Abstract

Globally, students have long familiarized with utilizng a presentation program from Microsoft named Powerpoint, this program is good just not enough to attract the attention of students’ creativity. It is necessary a program that can not only be used to display concepts but also be able to attract the attention of students while presenting. The program in question is Focusky, in addition to being easy to use the program is also able to display slides with zoom in-zoom out effect with friendly facilities and object effects galore making this program very suitable used by students in presenting their tasks in front of the class. This study employs a qualitative descriptive study by conducting data collection through books and other literature as the main object.  Descriptive analysis method provides a clear, objective, systematic, analytical and critical picture and description of the application of focusky presentation media to the creative writing of Unuiversity students. Students in general, for example in the Faculty of Literature UMI do not have the same information technology capabilities (evenly) where there are those capable while some who are less in designing presentations. Hence, utilizing focusky will help students who could make creative presentations media to the best of their abilites.  Focusky-based presentation acts as an alternative to support students creativity that is very appropriate to apply to creative writing ideas and motivate students during presentations in higher education setting.

Abstract

The pilot study focuses on three issues: how to articulate the need for learning videos in the language course, how to design learning videos in the language course, and how to articulate the feasibility and practicality of learning videos in the language course at the Faculty of Letters, Muslim University of Indonesia. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings of this study indicated that students required more engaging learning resources than books and presentation slides, one of which is a learning video packaged in animation to capture students' attention and motivate them to learn the content or material in the learning video. Language learning videos with material paragraphs are produced using the video animation concept, specifically whiteboard animation. This design was picked based on the animated video's attractiveness to the audience in order to pique their interest in the material or film after it is shown. The viability of learning videos as determined by validation results from media and material experts on newly designed Indonesian language learning films is extremely good. The video's form or presentation, as well as the content included inside, are adequate and sufficient to allow it to forward to the following stage, namely testing to ascertain the answers or replies of lecturers and students. The practicality of the learning videos, as determined by lecturers and students' reactions, is extremely good; there are no substantial barriers to lecturers and students using these learning videos.

Abstract

Digital technology has begun to permeate all spheres of society, including education, particularly higher education. This research is concerned with investigating the need for digital-based learning materials in the folklore course at the Faculty of Letters, Indonesian Muslim University. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach by gathering data through questionnaire. The samples consisted of 5 lecturers and 50 students with a total of 55 samples that were given a questionnaire to which they have given consent to participate. According to this study, among other findings, students were becoming tired with printed educational materials. Students could have a unique experience with digital teaching resources, which can aid both lecturers and students in learning. Using the application Focusky, digital teaching materials containing historical folklore elements could be produced as a learning material. Digital teaching materials designed as presentation media with animations and 3D transition effects that zoom in and out to capture the attention of students. Focusky for courses in folklore seemed to have a very high level of practicability. The design or presentation of digital teaching materials and the content included within them are enough and adequate for innovative learning. Furthermore, based on the responses of lecturers and students to the digital teaching materials, the practicality of Focusky was rated as very good, and there were no significant challenges for lecturers and students when utilizing digital teaching materials for the history of folklore in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore on strengthening character education through e-books for online or distance learning in the times of COVID-19. The present study employs a descriptive qualitative with the aim of being able to provide clear, objective, systematic, analytical descriptions and information, and critical aspect of Character Education-Based E-book for learning during the Covid 19 era in higher education. There were several steps such as collecting the required data, then classification and description were carried out. The sources of data in this study were government policies, books and articles concerning the implementation of distance learning during the covid 19 period and character education. The method used to collect research data is in the form of literary data that has been selected, searched, presented and analyzed. The application of Indonesian e-books based on character education is a solution that can be done to overcome the problems of character education during the COVID-19 era, especially regarding the use of diction and literature. In this e-book character values ​​can be inserted in the introduction, materials, and assignments to provide character education to students. Hence, the e-book was developed based on the curriculum and the values ​​of character education. E-books are provided in online learning and can be studied by students from their homes both online and offline. In order to draw students’ attention, the e-book must be designed to be visually attractive so that the material in it can be learned and easily understood by students.

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Wihdatul Ulum Bontokassi Kabupaten Gowa, dalam pengabdian ini adalah implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah belum berjalan optimal dan Pojok Baca sebagai sarana penunjang Gerakan Literasi Sekolah juga belum tersedia. Selain itu, guru dan peserta didik belum memahami secara mendalam terkait tahapan implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Untuk itu, solusi yang diterapkan adalah pembuatan Pojok Baca Kelas dan memberikan materi program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, penyuluhan, dan aplikasi program. Pada kegiatan sosialisasi, diberikan motivasi literasi kepada peserta didik. Kegiatan penyuluhan, diberikan materi implementasi dan tahapan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah kepada guru dan pustakawan. Dan pada kegiatan aplikasi program, dilakukan pembuatan pojok baca kelas. Berdasarkan realisasi kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan hasil yang berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan mitra terkait program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah dan telah tersedianya sarana literasi Pojok Baca di sekolah. Peningkatan pengetahuan mitra tersebut terutama terkait langkah-langkah atau tahapan dalam mengimplementasikan program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah, tumbuhnya motivasi dan minat baca peserta didik, serta pemanfaatan sudut ruangan kelas sebagai sarana literasi berupa pojok baca.

Abstract

Pada era digital saat ini, tampaknya mading konvensional sudah tidak lagi sesuai, selain anggaran untuk menyiapkan berbagai bahan yang dibutuhkan memerlukan biaya yang cukup tinggi. Penggunaan bahan-bahan tentunya menjadi pertimbangan saat harus mendaur ulang karena harus diganti secara berkala. Olehnya itu, mading konvensional haruslah beriringan bersama dengan perkembangan era digital. Mading digital sudah marak digunakan oleh beberapa sekolah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi digital. Berbagai platform digital dapat digunakan dalam mendesain mading digital sehingga dapat menghasilkan kreasi yang baik. Salah satu platform yang bisa digunakan yakni ‘canva’. Mengingat keberadaan mading sekolah memiliki arti yang penting baik bagi siswa maupun guru, maka hendaknya mading sekolah dikelola secara baik agar tetap eksis. Menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa MA Wihdatul Ulum merupakan lokasi pengabdian yang dipilih oleh tim pengabdi karena sekolah tersebut adalah salah satu sekolah binaan Yayasan Wakaf UMI yang berlokasi di Desa Bontokassi Gowa. Pelatihan membuat mading digital bagi siswa mendapat respon yang positif dari pihak sekolah sebagai mitra pengabdian. Pelatihan membuat mading digital diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa dalam berbagi informasi terbaik sekolah kepada seluruh siswa maupun orang di luar lingkup sekolah. Pelatihan ini memberi manfaat yang besar bagi siswa untuk menampilkan informasi setiap saat dalam waktu relatif bebas. Pada akhir kegiatan pelatihan, secara kolaboratif tim pengabdi, guru, dan siswa menyusun mading digital yang memuat data tentang informasi seputar sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan penerapan metode copy the master dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bantaeng. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam bersiklus. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 2 Bantaeng yang berjumlah 27 siswa. Hasil penelitian kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerpen menggunakan metode copy the master menunjukan peningkatan pada tiap siklus dan kualifikasi dicapai pada siklus II dengan mencapai ketentuan indikator keberhasilan yang harus dicapai yakni 75% siswa yang mendapatkan nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 78. Adapun hasil pembelajaran siklus I yaitu dengan hasil presentase 48% atau hasil rata-rata 75,88 berbeda pada siklus II yang mengalami perubahan lebih efektif dengan hasil presentase 89% atau hasil rata-rata 83,14. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode copy the master dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Bantaeng dinyatakan berhasil.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the group discussion method in improving the speaking skills of class XI students of SMAN 2 Bantaeng. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in cycles. Each cycle has four stages, namely, the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in the study were students of class XI IPS 1 at SMAN 2 Bantaeng, totaling 28 students. The results of research on students' ability to speak using the group discussion method in class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Bantaeng showed an increase in learning outcomes in each cycle and qualifications achieved in cycle II by achieving the provisions of the indicator of success that must be achieved, namely 75% of students who get a Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score of 78. The learning outcomes in cycle I are with a percentage result of 25% or with an average result of 60.46 different in cycle II those who experienced changes were more effective, namely with a percentage result of 79% or with an average result of 80.42 in cycle II students were more enthusiastic in participating in the learning.

Abstract

Kemampuan berkomunikasi dihadapan publik perlu diasah sejak dini di sekolah. Integrasi pendidikan formal dengan pelibatan guru melalui metode pembelajaran aktif dan adaptif yang berpusat pada siswa dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan keterampilan menceritakan pengetahuan di setiap materi pelajaran. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan mengimplementasikan public speaking seni berwacana pada siswa melalui integrasi mata pelajaran secara berkelanjutan, yang progress capaiannya diukur melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) oleh guru Raudlatul Atfhal dan Madrasah Ibtidaiyah An Nashar Makassar. Metode PKM dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan sistem penugasan. Guru mengevaluasi proses pembelajaran dengan menstimulasi siswa untuk bercerita terkait objek yang dianggap relevan pada setiap mata pelajaran. Perkembangan siswa dalam berwacana dipetakan melalui PTK oleh guru. Penilaian guru berdasarkan siklus yang dianalisis pada proses pembelajaran hingga penyusunan laporan hasil penelitian. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan mendapat apresiasi yang tinggi oleh peserta. Penguasaan guru pada metode dan materi dikembangkan dengan mengintegrasikan mata pelajaran, komunikasi secara lisan, budaya komunikasi, dan karakter siswa, terlihat pada saat bercerita. Pembiasaan seni berwacana siswa membentuk keberanian dalam menyampaikan gagasan dan ekspresi semakin tampak dan mencapai hasil yang optimal dalam pembelajaran di kelas dengan kateogri nilai yang baik berdasarkan laporan PTK yang dihasilkan oleh guru.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mrndeskripsikan penerapan metode pembelajaran media sosial instagram dalam pembelajaran teks ceramah terhadap kemampuan menyimak dan utnuk peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui pengaruh media sosial instagram dalam pembelajaran teks ceramah terhadap kemampuan menyimak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) atau classroom action research. Desain dalam penelitian ini ada empat yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan/tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Lokasi penelitian yaitu di SMA Negeri 11 Pangkep, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI Albiruni SMA Negeri 11 Pangkep. Adapun sumber data yaitu primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data ada 4 tahap observasi, wawancara, kusioner, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan bahwa dengan penerapan pembelajaran menggunakan media sosial instagram hasil belajar siswa dinyatakan meningkat  di lihat dari peningkatan teks ceramah dari kegiatan prasiklus. Dari kegiatan prasiklus nilai rata-rata belajar siswa sebesar 60% atau setara dengan 12 siswa yang memperoleh nilai tuntas. Siklus I pertemuan kedua nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 74% setara dengan 18 yang memperoleh nilai tuntas dan siklus II nilai rata-rata 82%. Dari hasil belajar tersebut mengalami peningkatan dari kegiatan prasiklus kegiatan siklus I atau siklus II pada setiap pertemuannya .
