Abstract

Essay writing has a fairly complex level of difficulty. Moreover, the online and offline learning process in the era of technological progress has directed learning activities to be carried out through technological innovation. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of film trailers on improving English essay writing skills for students at Bina Sarana Informatika University, Jakarta. The research method uses experiments with a one-group experimental design. Participants were taken using a purposive sampling technique of as many as 50 students. The research was conducted on 3rd-semester students of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data analysis technique used essay tests and observation. Data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that students in the Essay Writing class experienced an increase in their ability to write English essays. There are 80% of the respondents who experienced an increase in their English essay writing test scores before and after using the film trailer learning media. In addition, the data from the t-test also showed that t-Stat t-table (-10.384 2.0095), meaning that there was a significant effect of movie trailers on English essay writing skills. The results of the study also have implications for the understanding of the teaching staff regarding the use of digital learning media or technology applications in building more innovative writing classes

Abstract

Students have a different pattern in using the learning strategy. It is seen in their activity when they do the writing. The objective of this research was to observe the students’ pattern using metacognitive strategy in English Academic Writing learning through an online zoom application. The method used descriptive qualitative research. The data is taken from observation and survey from 20 participants who got the English academic writing subject in 2019/2020 academic years at English Program Study Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika. Analysis procedures include observation of activity patterns, identifying learning strategy patterns, categorizing, and strategy learning pattern analysis. The results showed that the students used metacognitive strategy in the academic writing process with different patterns. It can see from activity steps of the metacognitive strategy that is implemented in the class. Students’ activity pattern is planning, identifying, correcting errors, revising, rereading, monitoring, and evaluating. Metacognitive strategies had used by students to consciously control the writing activity because each segment of one’s stored world knowledge help students to create the story. The study's implication is managing students’ activity patterns when the teacher used the strategy learning. It has to be appropriate to students’ needs.

Abstract

Sekolah negeri di Indonesia masih tersiksa dengan berbagai persoalan. Salah satunya adalah kemerosotan moral di kalangan pelajar. Prestasi dalam pelatihan, khususnya pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh pendidik kepada siswa, tidak hanya terkait dengan teknik dan strategi  yang tepat, tetapi juga terkait dengan partisipasi sekolah dan keluarga dalam pembelajaran karakter dengan mengarahkan mental siswa itu sendiri. Partisipasi keluarga dengan satuan pengajaran sangat penting, satuan sekolah berkewajiban untuk mendukung kerjasama dan inklusi keluarga dalam mendorong sekolah anak-anak mereka. Dalam usaha bersama ini, tentunya pembinaan mentalitas seseorang sejak dini oleh keluarga dan sekolah dengan alasan bahwa cara pandang atau pendekatan sikap siswa yang benar sejak awal akan mempengaruhi keseluruhan keberadaan siswa di kemudian hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus (case studies). Penelitian dilakukan di MIN 27 HSU desa Jingah Bujur, Kec. Haur Gading. Berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan yang berbeda menunjukkan bahwa adanya partisipasi di antara keluarga dan sekolah dan penanaman mindset sejak dini mempengaruhi peningkatan kemajuan dalam pendidikan karakter dan prestasi anak-anak mereka.

Abstract

Setiap orang tua mempunyai pola asuh tersendiri dalam mendidik anak-anak mereka. Pola asuh tersebut berpengaruh terhadap tumbuh kembang anak. Orang tua mempunyai pengaruh yang paling besar terhadap anak, setiap orang tua mempunyai pola asuh tersendiri dari segi mengasah, mengasuh dan mengasih dalam hubungan bersama anak-anak, dan ini berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pola asuh orang tua terhadap tumbuh kembang anak (stunting). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan jenis pendekatan studi kasus. Dengan metode tersebut dapat memberikan pemahaman terhadap orang tua mengenai pola asuh yang baik sehingga anak akan terhindar dari perilaku yang menyimpang.

Abstract

This study discusses the humanity values contained in the characters War for Planet of The Apes movie. This analysis uses method of qualitative data. This study uses two kinds of data. Firstly, the primary data is from the literary work itself, War for Planet of the Apes.The secondary data such as theory books, previous studies, and journals. The data analyzed is taken from the player’s remarks in War for Planet of The Apes movie. The theory taken to discuss human values is Hardiman's theory. Hardiman said there are six of humanism values, they are (1) appreciate opinions, (2) cooperation, (3) sacrafice, (4) care about others, (5) helping, and (6) solidarity. The results of this analysis are humanitarian values that arise in the main character in terms of human nature, and how the value of humanity is realized in real life. There are four humanism values that contained in the movie, namely (1) cooperation, (2) care about others, (3) sacrifice, and (4) helping. Penelitian ini membahas tentang nilai kemanusiaan yang terdapat pada karakter dalam film War for Planet of The Apes. Metode yang dilakukan dalam menganalisis adalah kualitatif data. Pertama, data primer adalah War for Planet of The Apes. Dan data kedua seperti buku teori, pelajaran sebelumnya dan jurnal. Data yang dianalisis diambil dari ucapan pemain dalam film War for Planet of The Apes. Teori yang diambil untuk membahas nilai-nilai kemanusiaan adalah teori Hardiman. Hardiman berpendapat bahwa ada enam nilai kemanusiaan, yaitu (1) kebebasan berpendapat,(2) kerjasama, (3) rela berkorban, (4) peduli terhadap sesama, (5) menolong, dan (6) solidaritas. Hasil dari analisis ini adalah nilai-nilai kemanusiaan yang timbul pada karakter utama dalam hal sifat humanisnya, dan bagaimana nilai kemanusiaan ini terealisasikan dalam kehidupan nyata. Nilai kemanusiaan yang terdapat dalam film tersebut ada empat, yaitu (1) kerjasama, (2) peduli terhadap sesama, (3) rela berkorban, dan (4) menolong. Kata Kunci: Film, Karakter Utama, Nilai-Nilai Kemanusiaan

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze students' perceptions of YouTube as authentic teaching material in online classes. The research method uses qualitative. Participants were taken from the Grammar and Speaking classes as many as 50 students from the English Language Program at Universitas Indraprasta Jakarta. Data were collected using interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis used interactive model analysis form Miles and Huberman that were the stages of data reduction, data display, and concluding. The results show that YouTube can become authentic material if it has content, plot, duration, and originality that suit the needs and learning objectives. Videos on YouTube also have quality and clear sound. However, YouTube is not only assumed to be the main authentic teaching material, but it will be better if it is equipped with journals, websites and books. The results of this study have implications that teachers must know the needs of students regarding teaching materials and videos that are made should be by the level of learning needs

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parents' attention on learning achievement in English, the effect of learning motivation on learning achievement in English and to determine the effect of parents' attention and motivation to learn on learning achievement in English simultaneously. The research method used was a survey. The sample size was 52 students; with the sampling technique used was random sampling. Hypothesis testing uses 2-way ANOVA test. The results showed that there was a significant influence of parents' attention and motivation to learn together on students' English learning achievement at MTsN 6 East Jakarta, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0,000 < 0.05 and F count = 26.255. There was a significant influence of parents’ attention on students' English learning achievement at MTsN 6 East Jakarta, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.001 < 0.05 and t arithmetic = 3.380. There was a significant influence of learning motivation on students' English learning achievement in MTsN 6 East Jakarta, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.004 < 0.05. Parental attention and learning motivation had a significant effect on learning achievement.

Abstract

There is a significant influence of parents 'attention on students' English learning achievement at MTsN East Jakarta, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and t value = 3.360. 3.) There is a significant influence of learning interest on students' English learning achievement in MTsN East Jakarta, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.000 <0.05 and t value = 3.604. Parental attention and learning motivation have a significant effect on learning achievement.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pemanfaatan teknologi kecerdasan buatan bagi dosen dalam menghadapi tantangan perguruan tinggi di era disrupsi ini. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Perguruan tinggi di era disrupsi menghadapi tantangan yang semakin kompleks dan bervariasi. Untuk mengatasi perubahan besar dalam perguruan tinggi, dosen memerlukan alat dan strategi yang efektif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mahasiswa dan menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten dalam dunia yang selalu berubah. Teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) muncul sebagai potensi solusi yang dapat membantu dosen dalam menghadapi tantangan ini. Artikel ini merangkum berbagai cara AI dapat digunakan oleh dosen, termasuk personalisasi perkuliahan, penilaian yang lebih efisien, analisis data perguruan tinggi serta pengembangan materi perkuliahan. Namun, implementasi AI memerlukan pemahaman yang mendalam, pelatihan yang sesuai, dan penerapan etika yang kuat. Dengan pemanfaatan yang bijaksana, AI memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kualitas Perguruan tinggi di perguruan tinggi tinggi, mempersiapkan mahasiswa untuk masa depannya lebih baik dari sisi pengetahuan dan keterampilan, dan membantu dosen dalam menghadapi tantangan di era disrupsi pada Perguruan tinggi tinggi.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out how MAN 3 Tangerang students felt about YouTube videos that were utilized as a English learning resource. A quantitative descriptive research method is employed. An adapted questionnaire was used to collect data for this study utilizing the questionnaire method. Three indicators make up the questionnaire: media practicality, media usability, and accessibility. After that, the research data are examined utilizing the percentation statistical formula. Based on the data analysis results, it is known that students' opinions on English learning materials based on YouTube videos fall into the excellent category, scoring 80 of the total indicators.
