Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of character education in SMA Negeri I Teladan Yogyakarta. This research method uses a qualitative approach. The steps are 1) collecting data through a questionnaire technique); 2) reducing data with the aim of simplifying and categorizing data; 3) presenting data in the form of a mean description; 4) drawing conclusions and 5) compiling research reports, and formulate recommendations for research results. The results of the study show that: 1) the management of character education at SMA Negeri I Teladan Yogyakarta has so far applied management principles, that the character education program at SMA Negeri 1 Yogyakarta is integrated into both curricular and extracurricular; 2) There are obstacles in the implementation, namely the learning system, the understanding of teachers and employees is not yet optimal,) the students' understanding of the importance of character education, and media, equipment, and program support are still lacking so that the implementation of education the character in the class is less than optimal; 3) The efforts made by schools in implementing character education management are the establishment of a character education implementing and monitoring team, teachers are required to carry out assessments concerning character, namely the spiritual and social aspects on an ongoing basis; an evaluation of the development of character education is carried out based on the results of teacher assessments, intensive socialization is carried out to teachers, employees, and students regarding character education programs, and schools seek to support the implementation of character education programs.

Abstract

Information technology and communication adoption, including social media, remains an interesting research theme in this digital era, especially in a developing country like Indonesia. A survey of principals’ perceptions in Indonesia on the factors that influence the use of social media for instructional leadership serves as the focus of this study. Using a sequential approach, 122 principals responded to the questionnaire which adapted the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) containing six constructs namely perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived attitude, perceived facilitating conditions, subjective norm, and behavioral intention to use technology; and seven of them were interviewed to give further explanations on their perception. The different test was used on for the results of the interview for the quantitative data analysis and thematic analysis. This research finds that the principals’ use of the social media in instructional leadership is considered satisfactory. There is no significant difference regarding the use of social media for instructional leadership based on sex or age, but there is a significant difference based on age in which principals aged more than 50 years have the highest average of TAM. From the interviews, it can be concluded that principals use social media for work to make communication more effective and efficient. The use of social media between the principal and teaching staff proves to be a great way for communication and supervision, not only to report on the teaching and learning process, but also other activities such as administrative reports and financial discussions.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out: 1.) Character education management models in Indonesia and India: Comparative study at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Lajpat Raj DAV College Jagraon India; and 2.) Effectiveness of Character education management models in Indonesia and India: Comparative Study at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and Lajpat Raj DAV College Jagraon India. The method of this research was qualitative research and used a comparative study design approach. This research's most appropriate strategy was embedded research (stuck research) because the research has been planned in detail in the proposal before the researchers plunged into the field. The steps used were: 1.) Collecting source through multi-technique); 2) Reducing data to simplify and categorizing data; 3) Presenting data in the form of qualitative description; 4) Concluding; and 5.) Preparing research reports and formulating recommendations comparison research results. The research results show that the character education management model in Indonesia and India is almost the same. Whereas in Indonesia, it focuses more on religious and general characters, it is more on developing religious character in India. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of character education from Indonesia and India has been achieved by shaping students' character and other components, both for lecturers and education staff. Meanwhile, in India, public awareness and educators of the importance of education.

Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence on how higher education institutions (HEIs) teacher educators use SM in teaching during the Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) outbreak. Evaluation of the factors that are the key to implementing the use of SM in education during the Covid-19 outbreak is essential. We used a survey aiming to answer the research questions of the study. The study participants are 297 faculty members from all over the Indonesian faculty of education and teacher training. The findings of the study reported that all hypotheses are significant. Facilitating Condition (FC) significantly predicts Perceived Ease of Use (PEU) and Perceived Usefulness (PU). Similarly, PEU is positively related to PU and Intention to Use (IU). PU also significantly determines IU. In addition,  IU is significantly correlated with Actual Use (AU). The highest path coefficient is achieved by the relationship between the FC and PU. PEU and PU are the lowest relationship. Suggestions and recommendations are offered for the betterment of teaching and learning processes during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Abstract

This research was aimed to: 1) find the steps of character education model development as an effort to improve personal and social skill for street children in Yogyakarta, 2) find the effectiveness of character education model in improving personal and social skill for street children in Yogyakarta. The data collection technique used were focus group discussion, questionnaire, interview, observation, and documentation. The data validity used expert validation and method triangulation technique. The data analysis was used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. The research showed as follow: 1) the steps of character education model development as an effort: a) through preliminary study, b) model planning and design the model of character education, as well as set the instrument for focus group discussion and expert validation, c) limited trial test, model evaluation and revision; 2) by doing limited trial test for 25 street children at Rumah Singgah Girlan Nusantara ( a house provided voluntary for street children to rest or gain skill through activities), it indicated that model developed effectively. Model trial test indicated that learning solve problem (LPM) model implementation showed significant result for the change of personal and social skill of street children before and after learning.ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menemukan langkah-langkah pengembangan model pendidikan karakter sebagai upaya peningkatan personal dan social skill bagi anak jalanan di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta; 2) menemukan efektivitas model pendidikan karakter dalam meningkatkan personal dan social skill bagi anak jalanan di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik focus group disscussion, angket, wawancara, observasi, dan teknik dokumentasi. Validitas data menggunakan validasi ahli dan teknik triangulasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) langkah-langkah pengembangan model pendidikan karakter dilakukan melalui: a) studi pendahuluan, b) merencanakan dan menyusun model pendidikan karakter beserta perangkatnya melalui focus group disscussion dan validasi ahli, c) melakukan uji coba terbatas, evaluasi dan revisi model; 2) Melalui uji coba terbatas pada 25 anak jalanan di Rumah Singgah Girlan Nusantara, menunjukkan model yang dikembangkan efektif. Uji coba model menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model latihan pemecahan masalah memperoleh hasil yang signifikan di mana ada perubahan personal dan social skill anak jalanan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the implementation of fun school at SMA Negeri 1 Sleman (a public senior secondary school) in Yogyakarta. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative with case study approach. The technique used in collecting data was by field study, documentation, and interview. The source of the data was the headmaster, teachers, and students. The data validity used triangulation technique, while the data analysis used interactive data through some step, that is, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing the conclusion. The result shows that SMA Negeri 1 Sleman is one of fun schools in the aspect of headmaster’s leadership, educator support and education manpower, school environment, infrastructure, learning activity, excellent service, and class climate. The school management focuses on aspects that lead it to be a favorite, high-rank, and fun school. This research concludes that headmaster’s leadership is the main indicator to construct the fun best school.ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui penyelenggaraan sekolah yang menyenangkan di SMA Negeri I Pakem Kabupaten Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung, dokumentasi, dan wawancara mendalam. Sumber data diperoleh dari kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi, dan analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif melalui langkah-langkah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, sajian data, dan verifikasi atau penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri I Pakem Sleman merupakan sekolah yang menyenangkan baik dari segi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dukungan pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan, lingkungan sekolah, sarana dan prasarana, kegiatan pembelajaran, layanan prima, dan iklim kelas. Pengelolaan sekolah terfokus pada hal-hal tersebut yang mengkondisikan Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri I Pakem menjadi sekolah favorit, unggulan, dan menyenangkan. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah merupakan indikator yang paling utama dalam mewujudkan sekolah unggul yang menyenangkan.

Abstract

penelitan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran pustakawan terhadap kualitas layanan perpustakaan SMAN 1 Pleret Kabupaten Bantul yang meliputi indikator tolak ukur kualitas layanan yaitu: (1) bukti fisik (tangibles), (2) keandalan (reliability), (3) ketanggapan (responsiveness), (4) jaminan (assurance), dan (5) empati (emphaty). Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu pustakawan sebagai informan utama serta siswa sebagai informan pendukung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian antara lain pedoman wawancara, pedoman observasi, dan pedoman dokumentasi. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran pustakawan terhadap kualitas layanan perpustakaan SMAN 1 Pleret adalah sebagai berikut: 1) pustakawan mampu untuk menunjukkan eksistensi perpustakaan sekolah, dimana perpustakaan mampu menjaga penampilan, baik penampilan diri maupun penampilan fasilitas atau sarana dan prasarana, serta kelengkapan sarana dan prasarana perpustakaan; 2) pustakawan berperan dalam memberikan pelayanan sesuai dengan yang dijanjikan secara akurat dan terpercaya. Kinerja petugas perpustakaan disesuaikan dengan harapan siswa yang berarti memperhatikan ketepatan waktu, pelayanan yang sama unuk setiap siswa, serta kecermatan dalam memberikan layanan; 3) pustakawan mampu serta mau membantu dan memberikan pelayanan yang cepat dan tepat kepada siswa serta dapat menyampaikan informasi secara jelas; 4) pustakawan menjaga kesopanan, menambah pengetahuan serta kemampuannya untuk menumbuhkan rasa percaya siswa pada perpustakaan yang terdiri dari beberapa komponen antara lain komunikasi, keamanan, kenyamanan, kompetesi, serta sopan santun; 5) pustakawan memberikan perhatian serta memahami kebutuhan siswa sebagai pengguna perpustakaan. Perpustakaan sekolah diharapkan memiliki pengertian dan pengetahuan tentang memahami kebutuhan siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kualitas layanan perpustakaan Alternatif Wilayah Selatan Kota Yogyakarta berdasarkan model Servqual. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah pemustaka di Perpustakaan Alternatif Wilayah Selatan Kota Yogyakarta. Penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 0,1 dan n= 4.639. Jumlah sampel penelitian yaitu 99 responden dengan penentuan responden menggunakan teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode angket, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Teknik keabsahan dan analisis data menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan aplikasi SPSS 19.0 dan Microsoft Excel 2010, berikutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kepuasan pemustaka terhadap kualitas layanan di perpustakaan Alternatif Wilayah Selatan Kota Yogyakarta pada lima variable yakni bukti fisik sebesar 81, kehandalan sebesar 89%, ketanggapan sebesar 90%, jaminan sebesar 81% serta empati sebesar 84%. Sedangkan rata-rata kepuasan pada kelima aspek yakni 84% dengan kategori sangat puas.

Abstract

The main problems dealing with history learning has always been correlated with boring and unattractive learning in the classroom. This study aims to find out: the material of the Demak kingdom in learning of history in high school. The research method used in this research is a historical method consisting of five steps, namely topic selection, heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results show that the Demak Sultanate was the first Islamic sultanate in Java, which was founded by Raden Patah in 1478 after Demak was established independently separated from the destroyed Majapahit. The territory of the Demak kingdom includes Jepara, Semarang, Tegal, and lembang, jambi, islands between Kalimantan and Sumatra, as well as several areas on the island of Kalimantan. The important ports controlled by Demak are Jepara, Tuban, Sidayu, Jaratan and Gresik. Demak has an important role in the development of Islam in Java and Demak is the center of the spread of Islam. The people who spread Islam is known as wali. For places of worship and centers of religious activities, wali set up a mosque in Demak. Demak Kingdom experienced a glorious period in the government of Sultan Trenggana who ruled from 1521-1546 M. Sultan Trenggana tried to expand his territory to West Java. In 1522 the Demak Kingdom sent troops to West Java under the leadership of Fatahillah.

Abstract

Untuk menjaga kualitas proses pendidikan, khususnya pada masa pandemi yang beralih ke pembelajaran daring, supervisi klinis perlu dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah. Penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan serta menganalisis implementasi observasi kelas/pembelajaran dalam konteks supervisi klinis saat masa pandemi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang berfokus di SMP Negeri 1 Bantul. Informan pada penelitian ini terdiri atas kepala sekolah dan guru. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian dilakukan dengan cara observasi lapangan, wawancara kepada informan serta studi dokumentasi. Teknik keabsahan data pada penelitian dilakukan dengan triangulasi teknik dan sumber. Sedangkan, teknik analisis data yang dilakukan melalui pengumpulan data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan observasi supervisi klinis pada masa pandemi di SMP Negeri 1 Bantul menggunakan dua metode, yaitu secara langsung dan daring. Aspek yang diamati dalam observasi pembelajaran mengacu pada instrumen yang telah dibuat sesuai permasalahan yang dihadapi guru. Hasil observasi ini berguna untuk perbaikan pembelajaran.
