The objective of researchis to analyze affixation in The Script song lyric. The main purpose of this research is to know how affixation process happens in The Script song lyric âHall of Fameâ. The method used in this research isdescriptive qualitative method. The data used the text script oflyric. It will be an object to know how affixation process happens and what the influencescauses by affixation itself. The result of this analysis shows that affixation process dividedintwo types depends on affixes itself.Â Â

The objective of this research is to know the function of the usage of slang, especially slang used by the characters of Step Up 2 The Streets movie. The method of this research used descriptive qualitative method, the data were collected through observation of the movie, analysis of slang in the dialogue, and analysis sociological properties of slang based on the dialogues. Defining the sociological properties of slang and analyzing the most frequent of properties used are taken from the theory of Mattiello. Analyzing the purposes of using slang in a community is taken from the theory of Victor and Dalzel. The result of this research are: (1) From 31 sociological properties are known, only 14 properties used in the movie, following: ‘Color’, ‘Efficiency’, ‘Group-Restriction’, ‘Informality’, ‘Subject-Restriction’, ‘Orality’, ‘Musicality’, ‘Aggressiveness’, ‘Unconventionality’, ‘Offenciveness’ ‘Desire to Impress’, ’Hybridism’, ‘Localism’, ‘Secrecy’, (2) The most frequent of sociological properties is ‘colour’, (3) The purposes of using slang are: to enrich the language, to induce friendliness or intimacy, to prove that someone did not belong to a certain society, and to be secret.

The purpose of this research was to know the social relationships through Sorokin's theory. This research was done through a film titled Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them which was released in 2016. The data were taken from the utterances of the characters’ dialogue through documentation, the process of watching, and post watching the film. The method of research used a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study indicated that: (1.) the types of social relationships are social interaction phenomena and non-social interaction phenomena, (2.) From the seven data about a social relationship, three data are about social interaction phenomena: by human in friendship, by human in ethnicity, and social interaction phenomenon in helping the economy, (3.) using Tsapeli's theory, the sub-chapters of the causes and effects are also successfully identified.

Essay writing has a fairly complex level of difficulty. Moreover, the online and offline learning process in the era of technological progress has directed learning activities to be carried out through technological innovation. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of film trailers on improving English essay writing skills for students at Bina Sarana Informatika University, Jakarta. The research method uses experiments with a one-group experimental design. Participants were taken using a purposive sampling technique of as many as 50 students. The research was conducted on 3rd-semester students of the 2021-2022 academic year. The data analysis technique used essay tests and observation. Data were analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that students in the Essay Writing class experienced an increase in their ability to write English essays. There are 80% of the respondents who experienced an increase in their English essay writing test scores before and after using the film trailer learning media. In addition, the data from the t-test also showed that t-Stat t-table (-10.384 2.0095), meaning that there was a significant effect of movie trailers on English essay writing skills. The results of the study also have implications for the understanding of the teaching staff regarding the use of digital learning media or technology applications in building more innovative writing classes

Students have a different pattern in using the learning strategy. It is seen in their activity when they do the writing. The objective of this research was to observe the students’ pattern using metacognitive strategy in English Academic Writing learning through an online zoom application. The method used descriptive qualitative research. The data is taken from observation and survey from 20 participants who got the English academic writing subject in 2019/2020 academic years at English Program Study Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika. Analysis procedures include observation of activity patterns, identifying learning strategy patterns, categorizing, and strategy learning pattern analysis. The results showed that the students used metacognitive strategy in the academic writing process with different patterns. It can see from activity steps of the metacognitive strategy that is implemented in the class. Students’ activity pattern is planning, identifying, correcting errors, revising, rereading, monitoring, and evaluating. Metacognitive strategies had used by students to consciously control the writing activity because each segment of one’s stored world knowledge help students to create the story. The study's implication is managing students’ activity patterns when the teacher used the strategy learning. It has to be appropriate to students’ needs.

The title of this research is about the translation problem on translating complaint expressions in the film Descendants. The purpose of this research is to find the problems which shown when the translator uses one of the method in translation. The theory which is used in the analysis is the translation theory by Newmark. The data of this analysis is taken from film Descendants in twoversions that are English and Indonesian Version. There are 12 data which consist of complaint utterances from male characters. The conclusion of this research is complaint utterances which mostly used statement, there are 4 complaint utterances which is translated uses semantic translation method. Because the translator wants to hold the meaning based on the context of story and originality.

Poetry/poem as one of a literary works is definitely an interesting subject to be analyzed. In a poem there are some elements that are valuable as an analysis source. One of them is Imagery. Imagery is used in a poem to help the readers in understanding and comprehending the whole poem because through imagery the readers can imagine every word, they are reading in the poem so they can see, feel, touch, hear, taste and smell the thing that is described by the speaker/poet. Literary work also can be analyzed by its extrinsic elements which is literary criticism or multi disciplines. One of phenomenal literary criticism is psychoanalytic perspective. Through psychoanalytic perspective the work of literature reveals the psychoanalytic aspect of the depth true feeling of the author. The purpose of this analysis is to know what kinds of imagery contained in Dover Beach poem written by Matthew Arnold. The method of this analysis is using descriptive and qualitative methods by reading and underlining the line and stanza contains imagery and every line and stanza reveals the psychoanalytic aspect. The result of this analysis is the writer finds out there are some imagery contained in Dover Beach poem. Dover Beach poem contains Visual Imagery, Olfactory Imagery, Auditory Imagery, Kinesthetic Imagery, and Organic Imagery. In Dover Beach poem are found some of psychoanalytic aspects such as unconscious and the id, ego, and superego in Dover Beach poem

This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation and learning media toward English language proficiency. The method used in the study is an experiment with a 2x2 factorial design. The technique used to analyze the data in this study is the technique of analysis of variance (ANOVA) 2 lanes at significance level α = 0.05 and α = 0.01. If the analysis is found in the interaction, then followed by Tuckey test. Normality test conducted using the test Liliefors, while the homogeneity test using Bartlett's test with a confidence level of α = 0.05. The results showed that there were differences between the groups of English learning students learn to use digital games and movies for Fh (k) = 8,130 to Ft (0,05) = 4:04 (Fh (k)> Ft), then there is an interaction effect between English language learning with digital games and movies for Fh (bxk) = 26 168, with Ft (0,05) = 4:04 (Fh (k)> Ft), there are differences in English proficiency among students studying with digital games and learning with film on the group of students who have high motivation because the Q value of count is 9617, with Q table at significant level 5% the amount was 2.86, and that there was no difference between the English skills of students studying with digital games and learning with the film on group of students who have low motivation for the Q value of count is 0839 with the Q table at significant level of 5% was 2.86 magnitude. Abstract. The study purpose was to increase English extensive reading activities using google classroom in online learning process, especially in pandemic Covid-19 situation. This research is action research which used exploratory mixed method using Elliot model. Process of collecting data used observation, interview, diary note, and test. The technique of analysis data was reduction, presentation, and taking conclusion. The research finding show that google classroom has given significant impact on English extensive reading in the classroom. Some students think that it is easy to delivery assignment and correction of the task. They can do it out of class. It can be seen from the average score from reading test in pretest is 53 and posttest is 87. Therefore, integrating digital literacy with the reading learning is a big challenge for the learning and teaching process. Keywords: Extensive Reading, Google Classroom, Online Class, Covid-19

The purpose of the study was to get deeply information abbreviation usage in Twitter application. The abbreviation has used to make shorter time in delivering the message but the receiver can understand the message. The method used descriptive qualitative. The data is taken from www.twitter.com as an online application. The source of data was the Twitter application that has made by university students, high school students and employee. The study found that 4 types of abbreviation have used in twitter communication, namely clipping, blending, acronym, and initialism. The abbreviation usage helps the people to make simple conversation like as non-formal communication.
