Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to find out the effect of Problem Solving technique and motivation toward students’ writing skills in STKIP Adzkia. This research was based on the problems which were occurred in the writing class. The students at STKIP Adzkia did not sufficiently-learn skills on how to make a good paragraph, how to get many ideas when they start their writings and how to arrange their ideas systematically. This research was a quasi-experimental research with factorial design 2x2. The instruments that were used for this research were writing test and motivation questionnaire. T-test analysis and two ways ANOVA analysis were used in analyzing the data. The result of this research revealed that: (1) Students who were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than students who were taught by brainstorming technique toward students’ writing skill; (2) Students who had high motivation and were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than who thought by Brainstorming technique; (3) Students who had low motivation and were taught by Problem Solving Technique were better than who were thought by Brainstorming technique; (4) There was no interaction between technique and motivation toward students’ writing skill. The Findings had been proven that Problem Solving technique gave significant impact on students’ writing skills. Keywords: Problem Solving technique; motivation; writing skill  Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik Problem Solving dan motivasi terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa di STKIP Adzkia. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada masalah yang terjadi di kelas menulis. Mahasiswa STKIP Adzkia tidak cukup mempelajari keterampilan membuat paragraf yang baik, cara mendapatkan banyak ide saat memulai tulisan dan cara menyusun ide secara sistematis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes menulis dan angket motivasi. Analisis uji-t dan analisis ANOVA dua arah digunakan dalam menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Siswa yang diajar dengan Teknik Problem Solving lebih baik daripada siswa yang diajar dengan teknik brainstorming terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa; (2) Siswa yang memiliki motivasi tinggi dan diajar dengan Teknik Problem Solving lebih baik daripada siswa yang berpikir dengan teknik Brainstorming; (3) Siswa yang memiliki motivasi rendah dan diajar dengan Teknik Pemecahan Masalah lebih baik daripada yang berpikir dengan teknik Brainstorming; (4) Tidak ada interaksi antara teknik dan motivasi terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Temuan telah membuktikan bahwa teknik Problem Solving memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Kata kunci: Teknik Pemecahan Masalah; motivasi; keterampilan menulis

Abstract

Kesantunan berbahasa merupakan hal yang penting diterapkan kepada anak sejak awal berbicara hingga dewasa. Kesantunan berbahasa dikalangan siswa, dewasa ini sangat memprihatinkan dikarenakan beberapa faktor yaitu: faktor keluarga, faktor lingkungan, pendidikan dan lain-lain. Pembelajaran di sekolah pun sudah menekankan nilai pendidikan karakter yang harus dimiliki siswa. Berdasarkan faktor  tersebut maka perlulah dilakukan pemahaman dan penanaman konsep kesantunan berbahasa dan nilai pendidikan karakter bagi siswa untuk lebih memperhatikan kesantunannya dan membangun karakter yang baik saat berbicara dan bergaul dengan teman sejawat maupun orang dewasa. Dengan memperkenalkan cerpen tersebut kepada siswamaupun masyarakat luas diharapkan semua kalangan dapat mengambil dan mengaplikasikan sisi baik yang terdapat pada cerpen tersebut pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan pragmatik. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini dilakukan secara interaktif dan berlangsung secara terus menerus sampai tuntas dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut: mengumpulkan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ditemukan pertama, prinsip kesantunan berbahasa dalam cerpen antara lain: maksim kebijaksanaan, maksim kedermawanan, maksim penghargaan, maksim kesederhanaan, maksim pemufakatan, dan maksim kesimpatisan. Kedua, nilai pendidikan karakter yang ditemukan yaitu, religius, jujur, disiplin, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, dan gemar membaca.

Abstract

Paraphrasing must be done in writing scientific papers to avoid plagiarism. So this is important for all students. However, in reality, Asahan University FKIP students still have not mastered the correct paraphrasing technique. These abilities can be developed by diligently reading or with the help of free or paid online applications. The method of this activity was carried out in three stages, namely: preparation, implementation, and evaluation, by distributing questionnaires for student responses to the activities that have been carried out. This community service activity was at the Asahan University FKIP, Jalan Jend. Ahmad Yani Kisaran. Participants in this activity were all students of the seventh semester of the English Education study program, totalling 43 students, and Mathematics Education, totalling 57 students. This activity was carried out by introducing paraphrasing tools to help students reduce plagiarism. However, these tools must be re-read by students so that the meaning of the articles quoted is the same. The results of the introduction and training on paraphrasing applications, namely smodin, spinner id, quilbolt, and paraphrasing tools, were fascinating and help students reduce plagiarism. Based on the results of the evaluation through the distribution of google form questionnaires, it was found that 82% of students stated that the activities of using paraphrasing applications that were taught were beneficial. In comparison, 18% of students stated that it was helpful.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research were to find the errors in student’s writing at The Tenth Grade Science 1 of SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran. The subject of this research were 20 students of SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran. The technique of collecting data used in this research were interview, observation and written test. The researcher used Dulay’s Theory to classify the types of errors. In this research, the researcher found 4 types of errors. Those were ommision, addition, misformation and misordering. The precentage of frequency the errors. It was ommison type (42,86%), addition type (5,71%), misformation type (22,86%), and misordering type (28,57%). From all of the types, the highest frequent types of error was omission. Keywords: Simple Past Tense Sentence, Writing, Errors  Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan kesalahan dalam menulis siswa kelas X IPA 1 SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa SMA Swasta Daerah Kisaran. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi dan tes tertulis. Peneliti menggunakan Teori Dulay untuk mengklasifikasikan jenis-jenis kesalahan. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan 4 jenis kesalahan. Yaitu penghilangan, penambahan, salah formasi dan salah urut. Persentase frekuensi kesalahan. Yaitu tipe omission (42,86%), tipe penambahan (5,71%), tipe salah formasi (22,86%), dan tipe salah susun (28,57%). Dari semua jenis tersebut, jenis kesalahan yang paling sering terjadi adalah omission. Kata kunci: Kalimat Simple Past Tense, Penulisan, Kesalahan

Abstract

Kampus Mengajar is one of the independent campus programs designed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. In its implementation, this program provides a mandate for students to be able to carry out learning to students who focus on understanding literacy and numeracy. The main objective of the Kampus Mengajar program is to provide opportunities for students to learn and develop themselves through activities outside the lecture class, helping schools to provide optimal educational services to all students in limited and critical conditions during the pandemic. In addition, the schools that are the target locations of the Kampus Mengajar Program are schools that are still underdeveloped in the aspects of literacy and numeracy, technology adaptation, and administration, therefore students who participate in the Kampus Mengajar Program will greatly assist in the learning process in schools that are still lagging behind in these 4 aspects, one of which is SD Negeri 173320 Siborutorop where with this Kampus Mengajar program, students' literacy skills are really developing.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Fun Books as a measuring tool to increase students' creativity at elementary school level in mathematics and language learning. This service is carried out with a focus on measuring students' creativity levels before and after implementing the Fun Book as well as evaluating how to stimulate students' creativity in both subjects. The target of the training is selected students, namely SD Negeri No. 010246 Banjar. The students selected were 16 Grade 2 students. The problem seen at this school is that students are still passive in learning, students are not yet creative and have difficulty answering questions asked by the teacher during each lesson in class, there are even 50% of students who are sleepy when taking part in class lessons. The impact of this training was that 13 students were able to use Fun Book media. Evaluation is carried out at the end of the training by distributing questionnaires to measure the participant's level of understanding. The questionnaire contains questions related to the respondent's identity; general questions related to mathematics and language learning and specific questions related to Fun Book media. The calculation of the questionnaire used the Guttman scale. The evaluation results showed that 89.84% had increased knowledge seen from the calculation of the questionnaire per individual and per question asked and the participation and enthusiasm of students during activities using the Fun Book.Keywords: Fun Book; creativity; student
