. Population of phytonematode, rhizobacteria, proteolytic bacteria, and group of fluorescence bacteria were calculated before and 7 days after treatment. Results showed that the populations of R. similis and Meloidogyne spp. in the soil poured with the influsion of oyster mushroom baglog waste decreased by 29.11% (R. similis) and 24.61% (Meloidogyne spp.), compared to the before and control treatments. The suppression of nematode population was found to be the highest in the influsion treatment at concentration of 50%. Overall, treatment of all concentrations succeeded to increase the population of rhizobacteria, proteolytic bacteria, and group of fluorescence bacteria in soil. Moreover, the highest increase was found in soil treated with concentration of 50%. This study provided new information that the infusion application of oyster mushrooms baglog waste enriched with molasses had the potential to increase the population of rhizobacteria and suppress the amount of pathogens R. similis and Meloidogyne spp.

Abstract

Effectivenes of Brassicaceae plant wastes to control the root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) at a field microplot scale. Meloidogyne spp. is a soil borne pathogen that infects plant roots and causes root galls. Root knot nematodes can reduce crop production by 15 to 95%, so that the control measures are needed. One of the control methods is using plants as biofumigant. Plants of the family Brassicaceae were reported contain glucosinolate (GSL). During decomposition, GSL is hydrolized to isothiocyanates (ITS) which is a highly toxic compound to soil organisms, including nematodes. The research objective was to determine the effectiveness of five Brassicaceous plant wastes, namely cabbage (B. oleracea var capitata), radish (Raphanus sativus), broccoli (B. oleracea var italica), chinese cabbage (B. chinensis) and pakcoy (B. rapa var parachinensis) to suppress root knot nematodes (RKN). The experiment was conducted on microplot scale in the field. The experimental design used was a 4x5 factorial CRD. The first factors are waste of Brassica and the second factors are the amount of Brassica wastes per microplot. The experiments were made in 6 replications. Application of 5 Brassica plant wastes at all doses tested effectively reduced the number of root knot by 45.65% to 94.43% and increased the average number of tomato fruits. Tomato plants grew better at microplots when treated with chinese cabbage and pakcoy wastes.

Abstract

 Kopyor is a recessive-gene-trait coconut that has a delicious taste and high prices. One of several major problems of kopyor coconut cultivation is leaf spot disease. Endophytic bacteria originated from Arecaceae can be used as a biocontrol agents to control the disease in a sustainable way. The objective of the research was to select endophytic bacteria isolated from Arecaceae roots and leaves such as Pejibaye (Bactris gasipaes), Oil Palm (Elaeis guinensis), Kopyor Coconut (Cocos nucifera), Sugar Palm (Arenga pinnata) and Nibung (Oncosperma filamentosa) as biocontrol agent of Pestalotiopsis sp. Fourty isolates of endophyte bacteria are not pathogen to plant or animal and human. There are seven best selected endophytic isolates that can inhibit Pestalotiopsis sp. Some of them have the ability to dissolve phosphate, produce IAA, chitinase, and fix nitrogen. Those isolates are  EAKSS 502, EAKSS 507, EAKSS 509, EAKSS 510, EAAPN 237, EAONN 545 and EAKPN 201. EAKPN 201 is the best candidate as biocontrol agent againts Pestalotiopsis sp. with 64,4% inhibition of Pestalotiopsis sp. on antagonist test. [Keywords:  Palmae, plant pathogen, antagonist agents,  antibiotict test]AbstrakKopyor adalah kelapa dengan sifat gen resesif yang memiliki rasa lezat dan harga yang tinggi. Salah satu masalah utama dalam pembudidayaan kelapa kopyor adalah penyakit bercak daun. Bakteri endofitik yang berasal dari tanaman Arecaceae dapat digunakan sebagai agens pengendali hayati dalam mengendalikan penyakit secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menseleksi bakteri endofit yang berasal dari akar dan daun tanaman Arecaceae seperti Pejibaye (Bactris gasipaes), Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis guinensis), Kopyor Coconut (Cocos nucifera), Aren (Arenga pinnata) dan Nibung (Oncosperma filamentosa) yang berfungsi sebagai agen biokontrol Pestalotiopsis sp. Empat puluh isolat bakteri endofit non patogen terhadap tumbuhan atau hewan dan manusia berhasil diperoleh. Tujuh isolat bakteri endofit memiliki daya penghambatan terbaik terhadap cendawan Pestalotiopsis sp. Beberapa isolat memiliki kemampuan dalam melarutkan fosfat, memproduksi IAA, kitinase dan mengikat nitrogen. Ketujuh isolat tersebut yaitu isolat EAKSS 502, EAKSS 507, EAKSS 509, EAKSS 510, EAAPN 237, EAONN 545 dan EAKPN 201  EAKPN 201 adalah kandidat terbaik sebagai agen biokontrol untuk Pestalotiopsis sp. dengan penghambatan sebesar 64,4% pada uji antagonis.[Kata kunci:  Palem-paleman, patogen tanaman, antagonis,  uji antibiosis]

Abstract

Soil nutrient imbalance comparing roughly the amount of fertilizer added and harvest taken implies on pest and disease problems of durian (Durio zibethinus) at district of Doro, Pekalongan regency. The aims of activity are campaigning the importance of soil organic matter returning and working together with local farmers for healthier plant husbandry. The activity started with a survey process and the taking of several trees as samples to carry out plant sanitation activities with local partner farmers. This activity is carried out to fulfill plant nutrition and nutrients by returning soil organic matter used as compost. Bio-Hara Plus liquid organic fertilizer and pesticide formulations were introduced to farmers as activators to accelerate the decay of organic material or composting. Socialization was also carried out to farmers about plant health programs and direct practices to several partner farmers This method is introduced to partner farmers and is expected to become a model for other farmers. Bio-Hara Plus was responded by both farmers and local communities and the potential for collaboration with Village-Owned Enterprises regarding the supply of Bio-Hara plus and other plant health products.
